I never would have thought to use purple violet flowers in there but the color combination with the cabinets is genius. (I’m a color nut). Will need to file this colorway for future use.

Drew, you are a Renaissance Man. The hooks and clothes rack used to paint the cabinet doors are just one example of an idea you saw and locked away in your memory to be a problem solver when you needed it. Always observing and adapting. Not something you learned out of a book. Yes, it seemed you picked the sage color and adjusted to the new shade just off the top of your head but really the selection is the result if a lifetime of noting and assessing your options. You are a learner by paying attention, who developed your own opinions and taste. Also your determination and patience are awesome. Best tutorial I have seen to teach in only a few minutes every aspect of the craft and design decision-making process. Wow. Bravo.
I love that you include some "missteps" in the process, like the wrong green at first or the faucet diy mishap. It's so realistic and refreshing to see! And the end product came out beautiful
I agree with Drew that the backsplash isn't my cup of tea but with the new cabinet color everything looks more intentional and cohesive now in the kitchen so it works. Amazing as always Drew!

I know! I was looking forward to one of Drew's beautiful peel & stick backsplashes. But knowing his mom wanted it and then seeing the green, it looked perfect! So French Cottage vibe!

The color of the cabinets goes perfectly with all the static colors in the floor/backsplash/counter. It's amazing what lighter cabinets can do to a room. Looks larger and really classy.

It's amazing how colors do wonders for a space. It automatically opened up the whole place and became inviting as opposed to drabby.
I also love the fact that not all the kitchen handles were the same. Same color but not same style and it definitely makes a difference on each size piece.
I'd have a different morning routine if my kitchen looked like this. Like I'd wake up so eager to go sit in my new kitchen and make a cup of coffee and just take in all the beauty my son just made for me. Love the reveal it put such a smile on my face!

Loved this makeover, Drew! Just a tip for using the paint sprayer - spray from a bit farther away in longer strokes. That way the paint won't go on with the splotchy texture or drips. If the paint seems a little thick for spraying thinly, add a bit of paint thinner and try a test swatch on cardboard. Also use a primer first so that it doesn't chip later!
Drew, you did a wonderful job; that kitchen is stunning now. Isn't it amazing what a cabinet color can do for existing tile/flooring? That color really worked perfectly with the backsplash and flooring. So bright and fresh. It's like an updated, modern, tuscan villa now. I love it!

Initially I thought the backsplash made the kitchen look dated. But I’m so glad you kept it. I love the rustic romantic vibe it gives, (along with the kitchen floor tiles). It makes the kitchen look unique.

The paint color is perfect! It looks great with the existing tile and floors and makes the kitchen so much lighter and brighter. The lamp and chairs bring back some warmth and texture. The hardware choices and accessories are the cherry on top-magazine worthy!
The most important decorating lesson I'm taking away is that it takes the accessories to make it look great. You can't judge until then. He also has confidence in his ideas it takes to make a beautiful room.

I'm not a fan of green, but in this kitchen it ties in so well with the counter tops and back splash. The room looks so much brighter and your accessories are beautiful.

Summer Hay....I love it. It brings summer to this kitchen. However, now that I've seen the 2nd choice, its nice too.
I LOVE the new color, it made the kitchen looking so much more fresh and it goes great with the rest kitchen!! And those woven accents worked so good! My only concern is about not sealing the cabinet fronts after painting, I had a nasty experience about this, I painted the kitchen using a Benjamin Moore paint without any sealer too, and after several years the paint erased in places where we touched the fronts a lot, so I would definitely seal the paint with a good polyacrylic sealer to be sure it lasts longer.

Love love love the color of the cabinets. I have done a lot of painting of furniture myself and the only thing I would’ve suggested you do is apply Zinzer bin primer prior to painting. I’m afraid that the paint may chip easily without having that primer underneath. Having said that, I hope your parents enjoy their renovated kitchen. You’re a such a good son for doing this for them.

I was thinking the same thing..and the fact he didn't give a god scrub down before painting either 😬 cabinets that old have so much built up grime
Also don't understand going through all the work of the hooks and making unnecessary holes when he could have used painting triangles
@@sachadoucet9126 Exactly, I thought the same thing regarding hanging them for painting. I also thought about the triangles, or even using anything to prop them up. I would’ve also let them dry for a good week before putting them back. I also would’ve put some sort of protective coat on top.

WOW! Beautiful! The final color was the right choice. It looks like a completely different kitchen! Drew is a generous son. I want to see my son so I make he and his GF dinner once a week. If I “nagged” him to visit I’d never see him!😆 He’s an electrician and I have quite a few electrical projects I’d like done and have asked him to do. I insist on paying him his stated wage. We are business owners and if we worked for every family member and friend for free we wouldn’t survive. Great work Drew…you made your mom and dad very happy!❤️

Painted cabinets give a French Country look. I love it! Kitchens are hard to do. Very comprehensive! You have wall treatment, tile, floor, cabinets, appliances, hardware............OMG! It's like you start at one place and when you make your way around, the hardware doesn't look good with stainless.... My sister-in-law had her kitchen completely remodeled, but lived with no glass in cabinet doors that were made for it, and no hardware on ANYTHING FOR 2 OR 3 YEARS! She couldn't decide. We got used to just reaching through where the glass should have been, and we looked like little mouse hands trying to get our nails in the seam so we could open a drawer.

Overall, LOVED this makeover. I'm probably in the minority in wishing you had gone with a different paint colour but I loved the styling, details, overall impact. SO many great kitchen accessories. Also, your parents love it so which is most important. Thanks for sharing yet another makeover!

A rustic kitchen with a beautiful vibe. A place not only to kook in, but to hang around in and have nice conversations. You did good. Only one thing i would work with, and that is a small change, but i would tone down the wooden door to match the chairs. Just tint it to that golden wood look instead of that deep red wood tone. Love the green, it set the mood to homly cozy vibe. Well done!

Im literally half way through painting my kitchen this colour!! I love it, so fresh! I wasnt sure what colour to do the hardware so opted for black, but seeing the brass I'm definitely going to swap the black for the brass. I also painted the glass of my cupboards (only as I'm a bit messy and seeing the inside was not a vibe in my kitchen lol). Love your makeover, looks amazing and very much kicking my butt to get one with mine! I only have another 6 fronts to do. Love from North Wales, UK
