I got an hour this evening after a shit day to play Starfield. I wanted to upgrade my ship. Took me 5 mins to work out how to get back to New Atlantis, took me 5 mins to grav jump from system to system to get there (just loading screen after loading screen). Landed (another loading screen), the spoke to the fellow in the star port thing. Spent a good 15 minutes trying to upgrade the ship, could not select things, could not see how to upgrade, could not see how to click things into position… after 20 or 25 mins I wanted to cry. Realised the star port didn’t have the concealed hull thing I wanted. Spent 10 minutes working out how to get where I needed to be and jumping there (loading screen after loading screen). Arrived at Porima (I think it was called). Was instantly accosted by pirates and within 15 seconds blown to pieces. About then, my wife announced that had been an hour and it was time to go do something else. This game is an absolute piece of garbage and is zero fun to play. Complete waste of money and I wish I’d never bothered.
My save file says 127 but I truly wonder how I got to sucb a number when I barely do anything. So much time is wasted in menus and inventory, it's quite ridiculous

I like the ship building, but there's really no gameplay reason to get into it. I like how the settlement building has been revamped, but it's never properly explained how to make it work, how to get enough materials to do things with it, and after building my first one, I never felt the need to go back to it since I had everything I needed in my cargo hold.
I find No Mans Sky base building suffers from this. That game has nearly unlimited planets, is really about exploring, and I found building a base to be just a novelty since there was no reason to stay there or go back.

Skynet and the classic fallouts arent bethesda theyre interplay and black isle, its curious why u didn’t use synths as ur example seeing as that actually is Bethesda
You sound like a distinguished individual who has honed his taste and preferences for video games, largely by past experiences of playing titles that achieve greatness and set a bar or expectation for future titles regardless of the studio who makes them. Expect lots of disappointment from now on for the rest of your life. I wish I could go back to being 12 years old to experience this game without all of the expectations I have now as an adult.
the game is alright...l didn't need 300 HOUR GAME .....but they could have made the temples more interesting and made it so your companions dont constantly get in the way . The dialogue on repeat gets to be annoying, but if ou play through the missions it seems like a short game. Hopefully they improve the game down the line and they created some solid bones for a much more ambitious sequel.
except its a total downgrade from Fallout 4. Literally starting with the guns, the fact that only 2 weapons in the entire game are NOT Hitscans(the heavys), means that every gun feels the damn same incluiding energy weapons. Thats why you see the same exact black pellets come out of every gun. All melee weapons have the same 3 step combo. Every melee weapon is the same, pick a skin. Even Fallout 4 had VATS to take the good combat to the next level, now in Starfield the mediocre shouts are so boring and uninteresting compared to just having VATS. IDK what they were smoking at that studio, but this game was a huge downgrade from 4. Fallout4 companion cast had way more personality than ANY Starfield character in the entire game(I honestly dont know how anyone can sit through the lodge dialog and not fall asleep, its literally robots talking to each other, there is NO personality, no quirks, nothing memorable at all dude.....) Everyone even remembers Preston Garvey, he had his quirk, everyone remembers Valentine... Even from Fallout 3... Three Dog, Your Dad, Elder Lyons, the kids from Little Lamplight.... The adoring fan is literally from Oblivion... thats not Starfield original. So yeah, its not fallout 4 in space, its some crap in space. IDK how people cope with this game.
@@HookahOtaku So right off the bat. Its okay to like the game just like its okay to hate it 1. I used almost every gun and found them fun and different to use and match f4 for me but doesn't exceed it. 2 .Hated V.A.T.S in 4 because the gunplay was fine, in F3 it was absolutely necessary because the gameplay sucked. I wouldn't want it outside of maybe a drug but that's what slow time is for 3. Melee does suck but F4 wasn't much better but sure melee sucks 4. Companions do suck and I think they are all mid tier F4 companions at best. The romances are awful but so was 4s but yes they suck and they are the worst part of the game 5. F4 didn't have shouts so ill take em. Don't use em often just like in Skyrim 6. Quest writing sucked in fallout 4 and Starfield almost always matches or exceeds it. The dialogue is better in starfield and I hated the PC in 4 and the voice. Far harbour was better than Starfield but that's it. I enjoyed it and you didn't no need to pretend like it matters and people have to cope to enjoy it. What an odd outlook.
Starfield is actually terrible if you enjoy open world survival because it doesn't *actually* do any of the things that genre is good at, it just has the mechanics bolted on without a purpose. That's why the inventory is terrible; open world survival has inventory management as a core mechanic, but the game is built around that so that "what do I take home with me" is an important choice. Valheim is a relatively recent example of this done well; because of the "no metal in teleporters' thing, you have to transport ores and metal bars by foot or by boat. Meaning when you're on a metal run, everything you pick up that isn't ore is one more ore you can't bring home, and it might be a 40 minute trip there and back so you don't want to make extra trips. But they didn't just add that in to add tedium to the game; that WHOLE THING is there to encourage/force you to explore and use the boats! Which are *FUN*. Plus it adds tension and excitement to a loot run. Rust does something similar except it's the players adding the tension; if you're playing on a populated PVP server (the only way to play really) then every time you leave your base to gather materials, you're running the risk of being ganked; so you might want ot gear up, but that's less stuff you can carry, and the better you're geared up the more likely you are to be targeted for your gear on some servers. But at the end of the day you can only carry so much, and you have to go outside, where you're forced to interact with other players; which is the fun part of the game. Starfield does none of this. Too much loot? Pack it all on and walk back slowly, or dump it on a corpse and make a couple quick trips back and forth.
I have had no serious bugs in starfield .. i love exploring on planets and the random encounters. Combat is very fun included the space fights. When i bought Cyberpunk and after playing awhile, the frame rate was bad in combat, lucky they fixed their game. I hope Starfield will do the same.
Cyberpunk was an amazing game that just had technical issues because it released too.early.. Starfield is a bad boring game.. They can't fix that lol.. The game sucks
Man, the Red Mile was absolute flop. So MUCH buildup, so much times my companions would mention that it's stupid, it's suicide and so on. Man, i was at a game finish, i was avoiding it like plague until i started Ranger quest where they forced me to run it. I even left Sam Coe alone, because i wouldn't put him in danger like this, knowing about Cora. I was expecting some sort of deathmatch with multiple enemies and so on, especially considering Very Hard.. Something like arena in Nuka Cola DLC in F4. My imagination went wild.. and before my imagination skyrocketed.. some shitty blue dog desperately trying to bite me.. i am like - is that really happening? And after realizing that i don't get any XP from killing them (and they have fuck ton of HP on them) i just neutralized them all with Nova EM gun. And then another one, and another one, another one.. I never seen anything more boring than this RUN. And then when i returned, i wasn't even phased by the fact no one gave a fuck about it. Neither i give any fuck to any of this. It's mutual. Meta storytelling and writing. My only thought was - how many losers actually died there. How would they possibly die there? Were they lack of any limbs or just brain damage.. So bad..
I hoped for Elder Scrolls in space, I got Fallout in space. Their answer to the Fermi paradox is simply lazy - there isn't anyone else because there never was. The could have run with mysteries like the disappearance of the dwarfs. Bethesda dropped the ball.
I did not like it in fact it was so bad for me I quit after my ship had its 1st fight in space. The game was just not fun to me so I moved on and have had no desire to return.
My list of top issues with Starfield: -can’t kill so many NPCs, even ones you can eventually kill, you can’t kill them early -can’t side with bad guys -every constellation member and major companion is a good guy -can’t loot or pickpocket enemy clothes -running to alien temple on barren planet takes fucking forever -major companions constantly want to talk to you, every single one, after every quest -can’t join any any except two factions, and can’t become leader in any of them
You can side with the pirates but then you don’t fight pirates anymore (you can but prepare to pay a lot in bounties). Considering they are 90% of your enemies in a game where combat is your main activity it doesn’t work. Also you’re discouraged from consistently committing to become a pirate that uses the UC for enemies because you have to travel back to the Lodge or Eye so frequently. Also your companions will hate you, except the one you can get from the pirates. There are four total factions but one of them is a corporation that is totally isolated from the governments or leaders.
That's why I say Starfield is perfect for kids. You are the good guy, everyone around you is good guy, you can join bad guys but the game punishes you so you must be the good guy. Majority of villains are men, women are righteous or in position of leadership. No sexy women body shape, no prostitutes, must accept ugly NPC women because it is the politcally correct thing to do even Enhance! has the technology to change their face into attractive ones. Gays and lesbians everywhere because who cares about child birth and prolonging human civilization. No blood and gore, because family friendly and kids. Starfield is the perfect mature rating game made for kids. I mean indoctrinating and preaching to the kids.
13:14 - I love open world RPGs and sci-fi games but i really didnt like this game. It was boring, super easy and tedious. I played about 30/40 hours, got to the end then uninstalled at the realisation that NG+ meant i would have to go through the same BS all over again.
Yea very disappointed in starfield but ....I will say I have experienced very few glitches and no quest breaking ones, to be fair this is the least buggy Bethesda game, I got about 80 hrs in, not really interested in playing anymore and I haven't even done the main quest just the crimson fleet, and the UC questline .. oh and I haven't finished the UC one....and I'm just kinda like meh. I'll maybe come back in a few yes and see if modders can make this game fun.
I have not encountered any glitches with the single exception of having a pet asteroid. The game is solid and stable for me, probably the most stable bethy game I have ever played.
I lost interest in this game after the long trailers came out. I thought it looked like it was made around 2017, and looked like crap compared to Witcher 3, Crysis 2 and 3, and Death Stranding; games I had been playing to pass the time for another great Bethesda Open World RPG like "Starfield, TES6 or Fallout 5. The worst thing about seeing these reviews is that the flaws, bugs, glitches and empty narrative have only amplified and magnified what I had suppressed, ignored, overlooked and dismissed in Skyrim and Fallout 4. I have thousands of hours in Skyrim, which was my all time favorite game, and I don't know If I can ever play it again. I would be surprised if anyone involved in Bethesda game design has played one of their own games.
I was severely disappointed with this game.... Everything felt so half-assed, the firearms all felt wimpy and super jank, the story was beyond bland, the fast travel and multiple cutscenes in between.... The lack of real exploration.... I could go on and on but after fallout 4 and 76 I was not expecting anything revolutionary or "groundbreaking".
Bethesda has just leaned into what they do best .. they build a frame work for the moders, 6 months from now the creation kit gets released and the moders will be populating entire planets. You guys got no vision a year from now this game is what ever you want it to be.
@@_indrid_cold_ You bought a Bethesda Game on release and expected it to be at its full potential on day One? ... I think I hear Star Citizen calling your name. Is it really that bad, You have ground combat, space combat, a Game plus mode, over 100 hours on regular game play, an outstanding Ship Builder, Crafting and Outpost building ... how many games have even tried to give you all that on day one ... most games today you wouldn't get half of that until the 3rd paid-for expansion so just say Thanks and come back in a few months when I'm sure you will find all the mods to make it the personalised experience you were expecting.
@@logun24x7 You make terrific points there, which do indeed cause me to stop and re-assess things. Thank you. May I ask your opinion on something? Do you think that at some future time the game will, through mods or creation club or whatever delivery mechanism, be changed to the degree that it has, how can I put this, a “soul”? Right now it feels very “Weekend at Bernie’s”. Everything appears to be working, but it’s soulless. Skyrim and Fallout 4 definitely have a heart, a soul which arrests the player and puts you into the game. Starfield, though, is more like a visit to the waxworks museum. Can that be provided by a mod, or stack of mods? I would love to believe so. Thanks again.
@@_indrid_cold_ Define "soulless" ... soulless is a term that we pick-up from the internet and reuse when we want to express irrational disappointment ... ask 1000 gamers to define soulless and you'll get 1001 answers. I'm going to assume that what you mean is "empty" ... YES .. modders will take care of that .. of that I am certain ... If there is one flaw in Bethesda's design concept for the game, its while trying to make a game purposely built to be played for 20 years and a giant playground for modders to leave their toys in for the rest of us to enjoy, how to do that,.. and still make it a complete feeling game at launch is perhaps an impossible challenge to completely overcome.
@@logun24x7 Thanks again. Fair point well made about the term 'soulless', perhaps it was a lazy choice of word. Let me try again; when I first played Skyrim there was a sense of belonging in that world, a sense of being totally invested in the developments taking place in Skyrim and, perhaps critically, a sense of wanting to protect characters because I liked them and they made me care. I was bought in. I cared what Jarl Baalgruf had to say, I cared about making sure Lydia stayed alive. I wanted to clear the town of the nightmarish Miasma... and so on. For some reason I don't feel the same way about the story and characters in Starfield except maybe Andreja. I really hope you are correct in your predictions and you seem confident. Perhaps I just lack the imagination to envision a mod or mods which will re-sculpt the story (especially) and the Starfield world enough to make be believe I belong there. I say story 'especially' because look at what some genius did with Inigo! I suppose thats why I play games, in my old age, and don't design them.
_I'm_ not sure how _you_ could possibly stomach a game with _pronouns_ in it. -1,000/100, worst game ever created in the history of humanity. /s, in case it wasn't obvious.
Pronounces is not about the game. It is about control the way people behave and think. Conscious people do not tolerate any propaganda, especially when they payed for being entertained
@@umadbroimatroll7918 You used the pronouns "I" and "they" in your post. DId you use pronouns to cause controversy? No. Did Bethesda add pronouns to, I don't know, add some potential for roleplaying to their RPG? Maybe. Does an entitled right-wing culture warrior get to decide someone else's pronouns? That's a definite no... ad I thought such people were all about 'freedom'. Freedom to do what is the question, I guess.
So sad, no space elves, no space behemoth, no blue alien babes, no Liberty Prime in space, no necromorph, just empty dead space 😢
It's not even dead space, it's a menu that represents dead space....

I hoped they would fix the ATM nature of the dialogue in these games, but I guess that's just the "Bethesda Charm™" people have come to expect.

Skynet and the classic fallouts arent bethesda theyre interplay and black isle, its curious why u didn’t use synths as ur example seeing as that actually is Bethesda
Avowed, Clockwork Revolution, Fable, and South of Midnight are going to be better than Starfield, mark my word.
9:11 hell yeah
The streams were fun at least.
the game is alright...l didn't need 300 HOUR GAME .....but they could have made the temples more interesting and made it so your companions dont constantly get in the way . The dialogue on repeat gets to be annoying, but if ou play through the missions it seems like a short game. Hopefully they improve the game down the line and they created some solid bones for a much more ambitious sequel.
I was expecting fallout 4 in space and nothing else and I very very much enjoyed the game because of it
except its a total downgrade from Fallout 4.
Its okay to like the game just like its okay to hate it
1. I used almost every gun and found them fun and different to use and match f4 for me but doesn't exceed it.
2 .Hated V.A.T.S in 4 because the gunplay was fine, in F3 it was absolutely necessary because the gameplay sucked. I wouldn't want it outside of maybe a drug but that's what slow time is for
3. Melee does suck but F4 wasn't much better but sure melee sucks
4. Companions do suck and I think they are all mid tier F4 companions at best. The romances are awful but so was 4s but yes they suck and they are the worst part of the game
5. F4 didn't have shouts so ill take em. Don't use em often just like in Skyrim
What an odd outlook.
aye did you do any of the post game stuff? I know it doesn't fix any of your criticisms but was curious of your thoughts.
I appreciate what you're doing, Walter, but honestly...
04:45 Did he finally come?
You gonna do survivor?
Need sequel to death troopers
So bad..
i found this with 13 views, nice stuff
Red Harvest video when?
10:30: I think it’s a dying cat, this should not be a meme. Unless it’s a puppet or something and I’m not getting it
"intense attention to detail" is not something to be found in a modern Bethesda game.
I hoped for Elder Scrolls in space, I got Fallout in space. Their answer to the Fermi paradox is simply lazy - there isn't anyone else because there never was. The could have run with mysteries like the disappearance of the dwarfs. Bethesda dropped the ball.
This game is literaly an insult to all gamers!
✌
Yeah I won’t install mods on a Bethesda game - base game is buggy AF anyway.
I am happy playing it through game pass. It’s not a game to buy yet. 😂
Cyberpunk did the whole AI concepts, and racism-in-space deal better than Starfield …… and it didn’t even take place in space.
I did not like it in fact it was so bad for me I quit after my ship had its 1st fight in space. The game was just not fun to me so I moved on and have had no desire to return.
Im on xbox and there’s not many bugs or glitches. But the loading screens are annoying af.
Long time no C
It ain't a Bethesda game if it doesn't have game breaking bugs lmao.
My list of top issues with Starfield:
-can’t kill so many NPCs, even ones you can eventually kill, you can’t kill them early
-can’t side with bad guys
-every constellation member and major companion is a good guy
-can’t loot or pickpocket enemy clothes
-running to alien temple on barren planet takes fucking forever
-major companions constantly want to talk to you, every single one, after every quest
-can’t join any any except two factions, and can’t become leader in any of them
You can side with the pirates but then you don’t fight pirates anymore (you can but prepare to pay a lot in bounties).
The game is solid and stable for me, probably the most stable bethy game I have ever played.
death is spelled with an a
I lost interest in this game after the long trailers came out.
No DLSS.
Not hard enough on this shitfest.
I love starfield ❤
You love mediocore games... Great...
where star war zombies
The game isn't even open world.
This is worst AAA game ever. Worst on ANY level and action.
I think the problem was people her Starfield and they were stinking Star Trek or Star Wars or hybrid of both
They teased us this game for decades, then they shipped us a game that wouldn’t feel outta place decades ago
Bethesda has just leaned into what they do best .. they build a frame work for the moders, 6 months from now the creation kit gets released and the moders will be populating entire planets. You guys got no vision a year from now this game is what ever you want it to be.
Great can I have my £70 back then and I’ll pay for it in a year, because right now it’s poo.
That was pretty bland. I give this video a light 6/10.
_I'm_ not sure how _you_ could possibly stomach a game with _pronouns_ in it.
-1,000/100, worst game ever created in the history of humanity.
/s, in case it wasn't obvious.
I'm not fully convinced they didnt add them just to cause controversy that would detract from valid criticism of the game 🤔🤔🤔
Pronounces is not about the game. It is about control the way people behave and think. Conscious people do not tolerate any propaganda, especially when they payed for being entertained
@@Jackfromshack Pronouns are propaganda now? It sounds like you're the one that needs help.
Imagine playing a Bethesda game on release, you wanted this to suck.
I don’t have words to describe how much you disgust me
