    Today we are at Lake Louise, in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. We will be hiking and scrambling up to Devils Thumb. The trail is 11.9 kilometers out and back, with an elevation gain of 883 meters. I decided to make a loop out of it, and hiked 15.1 kilometers, with an elevation gain of 996 meters. The beauty of these majestic mountains and lakes are awe inspiring. In this video we hike up to Mirror Lake, Lake Agnes, to the top of Big Beehive, and then scramble even higher to the Devils Thumb. From the top of Devils Thumb the views are amazing, and one of the highlights is looking across and down to Plain of Six Glaciers. This video showcases Lake Louise from a different point of view.
    This is my 45th video. Thank you very much for watching. If you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up. If you would like to see my other videos, Subscribe to my channel. We did this trail today and it was haaaaarrrrrddd! We wanted to give up several times but hikers along the way told us not to give up. The summit was very very steep.

      Glad you didn't give up. This is a hike you only have to do once to experience the spectacular views in all directions. I hope you got some great pictures.😁

    My daughter and I did a very similar hike. We paddled our kayaks leisurely around Lake Louise until near noon and looking up after stowing our boats headed up the trail to Lake Agnes, made the loop around and up the switchbacks. We took the hike/scramble up the Devil's Thumb Trail but the narrow trail above the Plain of Six Glaciers turned out to be a no-go for my daughter so we retreated to take in the Big Beehive Lookout and took on the Highline Trail for the return to Lake Louise. Pretty awesome adventure day! I still would like to summit the Devil's Thumb likely on a solo walk. Enjoyed your video.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Sounds like you pretty much saw what I did. So much beautiful scenery to absorb in one day.😁 Definately head back to hike to the top of Devils Thumb. It is the icing on top of the cake.

    Hi mate! Have you tried the East End of Rundle “EEOR”? I will go to Devil’s Thumb this week. Was this hike “Devil’s Thumb” a Moderate or Hard in terms of difficulty? Thank you.

    • @LIVEONALBERTA
      @LIVEONALBERTA  3 роки тому +1

      I haven't hiked EEOR yet. I would say that Devils Thumb is a moderate hike, with a few harder sections.

    I am a newbie at hiking. Especially on these rocky paths. Would you recommend me going there??

    • @LIVEONALBERTA
      @LIVEONALBERTA  Рік тому

      Get some hikes under your belt that have a little bit of scrambling first, for example a hike like Wasootch Ridge. It's not really tough but it is very steep in a couple sections where you have to use your hands.

    can children do this?

    • @LIVEONALBERTA
      @LIVEONALBERTA  3 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't recommend it, as there are a few sections that are very steep, and a fall would be fatal.
