      I can’t wait to see the mud test…..By the way; how can I raise the handlebars? If it’s a stem extension, what is the appropriate size? Enjoy your rides and be safe…Looking forward to more videos. Regards

      @FirstTimersCycling  2 роки тому

      @@lhunter325 Yup lol that episode is out now. You can raise your handlebars two ways. 1) You can get a riser bar or 2) You can get a riser stem in the same length as the original. The degree of the rise and length of the stem depends on your fitment preferences. You can get fitted to the bike at your local bike shop or find an fitment specialist or do trial and error by trying different sizes. Try visiting your LBS and see if they would let you try out different riser stems or bars before you commit to buy one from them. 👍👍 Hope that helps!

    Great video! Really like you showing that you don’t need to drop ridiculous amounts of money to have 400 miles of fun.

      Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah having fun is subjective so when our friend bought this bike, we were so excited that he'd be able to ride places that he never would have before. If you watch some of our more recent episodes, we really take this bike out of its intended uses lol. Having a blast! 🤘🤣

    Hi guys,
    I’ve had my Hyper 26 for just over a year with no problems. At 400:00 not a bad buy. Have fun on your bikes and Happy New Year to you all.

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  2 роки тому

      Hey thank you for commenting and Happy New Year to you as well! The price of the bike for what you get is just too hard of a deal to pass up for sure. We did however test it on a slightly muddy trail for climbing and downhill on an episode releasing today. The tires and fork turned out to be the weakest link on the bike. The Hyper 26 handled it all and we definitely pushed it past it's original purpose built setup for city rides, so we are quite happy about that. If the owner of the bike decides to mod it, then different tires and a fork would go a long way.

    I just bought the new 29" Hyper with disc brakes. It comes with the exact same motor and battery as the 26". It is a great bike to run around town, and you can pedal it home if your battery dies. So far I haven't had that problem, which is kind of amazing, considering the distances I have gone and my enormous fat ass. I would love to get an extra battery, just in case something happens or the factory changes the design in the future.

    I have the 26" Hyper; the front fork is a real bummer like you said. For such a nice bike, they screwed up the brakes and fork; other than that, the performance of the battery is awesome. The geometry is really very relaxing and is not too heavy either. The cut-in and cut-off on the motor has an unwanted lag but this is not a Tesla. If you can send any links on where to buy replacement fork, that will be nice.

      Hi there and thanks for commenting! To be completely honest with you, I would just buy some better tires, pedals, brake shoes, and leave the rest of the bike alone. I'm not the owner of this bike but I got to ride it recently on a trail we all went to yesterday. The reason I say this is... forks can cost anywhere from $200-$500 depending on what you get. But most of these brands won't allow for rim brakes so then you'll have to spend another $200+ for a hydraulic front brake system. This would also delete the brake engagement sensor to cut the motor that comes from the factory levers. Then, you'll need a new rim to accept the disc brake setup and you get the picture. The costs add up quick. I agree with you though, this is a great bike for the price but enjoy it for what it is. If you upgrade the pedals, you can at least transfer them to another bike should you decide to upgrade in the future. We have been putting this bike to the test and certainly out of the intended uses for it and it's handling the rides lol. Have you considered getting a used MTB and converting it with a Bafang kit like we have on our bikes?
      Also, to answer your original question... here is a link on reddit from others that have the Hyper 26" and wanting to upgrade the forks. => www.reddit.com/r/ebikes/comments/jsh4th/any_suggestions_for_fork_upgrade_on_walmart_hyper/

    36 * 7.8ah = 280.8 watts available per hour.. so the time says 1 hour 20 mins.. aka 250watt motor..

    Hey Fellas, great videos. How do u think a fat tire bike would do on some of those trails you’ve been riding. I’m a novice and I ride a Aventon Aventure.

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  Рік тому

      Fat tire bikes should handle just fine. I would think the only drawback for a fat tire bike is on turn in on sharper corners. Just go at a comfortable pace and have fun!

    Did you have any issue with the chains coming off while riding on the trail?

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  2 роки тому

      Yes we have had issues with the chain dropping especially on bumpy trail sections. Currently trying to figure out a way to remedy this issue.

    • @bigjonrockon1476
      @bigjonrockon1476 2 роки тому +1

      I bought a 10 dollar chain guide off eBay. Had to use double sided tape and couple of zip ties. Also bent the coupler wider since the frame to attach it is not a round and it’s wider. Chains stays in place now.

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  2 роки тому

      @@bigjonrockon1476 Nice! Was trying to see if a new budget friendly chainring setup would work on Hyper ebike. One with a smaller chainring so it will aid our buddy on the climbs since it's not really geared for it on the cassette side. But if it's not possible, then we'll do what you did with the chain guide! Thanks for your input!

      @@Another-Address Right, it is but the derailleur just flops too freely so the chain pops off way too easily. A clutched derailleur would be ideal but hey, the bike was a bargain so can't really complain. Thanks for commenting!

      @@FirstTimersCycling Microshift advent is built for 8-9speed systems. But i been finding it shifts ok on the stock 6speed freewheel with the 8SPEED microshift advent shifter. You'll jump normally around 1-2gears on some. But around fourth gear is the sweet spot of riding fairly good. Might take alittle fiddling to arange the derailuer to sit in the middle and skip out of first/8th gears. Leaving you to hit 2-3-4-5-6-7 as the 1-2-3-4-5-6 gears. But it works. And it's the ONLY clutch derailuer i seen that is for 8or 9speeds. Any other bike requires atleast i think 9 or 10speeds at the bare lowest and mainly for cassettes.
      Since the 8-9speed advent microshift is also within the 8speed chain width size. It's compatible with 5-6-7-8 size chains. While 9 is slightly thinner and has a wider length. Then it gets alittle to narrow on 10 and above. So the microshift would work with the 8speed shifter on the stock rear wheel.

    I cannot believe they are still selling ebikes with v brakes. That's crazy!

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  2 роки тому

      The bike is totally not meant for the way we've been riding it though lol. For the flat roads, v-brakes more than suffice, but yes.... hydraulic or even cable disc brakes would be far better in any situation.
