    Those Hyper Ebikes are awesome-looking and a fun ride for the price. Especially when they're on special.

    I bought the blue city 700c step thru version - I'm very impressed with the range and performance given the low specs and for only 400 bucks. Makes a great cheap commuter that I don't have to worry about leaving locked up outside during my shift.

    Hi, I'm planning on buying this bike, but pls may you tell me if this bike can move without pedalling, and if yes pls could you tell me the max speed it can go without pedal just full electric power?

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  6 місяців тому

      Hi there, the bike is only pedal assisted and will not roll without pedaling unless you're rolling down a hill. No throttle capabilities for this bike.

  • @katbandit3190
    @katbandit3190 5 місяців тому +1

    Can it be ridden without the motor turned on? If so, is there resistance from the motor gears when pedaling?

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  4 місяці тому +2

      Yes it can be ridden with the motor turned off. You won't feel resistance per say but you do feel the weight of the bike. Raphael, the owner of this ebike likes to ride with the motor off until he needs it for climbing hills.

    My bike is awesome I bought the Shimano electric bike and the wire at the bottom of the wire got cut too close to the black box and it's the blue wire and now how do I fix that?

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  8 місяців тому

      If I'm understanding you correctly, it sounds like you have a cut in the wire? If so, you'd have to extend it with the same gauge wire. I would use solder to connect the wires instead of crimp ties just so the connection is secure. That or, take the bike to a shop that works on ebikes.

    Everyone needs a push or pull sometimes. That Wally World bike would be decent with a front fork upgrade with disc brakes.

    • @FirstTimersCycling

      Our friend clocked around 25mph on the fastest gear with high assist. I believe assist stops at that point to conserve power, then it's all legs.

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  8 місяців тому

      I wouldn't advise it. The battery doesn't last as long unless you are mainly riding on flat ground. Any hills you would ride throughout your routes would kill the battery.

    • @FirstTimersCycling

      @@kevinsanchun2052 Good! Yeah the motor has a lot of power, the only thing is during climbing hills, the gearing needs to be bigger in the back or smaller in the front to be able to climb better. You'd have to stand and crank up hills. All in all, great starter bike!

    • @FirstTimersCycling

      Didn't have Strava running at the time but the hill is less than 1/4 mi approximately with at least a 20% grade that feels like it gets steeper.

      @@FirstTimersCycling it blows my mind how much these e-bikes assist with what translates to a very low power output. The 250w/500w peak motor on the hyper e-ride translates to a peak power output of 2/3 hp.
      And it pushes 250-300lb up these 10-15° inclines so easily it's astonishing.

    • @bryantitus6634

      @@FirstTimersCycling I'm looking to get one for running northeast fireroads in and out for hunting and fishing access with the possibility of towing a kayak or game cart in with tree stands or harvested deer in and out.
      Looking at running a Class 1 e-bike that has no throttle option as some of these roads may or may not actually prohibit e-bike/motor vehicles and I'm trying to kinda stretch the rules a bit. Obviously I don't want a dual 1,000w hub motor setup with throttle option and 30+mph top speed and blatantly be ignorant of the regs. These are roads that are allowed to have regular bicycles on them and having one that needs to be pedaled to operate I feel I may get some leniency. And family bike rides for towing the little one around in the bike-stroller would be way more enjoyable on an e-bike too.
      The northeastern states are a bit behind on accepting e-bikes. It's very much a west coast and southern thing as bicycles are able to be run 12 mo of the year where we definitely don't have that capability up north.
      These same fire roads Im referring to are snowmobile permitted access roads with snowcover. That's not a thing at all where most southern bike trails are.

      @@bryantitus6634 It really is amazing and this bike is being offered at such a low price it's almost hard to pass up. This bike isn't meant for climbing though so keep that in mind. It can do it, but it will drain that battery quick!

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  2 роки тому +1

      @@bryantitus6634 Interesting, yeah would have recommended something stronger for hauling or towing like a Bafang 750 or 1000W mid-drive but like you said, it would be blatantly obvious it's a motorized bicycle at that point. The Hyper E-Ride looks very much like a regular bicycle and the rear hub drive is small enough to blend in with the rear cassette, almost unnoticeable. If you watch our other videos with this bike, we do take it onto trails it's not meant to be on lol. It does it, just doesn't do it well with the stock components. It's a trooper though! No parts broken yet!

      🤣😂 Don't hate bro! lol. You like climbing we like downhills but it's still cycling. He used some cheap brand tubes but on this episode he was using my Continental tubes and it still popped. We were thinking it's because the sidewalls of his Continental Mountain King tires were weakened when he tried riding it flat on the Victory Trailhead ride causing the tubes to pinch on the rims everytime we ride now lol.

    He says cassette. Is it really a cassette or freewheel. 7 speed freewheel gets to 32T maybe 34T

    • @FirstTimersCycling
      @FirstTimersCycling  11 місяців тому +2

      Yup it's a cassette. I believe it's a 14-28T rear cassette 7-spd. The front however is a 36T if I'm not mistaken, so the gearing is not sufficient for uphill climbs. I'm not the owner of this bike so I don't know the exact numbers of the sprocket sizes but I'm sure that it's close.

      You know what, I was researching info on the bike and I actually don't know if it's a freewheel or a cassette until we take it apart. But in any case the sprocket sizing I stated before is still pretty close if not right on the money.
