11. H145 Tutorial MSFS 2020: Autopilot GTC & GTC.H (Hover) - GTC.H often gets you out of trouble.

Its not perfect, but it's a decent illustration of the theory. GTC is 'Ground Trajectory Command' (I have not idea!) The important thing is that GTC.H brings the aircraft to a hover and locks out any lateral movement. You will still however need to set the altitude using the collective. I gather than GTC.H has its uses in say winching as small movements are possible using the cyclic beep trim. In essence, a click on the beep trim offers a small lateral movement, one step at a time, although you can press the buttons for longer and the effect is greater.
I have yet to work out what GTC does apart from it is suitable for taxiing. The theory is that GTC is like hover mode but the inputs are permanent on the beep trim. There is enought here to show what should be happening, but I need to go back and adjust my sensitivities and look at whether I should be cancelling the Autotrim. (That's as far as I am on this one thus far). GTC is useful in landing where you can reduce the IAS speed and the Altitude, come to a hover by pressing the GTC.H button, and then return to GTC mode to get broader movements.

Thanks for doing these tutorials, I'm sure they will help many. I'm fairly new to the H145/MSFS as well. I found the GTC is very similar to using A.TRIM when you click left/right bank - watch the speed foe when it's slowing down and also watch the banking % on the right display (top middle yellow triangle) Don't over click.. I find GTC useful for taxing with the two dials mapped to two hats on my X52pro.

Hello.
I really enjoyed the video for hovering practice.
I did manage to map a key on my Joystick for the GTC function with "TOGGLE ENGINE 3 ANTI ICE" from the MSFS commands which are listed in the "H145 Key Bindings" table.
But I did not find how to map a key for the GTC.H function.
Any help would be appreciated.
