People really need to stop defending Square Enix and FFXIV, we all love the game but it's still just that, a game, a product that you're ALREADY paying for, you buy it, you buy the expansions, you pay for a monthly subscription, and many people pay for story skips and level boost, they don't need sell mounts that would make sense to be unlocked in a raid
No you're right. It's something I noticed as well. Why are all the good items going to the mog station rather than going into the game? It just doesn't give a good incentive to do content. Even the gear could be in the game but no spend $18 for this new cosmetic item we could've put in as an achievement reward. You're not alone in thinking this way.
I cant imagine how ready Liam (the guy who runs the BLU Mage Academy) was to commission a set of emotes of Shadow Keeper with a BLU mask on. We were going to get a new mascot for BLU, and that all went out the window :[ Very sad
I only care about mounts that people need to grind to even get them, since if i know that some mount can be just bought from the store then it loses all of its value in my eyes
100% agree, I really wish the game had more. One thing I envy about WoW is a big collection of mounts that you can "hunt" that are actually rare/a flex. I'd even take more recolours of existing mounts as rewards for certain achievements.
The Mog Station is why I tell new players, when a yearly even comes up, stop what you are doing, go do the event, and buy multiples of the item you can buy with in game currency. Because the moment you don't, yer going to wish you did as the following year the items will be on the Mogstation for your in person currency instead.
For us, it's not so much that they put it on the Mogstation. It's that it's 20 USD for a mount for a *single character*. It should *at least* be account wide.
Bruh if this is really such a issue that you can't afford to just buy a boss as a mount then you just shouldn't be playing games and just get you life on track. Like sees, stop begging and realize games don't do stuff for free
This isn't a free to play game that has to make money somehow. They are using a paid model which includes a subscription. Just because you can afford something doesn't mean you can't vote with your wallet or be critical about it.
@inski Okay, you pay for skin in over watch, right? When you want extra stuff on the food you order, you pay, right? Literally, you act like subscriptions alone are enough to pay server fees workers, ads and marketing, etc. Like Literally you paying for something extra that wasn't normally intended. No one's begging you to buy it, it dosnt effect gameplay. Literally as I said if you can't afford a mount then you literally need to focus on other things.
@@mugen1813 I usually do not pay for cosmetics in a game I already purchased. I paid for overwatch 1 and my skins came from lootboxes earned from playing the game. However I was still critical of them selling lootboxes for a paid game. We pay for the base game, expansions, and a subscription fee. Anything on top I consider greedy and anti consumer. My opinion is different than yours, continue spending your money how you want.
@inski Okay and IS THAT ENOUGH TO COVER COST YEAR ROUND. Like I said, you pay for base game and that's all. The skin and mount aren't in base so cope. Their extra dlc that was refitted for players who want that. You don't complain about not being able to play as bosses in ever game do you? There in the game, why can't I play as them?
Agreed literally a non issue.... take all the mounts and glass available in game and compare it to what's available I'm the store the game needs continued funding so we can keep getting content sub or not... the extra money from mog station is what allows them let f2p users play three expansions without subbing

Some stuff to flesh out the mogstation is totally fine but I do think mounts like Shadowkeeper really are unexcusable on there
