- (Windows version) One of the best flight simulation! Played on joystick - Ultra realistic simulator , which serves as a trainer for the USAF pilots !
In 1998 the company Boeing introduced the simulator in Prague, which ran on the same engine as the F/A-18 Korea by the company Graphic Simulation. The simulator was made at graphic Computer by Silicon Graphics. Graphics and animation speed was the same as the F/A-18 Korea. As control was used HOTAS of aircraft F/A-18. In 1997/8 pilots used to practice these games with similar (if not identical) engine.

I remember using the mission editor to make this game more exciting. I would have enemy stealth bombers approaching the carrier and you had about 30 seconds from starting the mission to launch before the bomber dropped a nuke onto the carrier. I timed it so as you were flying away, you could see the nuke detonate and slowly watch the carrier sink into the ocean. I would than stop a whole fleet of bombers from nuking a city. That was a fun time.
Long before DCS, Flanker, Falcon 3.0 or 4.0, before Jane's F/A-18, there was this beauty. So many memories!
Nostalgiaaaaaaa.... I loved this game so much !!! I'm sad that today it's hard to obtain the same kind of "scenario" and "ambiance" into modern aircarft sim.

It was 100% the reason that I always played inverted y axis. I have no idea how I got ahold of it but I played it on my moms computer in 3rd grade, and had read the entire manual wanting to be a fighter pilot. A visiting pilot on career day was extremely enthralled with me and my knowledge of AOA physics. Landing clean was always the goal

This actually looks really cool for such an old game. I played some of the similar ones like A-10 Cuba but don't think I ever saw this one until now.
F-18 Operation Iraqi Freedom Runs great natively under WIndows 7. To bad this game isnt currently being worked on, has so much potential! Would love to see a update or patches for it!

I think it's worth mentioning that Star Fox lied. Doing a barrel roll doesn't help you. The best way to defeat a missile is go perpendicular to the launch and dispensing chaff (As opposed to going head on like you did). If you're at a high altitude, you can increase your odds by sacrificing altitude to gain airspeed. The problem is that the planes you were fighting are "Pulse Radar" fighters. Meaning they have a stronger lock and that makes it harder to defeat a missile.

Hello there, ı have F/a- 18 korea cd game. I couldn't install in win 10 cause 64 bit. How can I install this game?
I have the Mac version, which ran only in Mac OS 9, on PowerPC, on Voodoo and ATI rage cards... that is soooooo hard to get working now lol. Basically impossible if you want 3D acceleration. What a bummer. I wish Apple wasn't so big on "killing the past" sometimes, it would be nice if there were good emulators for this software and it was still readily available. Maybe the Windows version would work with Glide wrapper?
I still haven't played a modern sim with such a nice, simple, sand-boxy campaign. Modders love Falcon 4.0, but they never bother to mod the ugly out of the UI, and just make a nice contained story line that is easy to fly and enjoy.
There was a newer version that ran on windows and had the graphics acceleration. That would be the version to run now. I had that same version, upgraded my G3 Beige and ATI Rage card with another vram chip to get it running properly.

Its free on net as abandonware, just google "f-18 korea download". Not sure though if it will run under modern OS, maybe dosbox will do.

great game, even its software graphics are nice.
I can also attest that F/A-18 Korea does run fine on windows 10 too, as well as PSF. F/a-18 Korea though domr versions dont seem to have compatible installer (my german version doesnt) in which case, if you can just install it into another pre windows 10 system, or into a virtual windows (i used Oracle VM) you cna just copy the game folder back to your host system and it will run - the software render is fine, the 3dfx option wont work, but there will be compatibilty for it in a future nglide update that will enable it
nGlide version 2.00 (only this version number...) is compatible with Hornet Korea @ win7 and win10 and will give you Glide without problems
whats the difference between f18 korea and f18 precision strike fighter?
about 4 years... It's arguably a graphic and technological upgrade to F/A-18 Korea but to my eye the improvements are minimal. This, mixed with it releasing in 2001, essentially the end of the 90s era of the flight sims(yea... 90s), probably resulted in it's poor review scores. I never played it. However, I did play F/A-18 Hornet 2.0 for the Mac, 3.0 for PC, and Korea. It should be noted though, they're all basically iterations on each other. Anyone remember the Red Flag mod (was it a mod or a weird expansion?).
cmSaS To point out.. This video has graphics similar to F/A-Hornet 3.0 but with a 3dFx card (Voodoo 1 and 2s) you could get better visuals that were closer to Precision Strike Fighter 4 years later.
is the PSF working perfect on win 7 64 bit? cause i know the korea and 3.0 aren't

USAF pilots don't fly the F-18, so I highly doubt they used this as a trainer... -_-;

I spent hours doing online battles, atone that spent time in #Hornet on IRC will ember what guns only SFP was about!!!

Excellent manual and concept but, like all sims from this time, the grafix are pathetic and dont live up to hype in the manuals.
