You pointed it out but I have to reiterate how sterile this "underworld" is. No one taking spice, no dancers or ladies o' the night walking around, no one getting shaken down or threatened who didn't "have it coming". Everything is mild, which doesn't fit the theme.
Hot take: we don't actually need a preset character that quips all the time. This kind of game would benefit from a silent, but fully customizable, protagonist.
Ah, you mean like.... KOTOR? They should probably get Bioware or Obsidian onboard. They both did some banger SW RPGs back in the day. I bet they could do it again.
Always great to see another SaintMillion video. Recently had an idea for an Attack of the Legends video: What are some of the major and maybe more obscure plot threads that never got concluded as a result of the continuity change under Disney? Always thought it'd be interesting to get more details on them.
This review has done a great job of making me not wanna play this game. I don't think Ubisoft is gonna give you a free key to any of their games ever again.
Yeah that looks about as "barely ok" as all the 3rd person action adventure Star Wars games have been in the last decade or so. Really miss the diversity we used to get with each new release. On the flipside, I love seeing new vids from you, man. The production quality on the last few have been particularly great!
I feel like people aren't talking enough about how this teeny tiny little girl just walks up behind fully armored soldiers and boops em on the top of their helmet and they fall down. Left hook then right hook is enough to lay out the literal military. It would look silly if it was Rambo, it looks outrageous with this character model. Why couldn't she just have a club or something?

The main character is more believable as a girl scouts, troop leader, or a cheerleader than a actual. You know dark and gritty smuggler. It was absolutely unbelievable
I think you hit the nail on the head. It felt too squeaky clean. Especially like I said the main character. She was not believable that she would be surrounding herself with you. The biggest problem with Star Wars games today, and honestly the entire franchise, is that Disney/Lucasfilm try to pretend that the early 2000's expansion of understanding of what Star Wars could be that came with the prequels and the projects that released around their time never happened. Outside of a few outliers, they're building games and shows specifically pandering to a surface level appeal Star Wars had 40 years ago. This Force Awakens-esque obsession with themes, ideas, and aesthetics that have already been explored dozens of times throughout the decades, and the reinforcement of the idea that those things are all what Star Wars should ever be. Games that expanded the idea of what themes and tones could appear in big Star Wars projects like Republic Commando, KOTOR, or 1313, what was slated to be an M rated open world scoundrel/bounty hunting TPS, would never be allowed today because the creatives currently in charge would argue "this isn't Star Wars." So you get games like this. PG-rated, thematically watered down slop that's obsessed with a character archetype from the OT.
There is nothing unique or inspiring about this game to me and it just feels hollow. Ubisoft's game design feels like a dull cookie-cutter, it gets the job done but it produces a misshapen blur of a better product. It also baffles me how gamers can defend this. Just because they spent time and money doesn't mean it deserves praise.
If I was 12 years old Id probably have a hell of a time with this game, there's nothing wrong with games that are really only going to impress a child. I used to play every fucking Lego game back in middle school, but no way in hell that'd ever interest me these days. Let the children have their fun

It wouldn't have helped anyway. You need to change the developer, and the whole game, not the main character.
Phantom Menace on PS1 offers more freedom in it's 4-6 hours than Outlaws does in it's 20-40 and that's a fucked up thing to have to type.
Jedi Academy's missions structure feels absolutely like a open world game. And it's have better gameplay, and story, and characters.

Yet another 'cute and quirky' companion character. At least BD-1 and Grogu (before Mando Season 3) had plot purposes that made sense, imo.
