Hey all! I recently bought an Acre of land to build a homestead for my family. Its a huge project and I'm documenting all my work there. Go check it out in this video playlist :) Thanks for Watching! ua-cam.com/play/PLs3aM0rQNXUh0Jih7S2UCuaohvtxppEQQ.html
Yesssss...thank you. This is refreshing. I get all the information that I need and want without the annoying repetitive music and narration filled with the incessant "uhmm"s or the attempts to sound "cool" (or whatever the current equivalent term is). In addition, you speed up the repetitive activity such as shoveling. This is very considerate; we all know how to shovel. Keep up the good work. We appreciate it.
Yea I really enjoy the videos that just show the work without the nonsense. Even when I narrate and explain in my videos I try to keep it relevant. I plan on making more Not Talking or Music videos this summer. Waiting on the Ice to leave. Glad you enjoyed this video! I particularly enjoyed making this one.
Since a lot of people have mentioned it, I'm not done making videos with voice over and commentary. I just wanted to try something different and maybe reach a wider audience. This video had very little to talk about that has not already been said in my previous videos. I do have a few projects coming up that will be made in my typical fashion, so stay tuned! That being said, I appreciate all the feedback! The community I have here is what keeps me going and I'm flattered you all miss hearing my voice. haha 😄
I think this is my favourite water feature design, chunky blocks of flat stone that creates a nice set of surfaces for the water to run over with the additional bonus of chuckling water sounds.
This is the way to do a YT Video! Music is so annoying. When I want music, I like to see the musicians. It doesn't go with 'how-to' videos. And sometimes words are superfluous. Great job with yours! Thank you. I hope others can follow suit!
Nice water feature. I think I'd put the pump in back, under a slab that was more easily removed. That impeller is going to foul and need cleaning and those little pumps don't last forever. (keeper of ponds X 30 years now)
I like it, and also appreciated the no music to it. The only thing that I would do differently is an easy access to the pump, since you never know how long it will last. Another feature that I add to my fountains is a Floater connected to the water valve so that I don't have to worry about refilling the reservoir since water tends to evaporate. Other than that, BEAUTIFUL.
Cant tell you how much i appreciate the no talking. I have several learning disabilities and its so much easier to understand how to do something without all the yammering on and on about nothing. I love this so much, thank you. Those large stones are wonderful and with moss!💚💙
@@travisjantzer Thats awesome - its important to enjoy our work. Great camera angles too! Question: the clothe you use, is that just the regular kind you use for landscaping and gardening?
I am making a solar pond with fountain next spring. I absolutely love yours! I’ve watched several diy’s and will follow yours. You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your hard work. It’s breathtaking ❣️
Very nice build video! In my experience i would use a thicker liner like 45 mil rubber liner. The pvc liners always get brittle and crack very quickly if you live where it gets cold in the winter. Looks great and i plan to try this style of fountain for my yard.
I've had the idea of using milk crates before but I was curious how well they would actually work, well this build proves to me it makes sense to use them. I've been watching your builds for a quite awhile now and they just keep getting better, thanks for showing them.
Pretty cool looks simular to one of mine. Love the natural sounds of water. 6 months after I found some complimentary flat stone bulit a setting bench chair to enjoy moments.
Thanks for the tip, I never thought about the type of shoe and job efficiency. I love hiking boots and men's construction boots over running shoes any day. Except for long walks in the summer, then running shoes. BTW,. Men's boots last SO much longer than women's. Women's shoes are a rip off quality wise.
I appreciate this vid, working on a pond of my own, refreshing to find a vid that is simply someone doing what needs to be done as a good template for ideas .....
Bet your back hurt after that project. No wonder you are so nice and slim. Well done. Do you ever see birds at your water fall fountain? Thanks for sharing.
The milk crates will fail. Should you attempt, I’d recommend aquablocks they will hold more weight and will not break. I am a woman, and made a 25’ pondless waterfall at my property. I spent in total, 2500 and ended up with a 35k project. It’s import to buy good underlayment and a high quality pond liner. Don’t use milk crates they will fail. Good luck😊
Travis this isn’t a fountain, it’s a waterfall. For a non expert I’m amazed! You should be in water garden business charging thousands for this type installation. I’m a designer! It’s gorgeous.
I've been comparing ideas for a small water feature in our garden. Nice looking project. Simple, neat, natural looking. I agree with one comment--I would pay another $35 for a 45 mil EDPM heavy duty pond liner. This needs to last for many years, and changing it out would be a disaster. Even the reviewers on Amazon complain that this thin, PVC liner was punctured under careful handling. Buy once: cry once.
*"Ultimate Frisbee"* YO, me too! _Ultimate_ 'PFC' Philadelphia Frisbee Club [decades ago] lol Pond turned out Quite Nice. Sound of Water Rules! Moss on Stone edge adds 'Character'.
If owning a property where I could do this was affordable I would try my hand at this, you’re an inspiration man. It’s more work but you should keep doing voiceovers cause I like to hear your perspective. Great job
My landlord is cool if I make changes that improve the value/aesthetic of the property and he won't have to send somebody to fix it, lol, you should mention it to them assuming you're fully capable of doing a professional job. Life is a renovation, never stop improving yourself and everything around you, society will reflect.
Hi! all that bit you did was extraordinary. Thanks for showing how to do a natural looking earthy fountain. Kindly please share why are 2nos. of Netted Baskets you placed beneath the Heavy Rocks.
That's some great creativity! Glad to see you make it work out! Where would you say is the best way to find some of these pretty rocks? I'll likely be using slabs and/or small rocks around our house to prevent the dirt from splashing up (when it rains/wind) that ruins the red wall paint. It would be cool having a small water feature or perhaps an elevated bird bath. We have a quite tiny front yard. Greetings from Sweden.
New sub here, got ya from Reddit, this stuff is right up my alley, too late to do it this year, but I'm gonna prep some areas for next summer now. Thanks for the awesome idea as watering my outdoor flowers and veg is always a pita, but having a beautiful aerated fountain would make an excellent water source lol.
Looks lovely👍🏼 I’ve been watching you in videos as I am gonna make a water feature hope it turns out as good…. Maybe a little talking wouldn’t go a miss 😊 keep on making videos…. Your water features are beautiful

So understated and natural looking, lovely stone. And no irritating music. Excellent.
So there’s no filtering system?
You were laying down multiple layers of an underlayment other than the rubber/ plastic liner. What was it for? Just to catch the pea gravel?

This is one of the coolest ones Ive seen. It looks like an actual spring. Id love to see it in a year or two.
Thanks!

So you never turn on the radio? That's too bad.
Reminded me of a Benny hill sketch

I wish I was sitting next to that fountain drinking some tea and reading a book. Congratulations so beautiful.

Awesome but how did u drill holes in rocks?
Outstanding weekend warrior! I love power efficiency in execution!!!
Beautiful design. Love it.

Excellent video. No music is great. I love the sound made by the fountain!
I just made another video of a mini pond I made for my Ducks :)
Clever use of milk crates. Been thinking about the best way to support mine without buying an expensive basin. Also the plants are a great touch.

This is the best I've seen
Another great-sounding waterfall!
Many thanks! I just made another one this week I’m really proud of.
Beautiful fountain, but I do enjoy listening to your perspective and learning why you do things a specific way.
I appreciate that!
@@travisjantzer You could probably put captions on the video for explanations if you like
Great work. I wish there was a way for more people to move those huge stones.

loved the way you planned the water to fall. well done. looks wonderful
Very nice, and I really like the flowering tree behind it.🥳🙏
Beautifully done! The gym shoes cost you a LOT of energy with their flexing. You need a stiff sole when digging, much more efficient energy transfer.
