    My wife and I were going to spend $15,000 on a water feature for the back yard. This water feature comes with a stream, boulders, 2 tons of multi colored rock and a fish cave.
    We decided we can save the money and try it ourselves. Thanks for the channel!

    A nice improvement over the first water feature you did for your in-laws. What I like most is that you did this for someone else.

    A plastic milk carton container of the sort you see at a grocery store would make a good substitute for a void box. Those are very rugged and a convenient cube shape.

    I've made my first try in form of water pillars, using 10" diameter PVC piping to fill in with cement, Is it necessary to apply any kind of resin or cement sealant when making a sump for the water feature?
    Edit: I don't like the classic pond liners, not sure why, but I resist to put plastics into the earth (even if they're "green")

    • @travisjantzer
      @travisjantzer  4 роки тому +2

      so technically no, a tube can pump water from the bottom up, with no void. It depends on the size of the fountain.
      The problem with no void is when water inevitably splashes out and evaporates you run out of water really fast.
      My recommendation would be to just get another bucket or tubberware container to hold a void in your river rock. Just as long as the fountain itself is not too much weight.
      Or watch the very end of my "answering your water feature questions" video where I give a better diagram of how to install one.
      Hopefully im making sense.

      This video was actually intended to be a vlog for my friends and family. I had only 100 subs at the time and my videos were getting 50 views.
      I believe I’ve explained the install much better with this video here: ua-cam.com/video/DKkZECwngCo/v-deo.html
      It is a similar design in concept. Hopefully it helps. Ask me any questions if it does not!

    Doing it for the mother in law? Really? Lemme guess, you came up with the idea and paid for everything and did all the work and it turnned out absolutely amazing but the entire time SHE told you what to do how to do it and how dissatisfied she was with it when you were done.
