It's be more interesting, if the "viruses" were the real antivirus, and Dave was the virus. I'd love to see a HEXAGE-styled game ending screen where Dave says something like "Thank you for letting me destroy your PC".

If I would make this I would’ve made it a puzzle/stress management game where you had to look in different files for passwords and text and stuff to fend off the virus. I love the idea of the virus being in every file and you having to panic to defend your files
Words cannot express the level of anxiety and rage the shooting enemies have put me through, and I began to hate the page itself for making me select the game screen if I clicked too fast or having buttons that overlap the screen with either no or a hidden full-screen option... but cool game and concept. I did like making D.A.V.E. angry by selecting the wrong options, nice touch, and I ended up hearing every failure dialogue since I died so many times. Maybe it's actually not that hard and I'm just bad at that style of game. But all those times a storm of bullets were sent at me from seemingly nowhere... yeah, this was the first game in a very long time I've rage quit. Wish I could've seen the ending...
This project really showcased how creative and through you are, that was actually amazing how you made it feel like a desktop. Its always the little details that count and you've done them to perfection

It's a funny idea but there are so many reasons it would be a terrible idea to implement. Anything that acts like an actual virus at all is going to get detected by actual AV, and then removed from the game jam. Plus it's way too easy for a "non-dangerous" virus to actually break something.
I played this for the first time and i have one comment, in the boss fight, by aligning yourself half decently where the boss is off screen, but when shot you can see the sparks, you can weaken it without any enimies attacking. This was a really good game. thank you.
The game was a lot of fun to play, but I discovered that in the boss fight, I could shoot one of the orbital squares, position myself right up against the core, and shoot it constantly while letting the remaining orbital squares deflect most of the red projectiles.
I thought the video and game were pretty neat. Id say, after knowing all the work you put into the screens actually showing art and being clickable though, there was not a lot of time to play around on the desktop before the virus took over. I expected that to be more subtle and not such a sudden takeover. Also I spent way too long watching the end scene thinking eventually it would end lol. All in all very impressive work!
For 2 weeks, this game looks awesome! Would be awesome to make the player actually solve puzzles or "debug" the viruses, but I like to top down shooter too!
needed friendly "computer bits" that the enemies attack as well and also take damage from your bullets and generally get destroyed in the chaos of fighting the virus, then needed a scoreboard with a timer for how fast the virus was stopped but also how much damage the computer received
Oh my god my phone is charging from my laptop and it turned itself on a few seconds into the video; and the popup window to access my phone's files almost gave me a heart attack lmao
