I've been using this product for about 5 months now. I think it performs quite well for adding a topper during a maintenance wash. My process is to foam with a normal pH neutral soap, like Adam's mega foam, do the contact wash with that. Then foam again with the Groit's wash and coat. Allow it to dwell for no more than a minute. It doesn't take long for the product to transfer. Rinse and dry. If you allow the Groit's to dry on a panel you will have high spots that are not able to be removed with soap alone. I've had that happen twice. Applying more wash and coat also does not remove the high spots. This tells me that it is in fact a hard coating. A little polish in a micro fiber easily removed the spots though.
Thanks I will also use this process, contact wash with a very foamy soap then with the griots wash and coat I will soap and rinse without contact after a minute in the shade.
I highly recommend you add an Oz of ONR or other rinseless wash to the dilution, if you're planning on handwashing. This will give you the added lubricity that's lacking in the Griots Ceramic Wash and Coat, while still providing all the protection benefits.
Good review buddy. I actually just bought a bottle of this product direct from Griot's Garage about 2 weeks ago or so but I haven't had the chance to use it yet. Excited about using it on my sports car which is polished to perfection and has Polishangel Viking Coat as the base coating and Viking Spritz as the topper. Both products have high concentrations of silica and Titanium Dioxide so I figured this would be the perfect wash being an Si02 infused washing product. Seems to foam up much better than most Si02 based soap products, many of which don't have any foam at all to them, similar to an ONR type of product. So for an Si02 based soap/quick sealant type of product, that seemed pretty good to me. This looks to provide great hydrophobicity for sure both beading and sheeting. Looks to be the current "king" of wash and coat type of products. You are correct in saying that most of the Si02 soaps don't leave any noticeable "protection" on the paint. I've tried several of them and found that everyone of them that I have tried left nothing noticeable on the paint as far as protection. The only exception being Griot's other foaming coating product....FOAMING POLY GLOSS. That stuff DOES work and definitely leaves a protective layer. You use that in a foam cannon. It looks to be a similar product to the wash and coat here, but it's designed specifically for a foam cannon application with their BOSS FOAM CANNON System of foaming soaps. As far as a pre-rinse to get the heavier dirt and traffic film off, maybe use a more alkaline soap as a "pre-rinse" in a foam cannon, let it sit for a few minutes, then follow up with this product. The protection realistically will probably only last 2 weeks at most. Will be interesting to see how long the durability will be on this product. Finally a company actually created some soaps that actually do leave protection behind. Congrats to Griot's Garage for making another superior product.
Yeah I was really impressed with the coating this stuff left behind. My truck is coated with Cquartz UK 3.0. I typically use Carpro Hydro2 to wash and coat, which is really good too, but it’s good to know I can use this stuff too to give a little added protection. I bet griots can be used as a rinseless wash too if you dilute it down a little farther. Thanks for watching man, love the comments!
@@TurnerMobileDetailing Yeah, Hydro2 is on another level. I used those Spray and rinse with a pressure washer products too with good success. Sonax Spray and Seal is a pretty good one. I have also used Auto Finesse's version of it and McKee's as well. Most of them are really good for adding "instant" protection. I especially love those type sealants on the wheels and plastic parts such as grille's and plastic trims. Places you aren't going to wax, seal, or coat normally but those spray and rinse sealants work great for those areas. Another couple areas those work great are wheel arches and undercarriages. Essentially you can "coat" the entire vehicle exterior, anywhere you want! They are a great product to use in those "unique" areas where conventional sealants/coatings won't work. They provide about a month of protection and then you just top it up again for endless protection in those areas! I buy that stuff by the GALLON or 5 liter bottles!

That stuff is super easy to apply, doesn't leave any high spots or streaks, and leaves a crazy glossy protective finish. Honestly the Griots Ceramic 3-in-1 is also pretty insane, can be applied by spray and rinse, and leaves a crazy amount of gloss and protection that actually can last for longer than regular sealants. However it's a little more finicky than Gyeon Wet Coat, and can leave high spots, streaks, and haze if over applied, or allowed to dry before rinsing. I got so excited with the results the first time I used it, I immediately applied a second spray and rinse application and was left with this white residue haze all over the paintwork that was a bitch to knock down and buff out with microfiber towels. Really took some elbow grease and effort to knock it down. The result was still phenomenal, but man what a bitch if u screw up.
I just bought this and tried it on my black Denali for the first time tonight and I'm super pleased with the results. Very shiny. I was a little skeptical about the no foaming at first but it did a really good job and didn't leave water spots.

I let it dwell for 1 min and rub it in, washed it off, leaf blow access water and used the ceramic speed shine as a drying aid. Incredible results!
Just bought this stuff. It's my 3rd full detail this weekend. I can barely walk lol. Getting old. I will say I love my kranzle and I wash 100% with DI water. This is the way. I'll wait for some shade. Not sure if you have tried superior cherry foam. It's $12.99 a gallon and man it foams like crazy. Doesn't have any sio2 or wax but good routine wash. I go thru a few gallons each season. We will see how this stuff does. Carry on bro.
@@TurnerMobileDetailing they are a commercial company that mainly does chemicals for auto washes but oreillys has a deal with them (you will normally have to order not in store but at least for me it comes in a day). I have used a lot of different soaps for the $$$ it's really good. Let me know if you try it. Interested to see what another detailer thinks of it.
I used this stuff on my 2005 911. It's had Adam graphine ceramic coating on it. It gives gloss and great added protection. I even used this on my shower doors. Shower door r coated with Adam's graphine ceramic spray coating and water just runs off and no water spots. I even used on my shower walls and floor tiles. It's beading like crazy.
Question, when you say not in direct sunlight, would cloudy days, morning or evening when the sun is below the trees be sufficient? Will be using this on a camper.
Chemical guys released their version I think up to a year before Griots.... I am a Griots guy, however, I did give the Chemical guys product a try, and even before I had even heard of the Griots product I was really not impressed with the Chemical Guys stuff. Do keep in mind this is intended as a supplement for a car that has already had their 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax applied. I am a detailer at a BMW dealership and I have access to a very high power pressure washer... I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 4000PSI as well as a wind tunnel. The way I use it is first I very thoroughly remove all debris with the pressure washer, then hand wash it bucket style, then rinse with the pressure washer. I then fully dry the car in the wind tunnel for 10 minutes+ and basically I dont even have to touch it during the drying process
Yeah I’ve been meaning to film a test of the CG version of ceramic shampoo, just haven’t had a chance to do it yet, I don’t do a ton of straight up car washes alone, but your impression is interesting. Unfortunately most “wash and wax” shampoos don’t do much or anything in my opinion, but the griots is impressive when used correctly. That’s a lot of PSI you have access too, I’m sure you stay far enough from the surface to be safe. But having a wind tunnel must be cool, a lot more worry free that working in the sun in the summer! 😂
@@TurnerMobileDetailing the reason i like Griots is that usually their product claims are pretty accurate. I used to use the purple rinseless wash and wax, that is an awesome product as well. Yeah I'm pretty spoiled... I work for a large dealer group and we have many dealerships, but somehow I got lucky and ended up where I am... its a brand new dealership, sometimes the boss sends me to the other lots and their facilities are garbage... I told him he shouldn't have started me at the nicer lot, now I don't want to.work at the others
Excellent review, i think it loses something if you cannot trust it to clean.. otherwise a product like hydro blue spray and rinse might save you time. Just my thought
True, but this review was to see how this stuff performs on its own. Plus when a company states something like that, I feel they’re just trying to push more of their products.
So...if someone DID wash ther car with this in the direct sunlight and got the same water spits all over the place...which quick detailer did you use and would you try buffing them out with something else or stick to the detailer :)
The first time I use this stuff I experimented with it in the sun, BUT I was also playing with dilution ratios, so I was using more than the recommended product amount. But I did pay for it. The spotting that occurred in the sun was bad. I could not just buff it off dry, I had to use a quick detailer to reactivate the spots. At the time I used The Last Coat Amp and worked fine, but any will do. You can use Griots Speed Shine if you want to keep it in the family, but just as long as it’s a ceramic detailer so it reactivates the ceramic component in the shampoo. If possible though, I would avoid using this stuff in the sun completely.

I don't understand why everyone complaining about this product being slick doesn't make life easier and just tell the audience to mix regular snow foam and griots garage Ceramic wash and coat together and boom 1 wash save time
I use drying towels that are designed for just that, and won’t scratch or swirl, no matter what color paint, as long as the vehicle is cleaned properly before drying it.
What did you use to get the streaks off? I’m having a hard time getting rid of the streaks as I’m typing this! I’m using the Griots ceramic speed shine as the bottle recommends but still not taking them off too good 👎🏻

It's high PH soap and it's not designed to clean heavy dirt or grime. Don't expect what is not designed for.

Foam ruins the ceramic that’s why the ceramic wash is low foaming
When you pressed the drying towel against the side of the bed I grimaced 😬 Black is so unforgiving showing swirling in sunlight.
