I think the game would have hugely benefitted from creating your own character like Cyberpunk. From what I have seen the big appeal of this game is just existing in the universe of Star Wars, so being able to be who you want to be in that universe would have gone a long way.
That's not the point of the game though. It isn't a build your own toon type game. While I get what you mean, the point of this game is to tell a specific story from a standpoint the writers wanted. Now could they have done a little more on cosmetics and hair? Oh god yes they could have. (Among other things they could have done)
@@theboywonderxx5601How about this, if you could create your own character you could be a guy or girl therefore no issues. Also sorry to break it to you, whilst there are really good female fans of star wars the main fanbase is male so men are probably going to like playing a male character more, finally if you are comparing it to the jedi series with cal, then think about like this; Jedi fallen order and survivor are near flawless games, allowing people to look past issues like te lack of character customisation, however this game is more flawed therefore people are more likely to pick it apart. Also Ubi called this the first open world star wars game, i think, and one of the best aspects of open world games is creating your own character and feeling like part of the world; but sure its just cause all men are bigots and dont like strong female characters; *cough* padme *cough* leia *cough* mon mothma *cough* *cough*
@bwoahgeetee while I agree with you I personally don't agree with character customization being a key point of open world games. I've worked in the gaming industry for 35 years and have been thankfully a part of many star wars games as well as two non star wars open world games. Not all open worlds require character customization if you are telling a story. If people are complaining solely because the main character is a woman than I'm sorry to hear that but frankly that doesn't bother me. I have around 65 hours in the game (testing it's limits and literally everything mechanic wise) I truly think it is a solid 6 out of ten but nothing ground breaking. The reputation system was genuinely cool though. That said, the story is from the point of view of a woman finding her way in the galaxy and I think it did that alright. No typical Disney forced BS as some would say these days or acolyte stuff, it felt like star wars and was a needed minor win for the franchise.
Yeah, I guess but basically what they created was almost like assassin‘s creed black flag where it takes three hours to unlock the open world and it’s a lot of fun to be in the open world, but there’s still a story
Why do people who enjoy this game, give it an “ok” rating and expect people to think it’s worth 70 dollars, 100plus if you want the complete game. 🤦♂️
It came for free with my GPU when I built my PC. Anyways I feel like $70 is the standard pricing for all new AAA games so I don’t think that’s necessarily ridiculous.
@@-._.-._.-Sully-._.-._.- mediocrity is not worth 70 dollars. Gamers have gotten so used to the price that companies have effectively been able to brainwash people into thinking that this is all that 70 bucks can buy. The same crowd that was complaining about games being over priced with such bad quality when it was 50-60 bucks are now saying 70 bucks is standard for a mediocre game. 😂 which then means they’ve now opened up gamers into buying games at 80-90 dollars without the need to make quality games.
@@pilosopino23 I think the game is better than mediocre have you even played it? You guys like to complain about stuff just to complain without even playing the game, your yapping opinion doesn’t hold any validity. Yeah the standard price has gone up to $70 from $60 but that inflation for you it had been $60 an extremely long time. Also I have games pass ultimate I get most all my games for free minus a few I buy at launch and iRacing which is a subscription.
No joke, I want them to fully incorporate the intro Nar Shaddaa level of Jedi Knight into it lol. Including the classic bar tender line "Get out of my bar, you always cause trouble."
Access media compensation isn’t always monetary. It can include paid trips, exclusive media access for your content, goodie bags, etc. Did you ever accept any of those from the company?
I think a 7/10 is pretty fair, I’m about 10 hours in and I’ve genuinely enjoyed it so far. The environments are great, shooting dudes is fun, the stealth missions haven’t been as bad to me as people have said, and exploring around doing contracts for syndicates is fun. I haven’t had really any bugs so far. There are things I wish were different about it but for what it is, it’s a solid experience if you like Star Wars
7/10 is a bit generous. It's not awful, the fun moments I'd say are solid. Though it doesn't have enough of them for me to go much higher than a 6.5/10 or a 7 during its best moments. It'd be better if it wasn't so buggy.
Same here. We played genuinely janky and broken games and had fun and some of those game franchises changed for the better. But these kids who are hyper focused on 60fps and if it's 58 or 59 they cry and whine and say it's trash. If the game blue screens your pc or closes on consoles on every load that is a BROKEN game. After the past 30 years of gaming I truly think twitch and streaming is actually gamings biggest poison and where the root of alot of modern gaming issues stem from.
@@g36cvek To be fair, playing on a big flat screen with frame and vysnc drops, plus hitches and stuttering, is horrible. Our small crt's were far better at handling those problems.
Just because someone enjoys a game doesn't mean that they are being paid. Many people do enjoy this game. You may not, but there is nothing wrong with liking this game.
@@Atrail_Mckinley4786 Paid trip to Disneyland sounds pretty great. I certainly can’t just afford that, I’d have to PAY, like he was. Simply. You can’t take his opinions or reviews seriously anymore. All credibility has been lost.
my problems with the game are the ridiculous prices which is normal for Ubisoft lip syncing in the game is horrible. You can’t interact with any civilians of which takes away from it being immersive and with other things stuff gets annoying. It’s just the MJ missions from Spider-Man packed in the game, in a game would rather be playing as a Mandalorian or someone cool 4 out of 10
With that AI, it could've come out during the height of the Ray trilogy and it would still be garbage. Combat needed so much more than a pea shooter and old cover system and AI that runs up to you and places the barrel of your gun in their mouth and screams DOO ITTT. The entire game is mostly remember this planet from those cooler movies? Remember these cool aliens from those better movies? Remember Han Solo? isn't she cool like him but yet a strong, powerful Woman that doesn't need a Man or to have a Family, and you're such a great person for playing as her so enjoy being so socially aware, 🤣❤
the game also looks and plays like it came out 10 years ago. and we were actually supposed to get a crime underworld game called Star Wars 1313, but it got scrapped.
Without bugs I’d give it a 6/10. It feels like it’s not quite any of the things it’s trying to be. The stealth is fine but could be miles better. The gunplay is also fine but could be better. The accessibility options are broad but as a visually impaired gamer I found them notably lacking compared to other games. The level designs are great and the worlds are great, but you can’t give me an open world style ‘quest marker on top of a mountain’ if I have to circle the whole mountain to find the one climbable surface up to the stealth route. It’s like they started making a Jedi style action adventure game and just made the levels bigger and put some quests in. Which is perfectly fine so long as the levels are designed around that, which they aren’t. With the bugs though it’s a hard 4/10. Quests bugged out multiple times with either NPCs or quest items just not appearing where they should, multiple CTDs, camera sticking in the over-the-shoulder view when i leave a settlement and I can’t do anything other than walk around the world, and I’ve been on PS5 too so guess I’ve just been unlucky
My one thing if they did move forward with more content (which I would love) is to add more planets alongside the missions like why not add a mission on kamino to salvage something worth a lot of money or if they did do a sequel I’d want it to be co op so I can go on missions with friends.
The issue with open world games is that they tend to not have a compelling storyline. A compelling storyline grips you and then moves you along until the end. In open world you're supposed (and free do to so) to explore the world and not take the next step in the story. And if you do explore then this waters down the intensity of the story. If you only do story and then explore the exploration will be a letdown after the good story, because everything will now be lackluster - all the big shots have been fired. Some people might say that RDR2 is the opposite - but is it really? I've seen more than one streamer starting to explore and then dread to continue the main missions because they had a pretty good idea that things wouldn't get better for the gang but worse. Also: Hunting and fishing and generally enjoying the scenery isn't for everyone. Some people need action every 30 seconds or they get boooored. One thing I like with Outlaws is that is refrains from giving you a faked urgency. Like BG3 - you have these tadpoles! You must get rid of them. But take your sweet time. Or Fallout: You must find your son! But how about building a settlement first? Kay learns about the heist but there's no time window. She can pretty much mix in steps from the main story whenever she feels like it and ignore the main story for hours or even days. The only reprimand for doing so is ND-5 reminding her that she has a call to make whenever Kay enters the cockpit. The story is fine by me if you can accept a slightly naive and insecure Kay, learning the trade. Graphics and world building are very good. Combat is often a tad slow and a bit stale. The idea of not having a totally overpowered one man (woman) army is nice but things could have been more interesting. The AI is ... not very good, unpredictable and at times downright buggy. The melee is a bit ridiculous - she should have a shock baton from the beginning and then need to upgrade it for higher level enemies. The karate chops against armored people are ... strange. All in all I enjoy playing it and so far (not quite done yet) I'd give it a 7/10 or 8/10 because I like slow gameplay, exploration and side activities.

I think the game is part of a larger Ubisoft plan: Step 1: Make a substandard game that costs a lot. Step 2: Offer a $18 subscription option Step 3: Get people hooked on the subscription Step 4: Profit
Game is nice for people who wanna chill and have it easy. But for those who seek quality combat, graphics and story this is awful. Played it for 8 hours and I wish it was 15$ not 100$
@@crizzhutch1066Do you have proof that he is being paid by Ubisoft? People can enjoy a game. I liked it as well. Just because someone likes something doesn't mean they are being paid
He wasn't paid, and if it's not obvious by itself because you're blind I guess then it's also against youtube terms to be "secretly sponsored" So if you seriously think that act on it then and proof it shouldn't be that hard. Anyways I don't agree with him I mean how boring of a world would that be where everyone has the same opinion about a videogame.
What is sad is how I see more and more people being fine with mediocrity. No its not terrible, but its not good either. A company like Disney with all its resources making a game with a cant miss franchise should of produced an INCREDIBLE game, not some subpar showing. This is why so many are upset. It should be so much better, and until more people wake up realize it, they have no incentive to deliver better products.
Except that the game wasn’t made by Disney: it was made by Ubisoft with a license from Disney, which generally creates more problems than it fixes. The reason Marvel Vs Capcom had its roster crippled was because Disney was at war with Fox over the X-Men rights, thus demanded Capcom to omit certain characters: that’s why beloved characters such as Wolverine were removed. Heck, IIRC there was even a time Disney strictly forbid their artists at conventions to draw any Fantastic Four material. In short, the game wasn’t made with Disney money, rather Ubisoft had to pay extra to Disney for the license and for a lot of red tape that Disney would throw their way and which they would have to maneuver around.
As for the guards in Jabba's Palace ... the ion mod on the blaster is the solution against them. Hit them once or twice, close in and take them down with melee. Thy go down in seconds whereas they can tank normal blaster shots to an extreme amount.
If they do a sequel, we need Kay on Coruscant. The sad thing about Coruscant would be it would remind us of 1313, but we need to see more of the underworld of Coruscant. The loss of 1313 still hurts, but with Coruscant in Jedi Survivor, it definitely seems like it brought back a reminder of 1313.
It is a bug: on my savefile I live on wanted level 6 basically haha and the death troopers are non-stop hunting me down and stormtrooper roadblocks alongside AT-STs roaming the map until the wanted level 6 event is beat. At level 6 it never goas back down until you are arrested/killed or you have beaten the wanted level 6 event and it also disabled fast-travel.
I can’t believe Star Wars 1313 was canceled and we get slop like this. It’s not awful, just classic Ubisoft. Buggy, generic, and it has about as much depth as a kiddie pool.
this is a big improvement for ubisoft openworld design...probably the most detailed world and best exploration i've had since AC: origins. that said, the storytelling and combat don't stack up well compared to jedi: fallen order. but i still found myself having fun and 6 or 7/10 sounds fair. this game is getting hated by people who have a political interest in it failing or just want to join in the chorus of hatred from people who haven't actually played the game
FACTS.....tatooine is phenomenal. Jabbas palace was EPIC. Tusken raiders, Jawas to trade with, the Sarlaac Pit.....So many people hating are missing out on a great game. Has many flaws but the fan service is crazy. I think it def appeals to a certain audience though as well. I grew up in the late 80's and this reminded me so much of the original trilogy, i am really enjoying it.
@@JonDGAF Hit the nail on the head there, this is such a great throwback to the original trilogy while still being wholly it's own story. I think it is far better at succeeding at this, in both it's story and how they've designed world exploration, than people give it credit for and thus my rating is far higher than most peoples ratings.
This was the best, most objective review I think someone could make. I agree with literally everything you said, and it echoes my own sentiments about the game. Thank you for being objectively honest. ❤
I haven’t finished it yet but I’d give it a 6/10 I’m having fun it’s not crazy good or anything just a bad but fun game that’s enjoyable I’m definitely gonna continue with it and beat it and probably 100% it
Still thinking about whatever buy this game or not, but your video gave me some positive points about it. I guess this game is kinda "half-baked" right now, but with some patches could be an enjoyable game. Btw so good to see someone so calm and collected talking about such a controversial game still giving his thoughts and opinion with all the honesty of this world, really keep up the amazing work!
Really appreciate your rational take on the game. I have almost 3 days worth of play time in Outlaws basically trying to do everything I can and I had such a good time. While some of the criticism is valid, it’s hard to explain how quickly that melts away when you’re immersed in the Star Wars universe. It’s no game of the year, but definitely one of my favorite experiences this year and I’m glad to see more companies taking on the Star Wars license like this (instead of just EA lol). I’m looking forward to the DLC when it comes out in November!
8/10. Didn't really encounter any bugs other than my game crashing twice. I didn't like the strickness of the stealth, especially in the first few missions. Still playing the game after the story. Going to try snd 100% it and i just like traveling around the worlds and moving around the Star Wars universe.
I have 60 hours in the game (62) i fully agree with your reveiew and personallt would give the game a solid 6/10. The game has its problems but i recommend people think for themseleves and stop hating just to hate or because others do, or due to ubisoft reasons. If you trult dont like the game thats fine too as it is no where near an amazing game. Is it a solid step up from the Acolyte BS and actuallt feels like a Star Wars game? Yes it does and is! I played Dark Force Rising when it came out and srill had that level of fun in the game at points as i did then. Are there mechanical problems? Oh god yes its ubisoft. But t genuinely isnt a terrible game and is a slight win for LucasArts and star wars media (my old job) just nice to see an "okay game" instead of unayable crap.
i dont want to get it simply because of the price. it is absolutely INSANE to ask for such a price from a game like this, regardless of how good it is or not.
I think it's a 7/10 for someone who loves Star Wars and a 6/10 for someone's who's not super into Star Wars. All in all it's what I was expecting it to be and I'm having fun playing it. I'm finding it similar in gameplay and enjoyment levels to Ghost of Tsushima and Far Cry 5.
Such a good review honestly. Everyone is allowed to their own opinion, and I agree with what he said mostly. I think you should at least try the game before you judge it though, I would rate it a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. The main thing I do not like is the season pass. Subscriptions are for tv NOT games
This video convinced me to follow your channel. An honest bit of good/bit of bad review. Would love to see more reviewers doing this. Personally, I rate the game 8 out of 10, but I’m the kind of player looking for something outside of fps.
I also thought it would be cool that if you got arrested it would put you in an imperial base and you would have to escape. Would make getting arrested more high stake.
Andrew this why your my favorite Star Wars UA-camr you try to have the best out look on everything even if it really bad you still try to find something good about it and I’m glad you don’t crap on anything instantly becuase some big corporation made it
The feeling your experienced causing you to use the words 'BRUTALLY' and 'HONEST' in the video title and then highlight those words in all capital letters, is called GUILT. Wouldn't honesty in it's most brutal form be the default position anyway, a position not requiring emphasis?

I genuinely don't know where else to put this, but if you pick up a z-6 rotary Canon and check your inventory, you can apply it as a hidden appearance for your blaster that gives it a new look and the shield.
There's already a Game, where you can walk freely in an Open World on Tatooine : SW:TOR .. yes, no Single Player, but still... The rest, I pretty much agree on :)

My number one reason for not buying this game, no online mode, no changing weapons, no buying vehicles and ships or even stealing vehicles, for an outlaw she is horrible at being an outlaw… and the worse part a female Han Solo… there’s only one Han Solo…
8/10 game is really a lot of fun, sure it's got some flaws like I don't think you could just punch a stormtrooper in the helmet to knock them out, but for the most part stealth, combat, lockpicking, and even nix play very well
I've been playing it on ps5 and been loving it only bug I came across was that I fell through the map but I thought it was great all the same already on my 2nd play thro
Don't know if it's been mentioned already but you can actually take down the brutes without a shock prod. Use the stun shot from the blaster, then get up close like you normally would and it will allow you to perform a takedown 👍🏾
A sequel would be a perfect opportunity to bring back Dash Rendar as a character to interact with. A Shadows of The Empire reimagine would be cool too.
Guy says he wasn't paid by ubisoft, but was flown by said company to LA special event, disney land etc That is nothing but paid for Game is total garbage. It's a buggy mess, boring character, forced stealth missions that are pretty bad. This guy wants you to waste your money on this because ubisoft took him on a paid holiday.
Calling a game like this “total garbage” is a sure fire way to get people to ignore your opinion, specially when we have got actually trash tier games in recent years. Just last year we had stuff like Gollum, The Day Before, Redfall and the King Kong one, which are actual trash tier games. I don’t know how good or bad this one is (haven’t played it yet), but it definitely seems leaps and bounds better than any of the aforementioned actually bad games. Plus, supposedly the devs do are fixing the game at a rather fast pace, recently saying that they fixed some of the stealth problems, which is more than I can say for games like Starfield’s that has got bugs from launch still not fixed (not surprising seeing how Skyrim despite multiple rereleases continued to have bugs that were never fixed). Even Cyberpunk took months to fix some major issues and that eventually came to be considered good. As for the travel, I would say that if Ubisoft flew people to check the game and GET FEEDBACK, that already is a major step in the right direction, specially seeing how we recently learned that Concord suffered from so called “Toxic Positivity”, where no criticism or comparison with other games was allowed during development… and we know how that ended up.
@ZeonicFenrir Yep. But game is total garbage still. We need to come to a point where we don't settle for less anymore. I've watched enough walkthroughs to see this game is insulting to gamers. Last thing we want to do is encourage this type of practice. And also, we need to stop with youtubers like this giving games positive reviews because they were spoilt by corporations
@@FearNot777 I don’t follow: if it’s nowhere as bad as the aforementioned games, how can it be “total garbage”? How is it insulting to gamers, specially more than games like Gollum, or worst of them all, the The Day Before, which was an actual & overhyped scam.
@ZeonicFenrir the majority has spoken, because the game has failed to meet sales expectation. Crappy ugly female protaginst; forced stealth sections (which suck) Given one crappy pistol; much easier disposing of enemies with bare hands; AI is terrible; space flight sections are horrible; you basically just lock on and spam shooting, that's it. (You can avoid all space battles by flying past everything!) And last but not least, game is a buggy mess.
As for bugs: I play on XBox. I had 2 CTDs and I have been playing 3 - 4 hours since early access. And I had one time where a contact broker didn't "fall down" from his spawn point but remained stuck somewhere up. Exiting and re-entering the cantina solved the problem. And I had one enemy that spawned or fell underground and was stuck there. And that's - thankfully - the entirety of bugs I encounter so far. Now, let's talk about Starfield ...
Hey, Good feedback. As for your graphics point. The game looks way greater for you than it does for us on pc. The game looks very blurry (depth of field issues) and the vram required to run the higher settings is INSANE. On my RTX 4090 I barely can run it on medium setting due to the high vram usage.
8/10 I've loved playing it since I've never experienced starwars like this however the story seems quite short so I'd say. It could have been a bit cheaper 😅
I don't have the game myself yet, but from what I've seen from Tombie I give the game a 7 out of 10. I just love that there is finally a game where you aren't a Jedi or Sith or imperial or rebel or bounty hunter or something like that, you are a normal dude looking for her way in the galaxy
Because, and let's be honest, nobody really WANTS a Han Solo game like they think they do. Because he's SO beloved that EVERYTHING they do with the game will be scrutinized to kingdom come. Like what era of Han Solo would we even focus on. Because it feels like we're asking for Han shot First Han but his arc from shoot-first smuggler to self-sacrificing hero IS what makes him so beloved. This means we LITERALLY cannot give him a character arc in the story of the game. We'll hate any character he has a partner that isn't Chewie even if Chewie doesn't make sense to the story. Etc. Etc. It would be an s-show of a game even if the gameplay is good.
@@Devilsblood I am real. Imagine how LITTLE Ubisoft and Disney would give us if a FLAGSHIP CHARACTER’S game did poorly. I’d prefer a Han Soloish game with little stakes that’s decent than a Han Solo game that’ll cost everything that completely flops. Wouldn’t you? I’m thinking less about the game I’m playing and more about the Star Wars game landscape afterwards. That’s what YALL are missing. Imagine they put a SINGLE woke character in the game. It’s CLIPPED. We’ll ONLY get Jedi games until the end of time. The game we got wasn’t bad. It was okay. And it was okay because nobody knows who this character is. Which means there’s room for improvement and better quality. Anything with a known character will have everything else scrapped for the next decade and a half. Is THAT what you want?
@cabl3cas427 gee, I seem to remember games like Robocop rogue city, Alien isolation, and Terminator resistance being big IPs made by lesser known companies and getting praise to the heavens. So don't give me that crap.
@Devilsblood I'm so confused on whether you're understanding my point. It's not that we can't have a good game. My point is that if they're going to give us mid content I'd prefer them give mid content that won't HURT the franchise. Your point in bringing up those games were big IP games were that they got praise, but where are they now? I personally have never even heard of Robocop: Rogue City. I'm sure it has a small cult following, but they never got good games afterwards. Which means it didn't do very well in the grand scheme of things. I would hate to see that happen to one of the best characters in the franchise. And again I reiterate the problem with the Han Solo game that you missed. He won't have a decent character arc if you want the devilish rogue character. He has to be that the whole game without learning or being better because it wouldn't make sense in the Canon narrative. Which is fine for lore, but not jot much for game storytelling. And you know as well as I that Star Wars fans are some of the most rabbid fan bases there is. And they will TEAR THAT SH*T APART. And then poof. That type of game is gone. And I know you understand corporate greed enough to know that the criticism they get won't lead to a better game, they'll just stop trying. You can not like Outlaws. But you can't say the logistics of what a Han Solo game would cost the COMMUNITY would be worth it. Outlaws if done better scratches the itch without possibly irreparably damaging everything. Now once they get Outlaws PERFECT 10/10 game. At LEAST 8.5/10. THEN and ONLY THEN will a Han Solo game be a good idea. I mean if you dislike Outlaws with such passion, do you really trust them to handle Han well?
The biggest problem of this game is that it didn't do anything interesting or new with the franchise. Star Wars had a lot mediocre games since Prequel Trilogy, especially when it was EA exclusive for the past 10 years. When EA exclusivity deal has ended we were hoping that now Star Wars will get much more love from developers and we will get much better and original games. What we got since: SW Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor (EA woned games oh irony), which were decent, but also very conservative with story, because of the time period that they took place. We have SW Outlaws now, with same time setting problem, generic gameplay and story. Is this best we can expect now for SW license? God I miss the times when Kotors were released.
100% -- in fact, there's a moment where he references stepping foot on Tatooine for the first time and being "awed" by the reaction to stepping foot on a planet that was in the films... but you could do that in several older SW games. Hell, one of my favorite gaming memories is stepping out into the middle of that massive Dune Sea in KOTOR1 and seeing the smoldering Sandcrawler in the distance, which was incredible at the time. A "7/10" reviewed SW game will not be good enough for Ubisoft. Not with the lingering development hell this game was stuck in for many years. All that development time and effort resulted in a game that appears to be largely seen as "average" at best. It gets the atmosphere of the films pretty spot-on and has a few cool setpieces, but the story is largely forgettable and it's got some jank behind-the-scenes that keeps it from achieving greatness. Even if the franchise wasn't in the penalty box right now with all the underwhelming and frankly terrible TV spinoffs, I can't see this game having staying power vs. other AAA releases. It screams "buy in a year when its 60% off".
I can't believe this was the best they can do with a game about bounty hunters and mercenaries. Absolutely pathetic and such a wasted opportunity. A tech demo at best and it's buggy as hell 😂
I can see what people are complaining about with the facial animation' some of the graphic and mission bugs' and I keep having to switch from default when on foot to southpaw when on ship with no way to customise on ps5. But I'm henning fun with it. I like the characters' the story was a fun little heist movie but I overall just like living in the world doing jobs the way I see fit (I'll only do jobs against other syndicates for infiltration and spying' no outright attacks) so I'm free to play how I like. For me, it's a great style of genre I can jump into, do a few jobs, fly/speed around, and stop. Full disclosure I found a place doing the game for 20 euros under standard. As for guns, I've grown to main the Ion explosive shot to paralyse enemies and then melee them when possible
I’m sorry, but bad takedown animations are a dealbreaker for me. That’s one of my favorite things about the jedi series, and it’s something that makes me feel like a true badass. If they’re bad then it kinda makes me feel like one of those car dealership noodle inflatables
It seems to be the thing nowadays to just complain and hate on everything. I play games for fun, not to hate on them. I’ve seen some reviewers almost apologetic for liking this game lol. Why the hell would you apologise for liking something? I wasn’t going to bother with this game, but when so many were hating on it, I thought I’d try for myself, and I’m glad I did. I’m only 15 hrs in and I think the game is excellent and not as bad as these “reviewers” are claiming. If you like the original trilogy, then try this game. Don’t listen to the hate, decide for yourself.
I haven't played much of the game but so far I'm enjoying it. I don't find the story very *memorable* but it certainly keeps wanting to know what happnes next and engages me in the actual moment. I'm not sure why people are complaining about glitches because personally the only glitch I've had after a few hours is a single dead stormtrooper getting stuck halfway through a wall when he fell over. The combat isn't exactly incredible but I'm still early on and I'm already enjoying it so I expect it'll get even better. I'm so far loving being able to strategise and find different ways to reach a goal. A few times it's felt akin to Batman Arkham (a game series I simply adore). I do think it's very slow at the start as was said in the video and it can feel a bit of a drag sometimes. I sometimes find myself not really sure what to do which can be a bit annoying. I don't hugely like the speeder and I find it difficult to control but I think that's just I need to get used to it. Overall I'm enjoying the game so far. Maybe not worth the price tag though. 7/10, would recommend if you can get it cheaper or don't care much about price.
As soon as you said you found it “fun” even with all its flaws I immediately found the rest of your reasoning invalid. With that kind of mentality we are never going to get amazing polished games like we did in the past.
7/10. For the £110 I spent on it, the main story was criminally short. I'd finished it in about 20 hours but that included a lot of wandering around and doing side quests to upgrade my gear. Didn't feel like there was enough for me to connect with Kay, although I really loved ND-5's storyline. That being said, it's a great Star Wars offering. Whilst it's not perfect, it's a good shot at how Star Wars can tackle the open world, stunning visuals, and a genuinely immersive experience where I felt like I was really in Star Wars, although a few creases need to be ironed out.
Shouldn't complain about short story when I didn't even complete all the side content and got 60 hour out of it . If your gonna rush to the finish you are gonna find it disappointing. Also you chose the spend 110 you could of got it for 70 🤷♂️
35 hrs in and I like it and don't like it. Bad: 1- it's a typical Ubisoft game, weak AI, Assassin's Creed in space, mediocre story. 2- poor quality control, I fell through the floor and got stuck at least half dozen times, crashed to desktop more, and froze when interacting with terminals several as well. 3- when you get 'caught' in a restricted area or wanted you just give up, no fighting, no running. 4- 80% of the other characters are female (I mean almost all the stormtroopers are women...really?) How are the planets so populated across a whole galaxy if there are almost no men? Really tired of the woke garbage. 5- the graphics suck. Why does this 2024 game look like a 2010 game? 6- stealth and (really bad) melee does not feel like Star Wars. 7- the fall/crash animation and instant recovery is horrible Good- 1- the planets are incredibly well designed. 2- the space stuff is really good, the combat is fun. 3- the gunplay combat isn't that bad. 4- it's kind of Star Wars-ish. Side note... A lot of the areas in this game just made me think "this looks and feels like a slightly higher graphic quality Jedi Outcast" so nostalgia... But really just made me wish I could play that again. Final score: 3.5 out of 10
Totally agree. I think that a sequel could really be great. I am currently having fun with the game but see many things that could be improved on. It could have been so much better but it is not a BAD game.
I basically agree with 99% of what you said. Good fun, but for me there was far too many bugs. But while I was playing the game, I couldn't help but think that if they based it before a new hope and made it a Han Solo game that existed in its own Canon, then the hate for this game would basically disappear
Didn't you get flown out to LA to meet the cast. Im sorry but that is a form of payment and direct contact between you and Ubisoft in relation to this tital.. your aloud to like something your aloud to have an opinion, but dont lie/misslead/ gaslight the people who are the reason your in a position to do this to begin with 'your channel members' and the more you double down just makes it look worse.
I love the game, it has some pretty crazy flaws, but it’s so much fun. Watching the twin suns set on Tatooine was something I’ve wanted to experience in a game since I could imagine it being possible. Easy 8/10 for me.
You're not being paid, but you get free trips there to play in return for a 'fair' assessment. You can thank Erik Voss for letting the cat out of the bag
You say good things about the game just so you can get a sponsorship. How is the game good if the story isn't memorable? Chill bro, I know someone in marketing.
I’m glad you’re having fun with it. Personally I’d give it a four out of ten. It doesn’t feel like it gives you a challenge and some things were just stupid like the pet companion and the fact she’s knocking people out with one punch, even crazier that she’s doing it to a stormtrooper. As someone who studies martial arts I’ve met people who have knocked guys out with one punch but they have much more muscle and they’ve even told me to do it you could easily break your hand and that it’s really really hard, not something you can just pull off easily. Gameplay is very mid. Exploration is fun and how you build a reputation with the factions is cool but the gunplay and stealth are just terrible and that’s what the game is built around. I do like the commando droid partner you have though he’s pretty cool. But yeah I don’t even know most of the characters names because the game never really made me care. The protagonist is really just a female Han Solo but doesn’t really land the humor like he does. I would have much preferred a game about Han before episode 4 or one about Boba in between 5 and 6, or maybe something about the start of his career in the early days of the Empire
We need an M rated Star Wars game and the whole outlaw universe was where that would thrive. No1 wants to be a soft criminal, makes no sense
100 the gameplay is so boring
RDR2 IN SPACE😊
I think the game would have hugely benefitted from creating your own character like Cyberpunk. From what I have seen the big appeal of this game is just existing in the universe of Star Wars, so being able to be who you want to be in that universe would have gone a long way.
That's not the point of the game though. It isn't a build your own toon type game. While I get what you mean, the point of this game is to tell a specific story from a standpoint the writers wanted. Now could they have done a little more on cosmetics and hair? Oh god yes they could have. (Among other things they could have done)
That literally would make 0 sense its a cannon story with specific characters. No one says this when theres a male lead character.
Yeah, I guess but basically what they created was almost like assassin‘s creed black flag where it takes three hours to unlock the open world and it’s a lot of fun to be in the open world, but there’s still a story
it might be a fun game, but im not spending that much money on it

It’s good but definitely overpriced
I agree completely
You can buy the Ubisoft sub for like 17.99 beat the game in a weekend and cancel the sub that’s if you arnt trying to 100% the game
Agreed. It looks like a game I’d MAX have 25-30 hours on.. not worth spending 100 cad.

Feels like this game should’ve came out 10 years ago when Disney first acquired Star Wars

Man this dude is so dense, getting gifts and trips is a form of payment stupid... Just be honest about you caring more about profit than truth.
The death troopers not hunting you down feels like a bug. If it isn’t it’s such a strange decision

He did. He got invited to early access and galaxies edge. He's a disney shill.

You're doing the exact same.

It's a single player game. This was never meant to me a online game. Also, Han Solo isn't the only outlaw in the Star Wars Universe.
9/10 Loving the game and im 20 hrs in. Only thing that stops it from being a 10 is some facial animations
What was the price for you to see your morals and soul? Just a free holiday? Or money? Its ironic because in star wars, you would be a sith.
8/10 game is really a lot of fun, sure it's got some flaws like I don't think you could just punch a stormtrooper in the helmet to knock them out, but for the most part stealth, combat, lockpicking, and even nix play very well
You have garbage taste in video games
I've been playing it on ps5 and been loving it only bug I came across was that I fell through the map but I thought it was great all the same already on my 2nd play thro

Don't know if it's been mentioned already but you can actually take down the brutes without a shock prod. Use the stun shot from the blaster, then get up close like you normally would and it will allow you to perform a takedown 👍🏾
I would give it an 8/10 as it's a unique game and fun!
A sequel would be a perfect opportunity to bring back Dash Rendar as a character to interact with. A Shadows of The Empire reimagine would be cool too.
Guy says he wasn't paid by ubisoft, but was flown by said company to LA special event, disney land etc
That is nothing but paid for
Game is total garbage.
@ZeonicFenrir
Yep.
Crappy ugly female protaginst; forced stealth sections (which suck)
Given one crappy pistol; much easier disposing of enemies with bare hands; AI is terrible; space flight sections are horrible; you basically just lock on and spam shooting, that's it. (You can avoid all space battles by flying past everything!) And last but not least, game is a buggy mess.
@@ZeonicFenrir that's alot of cope.
I run it on ultra and it looks great it was blurry at first but I took off the grain effect n it sharpened the look of the game
I love star wars Outlaws. I play the main storey out. I had a couple of crashes but stil i love it very much. 10 for me
8/10 I've loved playing it since I've never experienced starwars like this however the story seems quite short so I'd say. It could have been a bit cheaper 😅
I'm sure it is of that's all.u play an open world game for I have almost 60 hours i. This.game and 61 percent done
10/10 its just pure fun
I don't have the game myself yet, but from what I've seen from Tombie I give the game a 7 out of 10. I just love that there is finally a game where you aren't a Jedi or Sith or imperial or rebel or bounty hunter or something like that, you are a normal dude looking for her way in the galaxy
"I wish I was paid..."
Well, somebody have. 😂
well all those making hate videos on outlaw are also making bank from utube
Keep up the great content bro✊🏽
They describe it as han soloish. Why not make a Han Solo game instead of making one that revolves around his bratty sister?
@cabl3cas427 as opposed the recent game we got? Get real
Nice review, appreciate the honesty, 1st of yours I've seen, like n sub, cheers
Dude your channel is amazing love your videos
I can't believe this was the best they can do with a game about bounty hunters and mercenaries. Absolutely pathetic and such a wasted opportunity. A tech demo at best and it's buggy as hell 😂
I’m glad you’re enjoying it, personally I’m not buying this anytime soon unless it’s discounted soon. I do appreciate the review though!
this game is underrated, honestly 8/10, I don't care if anyone hates my opinion
Its a good game people hate the stealth missions because you start from the beginning if you fail but its ok if its a fromsoftware game lmao
It's Got D.E.I All Over It!....😂👍🏻
It seems to be the thing nowadays to just complain and hate on everything.
On an akiva imperial base whilst I was being hunted a shuttle landed carrying death troopers, but this has only happened to me once.
Bro didn’t mention the mini games at all! Like Nix eating is my favorite part
Also you chose the spend 110 you could of got it for 70 🤷♂️
Honestly from what I've seen and heard about it. Everything surrounding it as well it's a around solid 6.5 out of 10.
How long did it take you to finish it?
7- the fall/crash animation and instant recovery is horrible
Good- 1- the planets are incredibly well designed.
It could have been so much better but it is not a BAD game.
just admit you were bribed by ubisoft it doesn"t always be money when it comes to these bribes free trips and goodie bags also count as bribes
Very valid review! Loved watching you play through man!
You say good things about the game just so you can get a sponsorship. How is the game good if the story isn't memorable? Chill bro, I know someone in marketing.
People tend to underrate ambitious games like this or Skywalker Saga
I would have much preferred a game about Han before episode 4 or one about Boba in between 5 and 6, or maybe something about the start of his career in the early days of the Empire
nix is the best shut up
What's funny Is do u have a problem with black widow or Laura croft or any of these other females doing it beating up guys
