I absolutely love mixing old with new! A bunch of the decor and furniture is from the thrift store however the new sofa really grounds the space. Go to allform.com/lonefox for 20% off any sofa of your choice. I chose their 3 seater sofa in dark smoke leather!
I loved it but I didn’t like the ceiling light that was the only thing maybe a rattan one would of been a better look sense the ceiling is white is like not exciting but the extension cord🥴 but the rest of the room was really really nice
Beginning of the video, that was an apartment. By the end of the video, Drew made that a home! Literally changed the whole vibe. Such a good call on the vase & branches, instantly elevated the space. 🤯🤯🤯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
One of the aspects of your design I admire most is the fact that each element you add to a space has the opportunity to shine on its own. This is elegant and sophisticated, and I especially love the pedestal/vase arrangement. It's stunning.
@@mandisamoonz yes, loved all of it but the window frame on the side window was making me twitchy. I'd volunteer to paint it for you but, alas I live across the country. 😉
You are such a breath of fresh air! So humble, so adorable, never boastful. You have been such an inspiration! I have gathered stuff for a long time that I love, kinda been working towards making it come together. It's coming together! I lost my husband of 38 years on Christmas Eve last year to cancer, I have been stuck in a rut for a while. You inspired me to pull all of the stuff out and make it work. Not done yet, but I'm a happy camper! Its looking and feeling so good!
Very well done as usual, Drew! I'm always amazed that you pick thrifted pieces that I wouldn't even give a second glance, and they always look so good in the makeovers - I think you have a magic touch and once those pieces are deemed Drew-worthy, they are instantly elevated. Pattern matching on striped and plaid fabrics is hard to do, I'm glad you got the cushions professionally sewn. The only thing I would add to this space is a light-colored fabric cord cover for the hanging lamp, I think that would make it blend into the ceiling better. Love what you did with this space!
Agree with everything Kimberly said -- especially the cord cover. Drew, can you give viewers some ideas on what to do with those damn cords? They look awful, no matter what I put on or over them.
I LOVE that Marie is getting brave, lol, and being on camera more 🥰 Can’t wait until she starts talking & sharing her thoughts. You two are AWESOME!!! 💕
The living room looks so classy and unique. I envy that you can find so many beautiful furnitures at the thrift store. You have an eye for finding beautiful pieces then tieing all of the things together.
Drew, the pedestal, vase & branches in the corner are stunning! As is the oval paper lantern. Fantastic, excellent outstanding style. Thanks for sharing.
I love how everything looks "mismatched" but at the same time looks perfectly together. Love the concept and how it all came to live at the end! You are so talented!
1) The eclipse shade change out made such a HUGE difference - you wouldn't think so, but didn't it? 2) Love the martini side table. I JUST added the smaller version of that one in my bedroom in a seating area - so freaking chic 😍
I was thinking that the first one was an (ahem) interesting choice lol. But patiently waited to see how he was going to tie it in because I knew by the end everything was going to look amazing. And by golly he did it, with an unexpected delivery. Enjoyed this makeover.
It always amazes me how you make what to me often looks like gaudy thrift finds in the thrift shop into elegant statement pieces with purpose. Nice one.
I personally only thrift all of my furniture. There are so many amazing pieces that already exist and these pieces are way cheaper and better quality than anything you could buy from Target or Ikea. This ended up looking way higher end than anything affordable and new. I hope you continue to do more thrifting in the future. Very inspiring.
Truly remarkable. Love thrifted rooms SO MUCH! Anyone can drop major bucks on new furnishings, but it takes a real keen eye to design on a budget. My only suggestion is possibly wrapping that ceiling light cord in jute twine. It would smooth out the kinks in the cord and go great with the burlap style chair cushions. Love to watch you create.
Honestly at the beginning I wan't too sure because the space looked reaaaaally stark white against the dark furniture bit at the end it came together amazingly! Honestly Drew, I've followed you for quite a bit and I really love how you truly have an interior design vision and create new spaces. This feels fresh and new and unseen and I love that it doesn't just mindlessly follow trends. You are an interior designer through and through and you have your own style
The swap out paper shade is spot-on. I love big bold ceiling fixture looks and this fits the space so well, especially the off white instead of the true white. Perfect choice.
You are a great interior designer! You are going to be in demand. Everyone will want a room designed by Lone Fox. You are a great presenter and teacher.
Great job, as always! The richness of the drapes and the black trim on the windows are a perfect backdrop for the room. Love the DIY console! I would have used white cord covers on the TV cord and the ceiling fixture as a finishing touch.
LOVE this - the paper lamp is perfection! When I have curtains that need that middle support, I usually paint the support the same color as the wall. It just doesn't stand out as much. This vid has encouraged me to tackle some changes!
Love all of your makeovers! Though that poor fiddle leaf fig will 100% die in that corner that far away from the windows. Those suckers need light! Tell Jordan to swap the live one for a fake one if it needs to be in that corner and he can put the live one in another room next to a window!
TIP: next time you reupholster go ahead and fold a little hem at the edge of the fabric to leave a nice edge on the side you staple last, leaving a nicer more professionally upholstered look and feel with no trimming afterwards.
This was one of my favorite room makeovers that you've done this year. I was a little iffy on the media table, but it looks amazing in the space! I also had the same thoughts with the pedestal in the corner with a light vase & the paper lantern :D I love the stools and the reupholstered chair and the autumnal warm tones.
You have such a fine sense of deign and colour. So many you tubers just copy each other but you just use what you love and your instincts are bang on to create totally unique spaces!
I love the way you make use of thrift store finds and make them elegant. I think the eliptical ceiling lamp is much nicer than the round one. I, however, have a problem with the cord. I hate cords hanging down. there are little u clips that would nail right into the beam and keep the cord up and away, but that's just my style.
I've been watching your channel for a while now. But I've never commented. This may be the best you've done! Painting the window trim black was a great idea. I've been toying with that idea for my dining room. This clinched it for me. I love your channel and your style. Keep up the good work!
This room is stunning! It always blows me away to see the rooms you makeover. I think you made the right choice on the sconces even though the green glass sconce was darling. Maybe you could use them in your house? I love everything you did, and I’m sure Jordan was thrilled!
OMG!!! It's amazing wonderful, elegant.and, at the same time, it is such a confortable environment. The colors chosen are just perfect. As always my dear Congratulations and Keep on doing so well. The only thing that does not convince me is the paper Lamp. First because the black cable crossing the ceiling and then I think does not mach so well. ❤
Drew, that is absolutely stunning, the room looked so sterile at the beginning, now so stylish, you have an amazing design eye! Great makeover! Love it!
DREW - your makeovers, styling, DIYs… always amaze me and inspire me to take spaces and give them new life! I love how you incorporate investment pieces with thrift finds and DIYs. So, so amazing. Love it!
I would never have thought that curly chair painted black could be so fabulous with the black window trim and those bronze drapes!! and that bronze colored stand with the branches in the white pot are amazing.
I absolutely adore your designs! Your attention to detail, how much of yourself you give to them- I just always feel so inspired and in awe of these beautiful spaces that you create. What a wonderful job you’re doing, Drew :)
Love how this turned out- the light made a huge diff- I kinda liked the orginal wall scones with the pedistal. The colors are modern yet warm. Great jpb
This is. Stunning. Best makeover design you have done yet, and ALL OF YOUR WORK IS LITERAL PERFECTION so this?? I don’t even think there’s words to describe how divine this space is and how effortless you made it seem. Your eye for design, your passion for it, and love is awe-inspiring👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Drew! I love all of your makeovers, but 👏🏻every👏🏻single👏🏻design 👏🏻choice here is perfection. Seriously I wouldn't change a thing and want everything! Well, maybe I would find a spot for that green glass sconce too because it was ALSO gorgeous. Seriously considering recreating this exact space in my home. You've outdone yourself!
I called out from work so sick today but I found your beautiful channel. Very blessed by your positive and peaceful energy. I pray you have much success on all that you endeavor. God bless your hands.
I was feeling bad when u painted the chair black it was a beauty 😍,but when i saw it in the final reveal i was like awwwww.....its beautiful and shapes and figures and materials that you have used looked amazing.Everything came together and the curtains 😍😍😍😍.
You did a great job! Not a fan of the cord hanging down across the ceiling. I probably would've tried to paint or wrap it and pin up to blend in with the ceiling.
That is the only thing detracting from the aesthetic of the room. Painting the windows black brought out the architure of the home the richness of the Burnt Orange drapes bring in the rug and the chair fabric adding cohesion and warmth... the final touch was that lamp. So Totally retro.
That live-edge wood table is EVERYTHING!! It makes the whole design, I swear. The fiddle-leaf fig will probably drop most of its leaves. They really don't like being moved, but that's o.k. They'll grow back and it will branch out more. If I came home to this room, I would be jumping up and down and screaming! Wish I could afford you to fix up this ugly apartment I live in.
Love the room, furniture , drapes, plants and rug. The only piece I would change is the picture behind the chesterfield Just found your channel two days ago and am loving it. 🥰👍
Love the makeover and how you pull everything together! When you have time, could you please do a video that provides tips on how to make 1) a bedroom with dark traditional bed furniture in a plain tract home (no architectural items of interest) look more modern, and 2) a tract home master bath have some modern flair versus looking so generic?
I loved everything you did in this room! That lamp was my favorite thrifted item. Oh, and the chair was gorgeous. I love when you do a room makeover. Great video!!!
Well done! FYI just in case: fabric glue or hot glue grosgrain ribbon over the staple line under the arm and seat of the chair for even more finished look. Also, let down the hem of the curtain so the rod can be even higher or for a puddle effect. Then, iron on tape to the hem for another finished look. As always, this grandma is proud of you! ❤️👵🏻👶🏻
This is so fun, being able to decorate/style up your friend's place!! Love that you painted the window frames black - makes a great statement without overtaking the space; however, why didn't you also paint the window frame black on the adjacent wall? I think it should match the other windows (right now, it seems like it was overlooked imo).
Wow, that chair you redid looks like it’s been in that living room for years. Love your design style. You should consider a contest to design a space for one of your subscribers. It would be so much fun to watch. Not to put more on your plate, especially since you just bought a home, just dreaming! 🕷
So multi gifted- Drew you’re amazing. Love how you upholstered the arms of the chair, the pedestal and vase(stunning swap out), the black window trim and curtains- perfect. I loved everything. Wall sconces great choice, media shelf 👍 Perfectly masculine space and every detail works so well together. Love how much of a visionary you are. Seeing potential in thrifted items and then bringing the vision to life - so exciting to watch 👏👏👏
What a beautiful design ! I love almost everything about this. The only exception is the lamp.. just not crazy about the lampshade. You have such a great artistic eye !!
As soon as you showed us Drew the choices of the drapes you had right away I thought I hope you pick the rust colored ones as I knew it would go great with the chair. I love the pillows you purchased for the sofa as the drapes and they go together as well. I kick myself a lot since I started in Instagram and watching these decorating videos that I did not stick with interior design in college. I changed my major and went for a business degree and I am so burned out doing accounting everyday of my life. My carpal tunnel is so bad now from the number key pad on the computer that I am in pain most days and literally cannot open a bag of chips anymore. I love medieval furnishings and I love the country style of decorating and I am into a tad of the 1960s decor for kitchens with retro fabrics. My mom passed away a year ago this July and looking at all our photos taken in the 60s in our home in San Mateo, Calif my mom made all the curtains in the kitchen and the fabrics were so fun with the old fashion juicers, tea pots, cups, coffee pot prints. I just love your touch no matter if it is your home you are styling or someone else's the empty pallet always becomes a huge WOW! Your assistant/roommate is so cute too.
I love this! The one thing I wish I had seen was painting the small beams on the ceiling black, I think it would’ve tied in the window frames perfectly
I have just one gripe- in this interior the cord to the lampshade is too visible but it’s a plain black cord. It doesn’t look intentional, it’s just hanging there. The window treatment is a bold choice.
I agree, you can get lengths of brass chain by the foot at the hardware store and weave the cord through the chain. Or use a fabric cord cover, it's just a long tube that gets scrunched up and looks more intentional. Or even just rewire it to have a white cord that would not stand out so much against the ceiling!
Those stools are really pretty! How come you didn’t do the side window frame in black as well? I like how you styled the built in shelves behind the pretty fiddle leaf fig tree.
Your hands are truly anointed by God! I LOVE the branches from outside in the corner with the pedestal. The seating is on point! The colors married so well. You chose the perfect sconces because that gold brightens up the wall. You are so clever and amazing! May God continue to bless and favor you with success!!! 🙏🏽❤️ May you continue to prosper and flourish and be on the covers of magazines and interviewed all over the world! Go Drew! Grow! Oh yeah I don’t know you, just a super fan that is subscribed and shares your videos every where she goes. 😂😩
I've had the audio problem with a lot of videos I've watched recently, but if you go in and out of the video a couple of times, it will work. I got it on my 3rd try 💕
The only thing I'd change is painting the trim on those other two windows. I just need them to be black like the other three. The mixing of tones and textures in this room is superb.
I love this space. It has a cozy but chic vibe to it, like everything belongs. Now I know I’m on the right path and a new sofa I have my eye on is what I need for my space. Good job, Drew!

Or simply get some cord to trim the seat and back. I had a chair professionaly done and that is how they finished it off.
He folded a hem on the top and sides where it would be seen but maybe he didnt think to do it underneath...?
You can use double sided tape to fold the fabric on itself and make it easier to handle on stapling.

Wow, that chair you redid looks like it’s been in that living room for years. Love your design style. You should consider a contest to design a space for one of your subscribers. It would be so much fun to watch. Not to put more on your plate, especially since you just bought a home, just dreaming! 🕷
Fun! I love listening to confident designers discuss their approach.
Trimming the top of the pot off?? Drew - once again - Genius!!!
Drew, this is gorgeous. Love the black & rusty orangey colors. Great job as always.
You have such a great eye in mixing old and new!!! Love this room makeover
Love the black window trim idea❣️❣️❣️
Yes, but why was the 4th window left white??? I could not live with that obvious omission.
I love the simplicity and richness of this room!
1st time Ive seen a video with no sound lol 😆😭 love u drew. Cant wait to see, watch every single update! YES film it all!. Xo Red Deer Alberta 😘🥰
What a beautiful design ! I love almost everything about this. The only exception is the lamp.. just not crazy about the lampshade. You have such a great artistic eye !!
This is lovely. I wish my roommate could decorate the apartment as well as Drew but he's just a cat.
Haha. Got a giggle.
I love the vision and build of the space, that added touch of the dried branches on the pedestal had my heart skipping beats
I love this! The one thing I wish I had seen was painting the small beams on the ceiling black, I think it would’ve tied in the window frames perfectly
Yes!
Wish you could paint ceiling cord white. Love the light, furniture and room decor arrangement.
Those stools are really pretty! How come you didn’t do the side window frame in black as well? I like how you styled the built in shelves behind the pretty fiddle leaf fig tree.
I was wondering the same. Maybe because they are different type of windows. I think they needed some blind one those two windows too.
That was odd. It looked unfinished.
I was also wondering about the other window!
Agreed! The room was gorgeous but it was so odd that the other windows didn't have the black trim.
I suppose you could call it a conversation piece now. 😉
Sophisticated, yet welcoming...I love it! My fav is the thrift spindle chair and the pedestal in that corner REALLY makes the room.
I’m literally so excited for this series! An absolute fan of your style, it inspires me sm 😍
I've had the audio problem with a lot of videos I've watched recently, but if you go in and out of the video a couple of times, it will work. I got it on my 3rd try 💕
Great tip, thanks! vid is now playing fine (with sound) after doing this

I’m obsessed with the reupholstered chair and the black windows! 😍
