    Amazing video. You have a brilliant way of explaining things, I usually give up watching some videos as they don't explain in depth like you do. You make it clear to understand. Thank you so much.

    This is a very helpful video. I would love to understand if your basic setup works with solar fountains, and if you have recommendations on how to size them. For areas with no electricity. Thanks.

    Best pondless waterfall breakdown!! Have searched pondless waterfalls endlessly and after days none have come close, my search has ended for design. Could you do one that includes lighting using your mechanics for a large, 12' water curtain but want to light it up.

    You can also use square black milk crates or the plastic soda crates

      @@travisjantzer Awesome. I’ve never done it. But now I know it will work. I will attempt a water fall/stream look with a tiny pool of water at the bottom.
      I’ll send pics when it’s done.

    Isn't it necessary to flush out and clean the system regularly? How would you do that? Thanks!

    Hey I am so sorry. I'm not seeing this comment in other videos - but maybe I am overlooking it - how the heck do you do the electrical for a pond? You just string any old extension cord across the yard? Bury it? Other?

      @@travisjantzer I am using a 75 gallon storage tub as a reservoir for my next water feature. Thanks for the idea of using the water box as pump vault. I've been looking for something affordable.

    Good idea for a video.
    What do you recommend for filtering? If you do filters, can you make a vid talking about filtering options? I think I am leaning towards a bog style I guess, with meta for filtering

    • @travisjantzer
      @travisjantzer  2 роки тому +2

      I'm not experienced with filters. Its something I need to learn more about.

    Firstly, dude you are awesome! Really appreciate you explaining this stuff. Secondly, I was thinking of using small milk crates ziptied together as the below rocks boxes to hold water volume. Do you think that would work?

    • @travisjantzer
      @travisjantzer  Рік тому +1

      I've done that! they don't hold as much weight so i wouldn't put large boulders on them but for a small reservoir with pebbles they seem to work.

  • @lynn8307
    @lynn8307 Рік тому

    for the void can you use a plastic milk crate?

    Any advice for somebody doing one of these in a place where the ground freezes in the winter? Obviously I need to remove my pump, but aside from that. Will those aquablox break if they're submerged in water that then freezes? Even if I drain the whole thing, in the spring when the snow melts the hole will probably be filled with snow runoff, which can then freeze again. Thanks!

    • @travisjantzer
      @travisjantzer  2 роки тому

      I dont think the aquablocks break when frozen. I personally have not had to deal with deep freezes so i'm not sure i can help much.

  • @lsignet
    @lsignet 2 роки тому

    what about using the plastic milk creates for the void area? would that be a good option for this?

    • @travisjantzer
      @travisjantzer  2 роки тому

      Ive done that! it worked, though I wouldn't put too much weight on them.

  • @chrisandashley6708
    @chrisandashley6708 2 роки тому +1

    Would milk crates work as a cheaper alternative to AquaBlocks?

    • @travisjantzer
      @travisjantzer  2 роки тому +2

      I’ve actually used those once and the seemed to work! I wouldn’t trust them with more than my own body weight though. So if you’re using large stone I would off set them to the side so the weight is directly on the ground instead of on the crates. They would certainly hold the weight of some River rock though!

    I would like to know how to install a bib liner at the bottom of a pondless waterfall so you have a shallow pool area at the bottom, instead of the water disappearing into the basin

    • @travisjantzer
      @travisjantzer  Рік тому

      kinda the same just line the edges with rock and them put plants in to keep algae and evaporation down. requires a lot more maintenance though.

    Add a #5 because you also need electricity unless youre using solar. Lol
