- What's up everyone! In this video ill be bringing you ALL along with me as I try out the Griots Garage Ceramic Wash & Coat... the idea behind this is to be able to not only Wash, but as you Wash add a layer of SI02 protection. Either to maintain an existing protection that's on your vehicle or even as a foundation layer of base protection!! Does it work?? Just used this last weekend followed with a coat of 3-in-1. Very pleased with the result, especially considering how easy the entire process was.

I've used this several times, and it's worked well. Just make sure to use the correct dilution ratio from the bottle. I also do not use it in a foam cannon. Great vid!

Hey Smurf. Great video. This is one of those videos I can use showing how to clean and protect your vehicle for folks that just want to take care of their cars. Griots does make superior products. Last spring I bought a new zero turn lawnmower and put 3-1 ceramic wax on the inside of the mower pan. Almost nothing stuck to the pan. Pretty darn cool. Tough stuff. Wow it sure looks nice outside by you. Tell the 49ers to pack their thermo long underwear this weekend. They'll need it. Lol. Super nice of you to clean up your dad's car. Your a good son. Again, great video!
Don't mow the grass when it's wet and the blade pan won't clog up!
Hey Kim! Absolutely a fantastic idea. This stuff is great for adding protection by just simply washing. Nothing fancy needed, just wash and dry! That 3-1 wax is probably the best spray sealant around 20 dollar range for sure! Oh, they better bring more than that! It's gonna be a hell of a temp to play in! We got this! Lol I hope🤣🤣🤣

@@billy2bob63 yeah that's pretty hard to do. My lawn is very lush and retains moisture pretty good. Occasionally during dry spells it drys out, but mostly damp.

I bought this stuff when it initially came out and was not very impressed. The protection it leaves behind is great, but the cleaning abilities are almost non existent. Granted this was before Griots said not to use it as an initial wash. They have since "reworded" on how to use it. However, it does have its use. Great video brother and keep it up!

Yeah this is a maintinence was for me. If the car "looks" dirty id use a higher lubricating soap first and follow up with this like a shampoo and conditioner combo

Griots rock! I just did my second coat last week. Then used their speed shine as a drying aid. Makes my car shine like crazy! Didn’t like the smell of speed shine tho

That 3-1 is the bomb!!!!!! I put it on my Hyundai Tucson in December 2021. Tucson is outside 24-7 here in Oklahoma so we will see!
This video got me excited to try my own bottle of the Ceramic Wash and Coat in the spring. I got it towards the end of the season and now it's way too cold where I am (in the teens today....VERY cold) so I am only doing rinseless washes in my garage right now. I also still haven't tried the Ceramic 3 in 1 Wax but that is next on my list to get a bottle of. Sounds like that 3 in 1 Wax is one of the best Griot's chemicals to come out in the past several years. Griot's has been knocking it out of the park here lately with introduction of new and innovative products. They have definitely upped their game. They just released some more Ceramic products.

I agree with your assessment of the lack of lubrication and when I used it, it felt like I was washing my car in water. Very litte suds...in fact, I kept adding more soap and went though half a bottle because of the lack of suds. All in all? Jist like every other griots product, it out preformed my expectations. I think I prefer the pink version of the griots car wash, but this did provide a great hydrophobic layer. Also used the speed shine with the syntetic clay bar and the 3 in 1 cermaic wax! Very happy with the results!

@Dhala Detailing Good to hear man! Hmmm.. I'd like to think it could be used on all 3 of those. Only thing I haven't tested was how well it adds protection without hindering hydrophobics.. or changing them. But I imagine it won't turn a beader into a sheeter.

I had a coat of the 3 in 1 spray that I put on mints ago and it it with the wash and coat with the foam canon and it boosted the finish like crazy. Amazing 👍🏼

Would be a great addition for quick maintenance or quick protection as you wash!!! Really works well!!! Not tons of lubrication so moderate to light soiling I'd be 100% confident in using as a wash solo... if heavy dirt debree... I'd wash with a ph neutral soap with no protection first✊✊ but you saw how dirty the BMW was😁😁 worked great!!! Appreciate you watching!!!
Nice video. My guess is once you removed the road film, the slickness from the original 3-1 wax showed its glory again. Any road grime on the paint, will always slow down the beading. I am not saying the foam cleaner doesnt add anything. It obviously does. :) I have seen some really good reviews on the 3-1 wax. I called griots and the rep told me it was a true ceramic and to remove it completely it has to be polished off. I am excited about trying it. This was also a great video showing the possibilities of how long it can last. Thanks for a great review!

I put two coats of 3 in 1 on my new GTI and followed up a couple weeks later with the wash and coat and the water literally jumps off the car. It has even coated the concrete driveway and the water beads up and runs off the driveway out to the street. 😂
Additionally you are supposed to foam gun the wash and coat onto the car from the bottom up. My car is black and it definitely makes a difference as going from the top down left a few streaks that I had to wash off

Griots wash and wax is an awesome product to use even when it’s fully dirty . No need for suds at all . Just because there’s no suds does not mean it’s not a good soap , it’s not meant to sud up . There’s plenty of lubricant in the solution . I use it weekly and it performs perfectly fine . Again it’s not designed for sud making . Foam guns and suds are cool and all haha but damn , that’s not what cleans the vehicle. It’s the lubricant it produces AND the protection it leaves behind is hard to beat… water even beads off my concrete driveway , that says it all lol

Have 3 in1 on the car. I used the wash and coat since my car was not that dirty. I then put on a other coat of ceramic 3 in 1... I cant help but think that it creates a poor base for the 3 in1 ..almost day it makes the 3 in1 last less.
That's very interesting 🤔 I didn't check hydrophobics right after applying the 3-1 but it sure made the surface slick. Maybe there is a little cure time on the wash n coat?? Could possibly explain not propper binding? I'll have to get the BMW back in a month or 2 and see how its holding up. Appreciate your input Rob.. and thanks for tuning in!👍
My question is, how long does it last and does it last as long as traditional wax?
I'm very curious myself.. states for up to 12 months when prepped right and allowed propper cure. However, most AIO products are usually 2-3 months.. so I'm eager to see what this stuff will do. Of course many variables play a part but if this stuff gets to 6 months that's Fantastic... Griots Ceramic products have not let me down. There 3-1 spray wax is easy 6 months. So I'll be sure to update you guys!🤜🤛
I just used this stuff and don't like it, it is not low suds it is no suds. Thanks for you video as it confirms I was not doing anything wrong. The cleaning and protection is no doubt there, but no suds = no thanks. Maybe I will just mix the rest of this with the pink stuff. I just felt like I was washing my truck with a plain bucket of water, and I don't like that.
Id have to agree with your! I don't like the fact of no suds, and lubrication. Great protecting properties but it should be used as a final protection step imo.. stay is washed foam and rinse👌. Thanks for taking the time to watch!

The only issue I’ve had is that the windshield treatment makes my wife’s wipers chatter… tried replacing the wipers but it’s just not what she wants… so now I need to find a way to remove it… any hints??

I bought their 3 in 1 wax. I havent tried it yet. Do you have any recommendations for using it? I also have their leather cleaner. Its a great brand.
Griots is definitely a great brand👍👍 for the 3-1 wax just make sure to really clean and decontaminate the paint. Application is very easy as it will pretty much flash away. Wait 24hr and apply a 2nd coat I'd needed but I've seen great results with the 1 coat. Letting that 1 coat cure for at least 24hr before getting it wet. You'll be good! Maintenance wash and top with ceramic speed shine for unlimited protection 🤜🤛

Hows the slickness after drying with just the soap?
Slickness is for SURE there. It's not like wiping down with ceramic speed shine however a solid 6-7 out of 10. 10 being silky smooth

Erick, so I've been using the Wolfgang Uber Rinseless wash and love it. Both the regular and the Si02 version. Also, check out the Griots Briliant finish Rinseless wash as well.. it's awesome. Another staple is the ONR Optimum No Rinse 👍👍 any of those will do the trick!

Honestly, I suspect that ceramic washes like this simply rejuvenate a coating that is already in place. The true test would be on a vehicle with no protection and see how long it lasts as a standalone.
Well, this BMW isn't coated.. 9 months ago I put the ceramic 3-1 wax on it. Out of all the " ceramic " washes I've used this one actually put protection on the paint. I will 100% say this. How long it lasts ehhh.. I'm not worried about the durability of a car wash as 95% of people will be using this to maintain protection ya know?

I was just thinking the hydrophobic properties were more a result of the left over 3 in 1 wax since it is ceramic infused also. I once thought my TLC 2 had failed after 3 months, but after I used a ceramic wash soap it worked like a champ for 3 more months.

Oh I totally know where your coming from as far as reviving existing protection 👍 sometimes, as you said the dirt can mask hydrophobics of pretty much any protection. This is a low sudsing soap.
Absolutely! Doesn't mean it doesn't work. However I wouldn't trust this as a cleaning soap. More of a light soiled soap or a spray and rinse LSP before drying. Great product!
You’re trying too hard, Hybrid Solutions Wash and Wax works better and is cheaper. The best way is to foam soak the car with something like Meguiars Gold Class and then use HS wash and wax. Dry with a drying aid like Flex Wax and you’re done. Hey worry about dad’s car more.
What do you mean by trying to hard 😄 I've used both the hybrid solutions and this griots takes the win as far as protection ans visible hydrophobics in my opinion. Love the hybrid solutions line so no knock there. Although this griots is definitely not a " washing " shampoo. I wouldn't use it to wash a dirty car first. A 2nd step foam after a wash would be perfect.
