  • In 2023 we took a one-year trip in our campervan to hike, eat and sight-see our way across America (and even into Canada).
Join us in this episode as we take an epic hike covering over 13 miles and almost 4,000 feet of climbing in Banff National Park. We combine several trails to get all the views at Lake Louise, Mirror Lake, Lake Agnes, Big Beehive, Devil's Thumb and Plain Of Six Glaciers. Wow! Plus some yummy food at one of the trail's famous teahouses.
This is another episode in the series from Banff and Jasper, Canada. We had a blast and hope you will too as you watch this adventure.
As always, stick around for our usual JUST FOR FUN bloopers and silliness at the end. Let's go!
We welcome your positive, encouraging comments and appreciate you liking and sharing our videos, which helps us grow our channel.
Thank you in advance for your support in what we are doing!

Thank you for your encouraging comments. It was a beautiful hike. Being at the top and being able to see Lake Agnes and Lake Louise at the same time was amazing. Hiking back down was a little tricky, but we took our time and were very careful. Can't wait to share Part Three of the hike. That video is coming soon.

My husband and I just hiked Devils Thumb, Big Beehive and Agnes Teahouse. I love how you captured the terrain for Devil's Thumb! I was definitely grabbing tree roots going up and down.😭😂 Crazy adventure! But it's totally worth it!

Okay, this one had me a nervous wreck. Watching you both go up and down had my heart pumping. I'm so glad you both made it up and down safely. Here are my top 5:
    1. Backgrounds when you are climbing look like a postcard.
    2. I was concerned for Paula coming down those jagged and rocky areas. She is so BRAVE!
    3. I can't believe your climbing and scrambling skills. IMPRESSIVE!
    4. When you both were on the ledge at the top of the summit overlooking those lakes. BREATHTAKING!
    5. The cliffhanger - What happened to David and Dianne????

Thanks, Teresa! We love getting your Top 5. This hike was really difficult, but we were very careful. It was so amazing being immersed in these mountains, and that payoff view at the top was spectacular. Now, to find David and Dianne...stay tuned.

Got married at Banff! We started this hike but stopped because of the VERY strong smell of “some” kind of animals : I was convinced it was bear. And there was scat. Who knows could have been moose which we’d seen earlier on drive to Takakawa Falls. I’m glad we didn’t do it - cause we NEVER would have survived this VERY sketchy trail.
While I applaud you doing it at your age and experience level AND filming it - I was confident I was going to watch one or both of you tumble backwards down the mountain on the steep climbs. Or just slip and fall down the ledges. Thank God you made it home safely! Be careful please. Keep on hiking! No animals on Tour du Mont Blanc - free cold glacier water fountains, pizza , beer, cheese, bread at Refugio’s every 5-10 - 15 miles ; some wild hiking and also accommodations.

Thanks for watching and for your concern. We are actually very experienced hikers and very careful. We always make safety the priority, and if one of us has a concern, we skip it. This is a very doable trail if you are experienced and careful.

It is the beginning of May. Is all of Banff Nat’l Park open? Weather is good for shorts and long sleeves this time of year?

We did this hike in July 2023 as part of a full-year campervan trip. The summer season in Banff National Park is pretty short, so you'll need to check the local weather before you plan a trip. We've been in July and August, and it actually snowed in August.
