I think the reason for the hatred is design exhaustion at that point. Gen 1 and 2: All animaloid. Gen 3: Blaziken Gen 4: Infernape Gen 5: Emboar Gen 6: All the starters. Gen 7: Inceinoar
@@AkaiAzuli dont dislike blaziken or infernape because they are based on animals that realistically have some humanoid features. A chicken being on all fours would be weird. And monkeys often stand and walk bipedaly as well. Emboar and Incenaroar have no reason to be on 2 legs. It's a boar and a cat. They are quadropedal.
Blaziken was the one that really started it. And it still looks feral and intimidating enough for me. Incineroar is Tony the fucking Tiger if he found a second job.
I believe the reason for Ghetsis’s disability is that he was attacked by his Hydreigon. It’s canon that he is incredibly abusive to it, and a couple dragon type moves like dragon breath cause paralysis.
Pretty sure that fact about Blaziken was specifically meant only for Blaziken. There was nothing that implied it was for all starter going forward, and doesn’t even make sense for some of the starters that came with and after gen 3.
I think the starters being designed to slightly disappoint makes sense as it then encourages the player to try new pokemon rather than relying on their starter
But that’s just your opinion not everybody thinks a certain starter is underwhelming, I think cinderace is awesome but a lot of people think it’s underwhelming and not that good so one opinion isn’t fact
@@Yoshigamingchannel I get where you are coming from. I was more referring to a games design standpoint rather than any specific problems I may or may not have with starters. Hell meowscadara is one of my favourite pokemon of all time.
I think it's the opposite, I think that the idea making us feel disappointment on purpose is to make us have a connection with the Pokemon themselves. Even though that the real world they are just fictional characters in games, they probably want us to make us feel disappointed so we will have a more emotional connection to them, just like in the anime. Ken Sugamori said all of that in relation to the painted chicks that get abounded, so maybe he and GF/Nintendo/TPC wanted us the players to feel the pain of the Pokemon, to realize that this new power that they got via evolution isn't something to be taken for granted.
I don’t think they wanted to disappoint people, but I think they wanted to push the boundaries and change some peoples views and personally I think blaziken and inceneroar are sick even delphox and intelleon are pretty cool but cinderace and quaquaval aren’t so good. I think a lot of people really love blaziken and infernape etc. like me so I think it worked. I really love greninja and he is one of the most popular starters ever created, probably second to charizard. meowscarada is sick and even emboar is pretty cool. lucario became one of the most popular designs ever. ceruledge and armourage are 2 of the most popular designs in gen 9. not everyone is going to agree obviously but it opened up a new niche for people who accept and really like certain human like Pokémon designs
Miraidon is technically chrome in its shiny, not white, as are all of the future Paradox Pokémon. Koraidon and Miraidon being black and white in their shiny colours are probably just a coincidence.
Coinsedens are rare in Pokémon. Ther original colours are the opposite of a colour spectrum (red is longest wawe, purple is shortest). And same with shiny. White is all colours, black is no colour, opposite.
Possibly one reason for the Pokemon being meant to disappoint us is sort of testing Pokemon fans' love of the creatures themselves; much as when chicks grow up and aren't as cute, we naturally encounter a test of our own love for the animal itself beyond its fleeting cuteness.
