I remember the Alolan Arcanine one, when I saw it I was really curious how it, same thing for Growlithe too. I'm super happy that we got Hisuian Growlithe/Arcanine though. Speaking of Hisui/Sinnoh, I remember beck in Gen 4 there were rumors about Absol being connected to Arceus in some way due to their very similar appearances, most likely Absol being a pre-evoled form of Arceus. I know it's not a rumor about a Pokemon being existing like the rumors in your video but I wanted to mention it anyway.
Looking back at Plusle and Minun and the rumour about them having "fused evolution" i think that if they were to be created now, in gen 9, they could actually be a pair of pokemon considered as one - in similar fashion Tandemous and Maushold are. And then they COULD actually evolve into a single being, fused you could say, without any issues regarding pokeball inheritance or gender, since they would count as single being for the pokemon slot even before evolving.
Gen one had the Myth Stone, Pikablu, whats behind Bills house, Metalicuno, Butterfat, and a ton of other rumors. I miss the pre internet days for that kind of thing.
As a kid during the Gen 2 era, I remember seeing a concept drawing of Leafeon. I don't remember if the kid drew it themselves or if it was a print from a magazine or fan art, though, and I don't think it had the name Leafeon. There was also hope of a Mewthree floating around my area, too. We were very rural and the internet was still not really utilized, so there wasn't a lot of information to go around.
I say the rumors of Armor Pokemon for Sword and Shield weren't too far off. Zacian and Zamazenta do kind of have armored forms when they go into their Crowned Sword and Crowned Shield forms respectively, becoming part Steel-type.
Remember a friend of mine who told me that if you loose to Glacia and talk to her you would get an egg with an Ice-Type Winter Absol. Not sure from where it came.

in regards to gen 4 starter type change rumor, they could have been referencing the added secondary types they gained in final evolution, as two of them were unique among starters water/steel and grass/ground
Back in gen 3 there was also the rocket rumor:when the space station launch 100 rockets you can go to space and catch deoxis and if you use rock smash on the white rock, you can catch jirachi.
The only Hoenn rumour I remember is one that said if you visit the Space Station in Mossdeep x amount of times, you'd be able to go to the Moon, where you'd find Clefairy and ultimately Deoxys.
Big Gen 7 rumor I heard and wanted to be true was split evolutions for the starters. No idea where I heard it, but at the time I prayed it to be a thing. Guess Legends finally made it legit 😅
15:48 I remember asking you if you thought it was real and you said you were gonna make a video on it, and every single day I checked if I came out and then after a month, it came out, and I was so excited
When I was a kid there was a rumor that you could go to space and battle jirachi if the count down got to a certain number at the mossdeep space center
You know, the pokegods could still become real Pokémon in the indigo disk part of the dlc, except they wouldn’t be pokegods but paradox Pokémon instead They would make for cool paradox Pokémon
When I was in early elementary school there a was a small rumor about Sapphire and Ruby: If you caught every non-legendary Pokémon in a different color (we didn’t know they were called shiny yet) before catching the box legendary it would also be shiny. To give you the approximate year this was around 1st or 2nd grade and I was born in late September in 1999. This was also before Gen 4 was released. It’s hard to remember the exact year because it was so long ago. We all had GameBoy Advanced SPs back then. Not DS lites. It was a Latch Key rumor among a decent sized group of kids. Latch Key was the after school daycare in the gym
Couldn't the 4th gen rumor have been a mistranslation error? It could have been meant to be "they gain another type" rather than they "have another type" and wasn't it the 1st region where all 3 starter got a 2nd type?
When I first started liking Pokemon, I always thought that Dragonite was a part of the Charmander line. I thought that with some special method, you could evolve a Charmeleon into a Dragonite. This was obviously coz they looked so similar to me. I honestly thought Charmeleon had a split evolution but now that I think about it, it doesn't make sense since it's a starter Pokemon
I remember the rumored Gen 8 starters from back before Sword and Shield were leaked as the titles. We need a Platypus starter. Temtem picked that one up lol
I remember reading online that if you talked to your red headed rival in the original Gold and Silver game 100 times (before he steals a Pokemon from Elm) that he will take you to a store that sells Master Balls just to get rid of you. Looking back at it now, it was definitely fake and I fell for it xD
I thought in gen 8 we where getting more Ash Greninja like forms for other Pokémon. I remembered someone saying like when Ashes Infernape would use blaze that was like an incomplete Ash Infernape form and that the starter’s abilities blaze and torrent and such was what was needed for the new forms along with some type of device that lets them transform. Greninja did have a torrent a water around it when it tries to transform.
Does anyone else remember seeing a post of Jynx getting a new evolution before Gen 6? It was "leaked" very similarly to the Drowzee pre-evolution as if it were a picture of a coro coro leak. I remember seeing it on serebii but after the games were released, they took the image down.
talk about Rumors involving the Pokémon that made it in the games. Rumors: Jigglypuff's connection with Kirby Marill would get a regional variant based on Pikablu the sound and light type introduced Mimikyu is really clefairy or Polygon (rumor) Suicue, Raikou and Entei were originally a Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon Cubone's mother is Kangaskan. Jigglypuff, Clefairy and Chansey are a trio. (Since Jigglypuff and Clefairy are counterpart and they and Chansey are all pink) Rumors about Pokémon fusions becoming really due to the anime showing it with Ghastly's Illusions. The non-Pokemon Mongoose in the Anime inspired Zangoose or showed that there are normal animals existing in the Pokemon world along side the pokemon themselves.
I find it ironic (or perhaps fitting) that six generations later, we actually did get evolutions for (amongst others) Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise. Perhaps the Pokegods eventually did inspire Mega Evolution!
Great video, Hoops. I got a idea for a great video series for you do, is this: What IF Pokémon Regions had more than 3 Starter Pokémon was a DIFFERENT Type in part 1, like this: In The Kanto Region: Charmander as a Poison Type, Squirtle as a Ice Type, Bulbasaur as A Steel Type, and Snellow as a Fire Type, In The Johto Region: Cyndaquil as a Ice Type, Chikorita as Steel Type, Totodile as a Rock Type, and Snowooly as a Poison Type, and In the Hoenn Region: Torchic as a Fighting Type, Treeko as a Steel Type, Mudkip as Ground Type, and Spetot as a Fire Type. What do you think about these, Hoops?
I wanna see a scan of that alleged Gold/Silver guidebook error. I have never heard that rumor before, and i was very active in Gen 2. I even had a "translation guide" book for the Japanese versions of Gold/Silver made before the games were officially released in english. On a side note, looking back on that book now is hilarious seeing just how much it got wrong.
Plusle & Minun should have cousins that are based on Multiplication & Division & their abilities functions the same as Plus & Minus called Multiplication which powers up with Division & Division which powers up with Multiplication
I remember during the Gen 7 promotion some anime fan in denial spread a rumor that the new thing will be synergie like Greninja ! They wanted Greninja so bad in thoses games.. XD
I think that maybe for gens 1-4 many of the rumors may just be what GameFreak /Pokemon Company wanted but due to limitations they chose not to. As for the rumors for gen 8, I mean Charizard did get a new form and "armoured" pokemon did exist i.e Zacian and Zamazenta. I just think for that rumor there was probably and error in translation.
I remember that to,it has been a long time since we've gotten a new eevee evolution so of course people (including me) want a new evolution for eevee, every new gen I get my hopes up
I would like to believe that with every new game that comes out, so does the rumors and that the developers are probably watching out for them too. Then picking out which one would sound fun to add to the game right away or later on as a DLC or maybe later on. Lol
I remember being told Meganium could learn fly I restarted the game originally picked totodile so I restarted the game and picked chikorita was hoping it was true cause that was so odd to me. Essentially I found out it wasn’t true. A generation later we get Tropius -a lot of these rumors was just us Americans tryna catch up

You know, the pokegods could still become real Pokémon in the indigo disk part of the dlc, except they wouldn’t be pokegods but paradox Pokémon instead
They would make for cool paradox Pokémon
The pre Drowzee would be great addition to the Pokedex.
funfact pami is the ONLY pika clone to have a evolution family like pikachu all other pika-clones dont evolve or done evolve from something
Tbh I do like Pokemon rumors, they give off some fun ideas
I remember the armor rumor seemed real because around that time, Pokemom Go came out with Armor Mewtwo
Megas seem like a nod to Pokegods.
Specially the inclusion of Mewtwo's mega evolution. Totally a Mewthree wink
Here's a fun rumor I was told about gen 3. If you beat the Pokemon League 17 times, your mom would open up a Grass Type Gym in the hometown
the idea of pulse and minum or even latias and latios combining to make a stronger mon would be tough
I remember seeing a fake leak of a sea snake Ekans and Arbok for Alola that I wanted to be real
During let’s go pikachu and eevee hype their was a popular rumor about a pink dolphin Pokémon
That final fire crocodile evolution was better than what we got...
It was definitely the first region where we had 3 starters, each with their own typing for their final evolution.
In gen 3 my family were convinced you could breed Latias and Latios to make a baby of them
My foavorites for sure were the tangerine and grape cherubi forms
Plusle and Minum combined to turn into Multiplicationum
Ah I remember those Gen 7 rumors. Wish we'd gotten that Arcanine
Duude, that thumbnail, I remember the Alolan Arcanine rumors from pre-USUM
So sad for the fuecoco evo...
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec. Mám moc rád tvoji tvorbu.
When I first seen them, I thought Latias and Latios were evolved forms of Togetic. It was because of the colors and patterns.
Rumors:
Jigglypuff's connection with Kirby
Marill would get a regional variant based on Pikablu
the sound and light type introduced
Mimikyu is really clefairy or Polygon (rumor)
Suicue, Raikou and Entei were originally a Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon
Cubone's mother is Kangaskan.
Jigglypuff, Clefairy and Chansey are a trio. (Since Jigglypuff and Clefairy are counterpart and they and Chansey are all pink)
Rumors about Pokémon fusions becoming really due to the anime showing it with Ghastly's Illusions.
Then being disappointed when you see the final evolutions of each starter last 2 gens.
The rumor about armored Pokémon did technically happen, though. Zacian and Zamazenta have armored forms so they are indeed armored Pokémon.
I want a leviathan themed Arcanine convergent evolution like the Alolan form people expected
The biggest rumor I was convinced was real was about using the rocket ship in Mossdeep City and fly into space to catch deoxious
When Gen 2 came out I thought Ampharos was the evolution of Dragonite making it Electric/Dragon
Great video, Hoops. I got a idea for a great video series for you do, is this: What IF Pokémon Regions had more than 3 Starter Pokémon was a DIFFERENT Type in part 1, like this: In The Kanto Region: Charmander as a Poison Type, Squirtle as a Ice Type, Bulbasaur as A Steel Type, and Snellow as a Fire Type,
In The Johto Region: Cyndaquil as a Ice Type, Chikorita as Steel Type, Totodile as a Rock Type, and Snowooly as a Poison Type, and In the Hoenn Region: Torchic as a Fighting Type, Treeko as a Steel Type, Mudkip as Ground Type, and Spetot as a Fire Type. What do you think about these, Hoops?
Hey StrongGuy, I like your comment, hope Hoops read it. Gonna work on some stuff for you because I like your ideas!
@shinypokemonman Thank you so much, shiny.
I thought the same about the Lati-twins omigod. And we never net. Crazy
I mean technically Zamazenta and Zacian are armored Pokemon. Both are mono type until you give it a Sword or Shield giving it the Steel typing
I remember the rumor in gen 8, that we will have 3rd version called pokemon gun
Plusle & Minun should have cousins that are based on Multiplication & Division & their abilities functions the same as Plus & Minus called Multiplication which powers up with Division & Division which powers up with Multiplication

Alolan arcanine and nodoking would've been so clutch
No pokemon generations were pre-internet. The internet's been around since the 1960s and has been popular and used at home since the 1990s.
as a rumor dragonite evoled into some dragon in mario or something, had to be in cerulean cave
Dragonite evolving into Yoshi 😂
I remember during the Gen 7 promotion some anime fan in denial spread a rumor that the new thing will be synergie like Greninja !
They wanted Greninja so bad in thoses games.. XD
Where is pinap oddish? Pinap oddish is what im hyped for in S/V but ended up heartbroken when I find out it is not real :
We have hotdog… but it’s a shame we didn’t get too hot dog water
I think that maybe for gens 1-4 many of the rumors may just be what GameFreak /Pokemon Company wanted but due to limitations they chose not to. As for the rumors for gen 8, I mean Charizard did get a new form and "armoured" pokemon did exist i.e Zacian and Zamazenta. I just think for that rumor there was probably and error in translation.
I've heard you can evolve Pikachu into Palkia, I mean, both start with the letter P LMAO
someone at my school told people including me that dragonite evolves to ariados, that was just a really weird thing to tell other kids back then XD
Imagine Diamond and Pearl with just Rapidash as a fire type lmfao
"Get this wallet because its thin! Now put this bulky thing on it that triples its width and size!" No thank you.
I always thought latias and latios were evolutions for plusle and minun
Love the nicknames for your Pokemon
I've been playing the games since Gen one.... I hardly remember any of these.
The jinx one would’ve been nice as well
I remember the gen 9 rumors that there was gonna be another eeveelution lol
I remember that to,it has been a long time since we've gotten a new eevee evolution so of course people (including me) want a new evolution for eevee, every new gen I get my hopes up
I love Skeledirge but I also really like the fake final evo for fuecoco
I would like to believe that with every new game that comes out, so does the rumors and that the developers are probably watching out for them too. Then picking out which one would sound fun to add to the game right away or later on as a DLC or maybe later on. Lol
I remember being told Meganium could learn fly I restarted the game originally picked totodile so I restarted the game and picked chikorita was hoping it was true cause that was so odd to me. Essentially I found out it wasn’t true. A generation later we get Tropius -a lot of these rumors was just us Americans tryna catch up
I used to think beheemyem or whatever evolved into regirock
I swear I saw it in a guide book but idk
Gen 7 rumor: literally a harambe pokémon.
