Just one? Impossible. "Goodbye stranger", then "Take the long way home", "Breakfast in America", "It´s raining again" , "Fool's overture", and the list can go on and on.
Strongly agreed, and also, 'bloody well right'
I concur
Bloody Well Right came from the Crime Of The Century album, not Breakfast In America.
@@paulstewart6203 Came here to say that. It's an incredible song from an incredible album slightly earlier, Crime of the Century.
Supertramp is just a great band in general. You guys agree?
Love this song! Supertramp were a great English rock band formed in 1969. They had so many hit songs in the 70's-80's such as "Breakfast In America", "Goodbye Stranger", "Take The Long Way Home", "It's Raining Again", "Give A Little Bit", "My Kind Of Lady", "Cannonball", "I'm Beggin' You", "You Win, I Lose" etc.
And let's not forget Bloody Well Right, from Crime of the Century. Incredible.
Goodbye Stranger.
With one of the best outtros you’ll hear.
Great band Supertramp.
British of course.
Yes, oh my! That guitar riff!!
I've never heard anything like it
Supertramp had their own sound, there was nothing else like it at the time. And we were ready for it.
Breakfast in America, Goodbye Stranger, Take The Long Way Home
Goodbye Stranger
Breakfast in America
Take the Long Way Home
Awesome reaction, keep up the good work. 👍
I don't know specifically why but we love Supertramp in Canada. This album being my favorite.
You can't go wrong with Supertramp. So much goodness.
You must add School to your repertoire. Couple of their later tunes worth a go: Cannonball, Brother Where You Bound, I’m Beggin’ You … there’s more but a good start.
It's a shame that people are not used to letting a song "build" these days... can't apreciate the simple and want all the feelings in an instant... to feel something it has to have contrast, but it doesn't mean that the simple part doesn't have it's own kind of flavour and sweetness.
School is a must!!!!!
Yes, live
The evolution of pop music, The Beatles, E.L.O and Supertramp....
Fool's Overture {from "Even In The Quietest Moments"}
Rudy, off of the same album, is pure prog rock!
Long Way Home
Please.....school......my favourite until i was 12 years old..... Now I am 57....👍
The album Crime of the Century is an amazing journey. Fantastic instrumentals and unique vocals. You'll enjoy every song. Hit "Rudy"!
Goodbye Stranger is an absolute must!!!!
My favorite Supertramp song is "School." Awesome instrumental break.
🌟🌟Breakfast in America💥💥 You’re welcome! 😊
The entire album called "Crime of the Century" tells a story - and it pays to listen to every song.
I have said this before but it bears repeating.....
The 1970s AM and FM radio airwaves were FULL...so full of amazing music!
Mainstream radio spoiled us!
We could hardly change the channel without finding a GREAT song!
His vocals starting at about 4:48 are so expressive, so emotionally beautiful....
I can't get enough of that.
We not only listened to the music but dissected each part too. So much talent. God, I miss those times.
Love "Lord is it Mine" from the album Breakfast in America.
every song on this LP is good...a couple GREAT songs
Another great Supertramp song that features Rick and Roger dialoguing back and forth. Almost a trademark for them.
Give a Little Bit! That would be a next great stop. Great sax riff and beautiful lyrics! “Now’s the time that we need to share, so send a sign and show you care…
Roger wrote this as a teenager at his moms house when they got a new piano. So much SUPERTRAMP, more please!!!!
Salvo, man, the whole album, "Crime Of The Century", is a must play start to finish.
Breakfast in America!
“Take the long way home” And “Give a little bit”
Take the Long Way Home
School is nuts great. A landmark song in every way.... production arrangement musicianship...all of it
Can't go wrong with ANY of the songs on their Crime of the Century album. Thanks for adding Supertramp to your listening and reacting.
Yes please , do School, and Even in the Quietest Moments.
Wild thing to remember, this was 1974.
great reaction. one of my favorite groups.
Yes back to Supertramp! Love the song love you
"Rudy" is epic. "Loverboy" is fun.
Supertramp are great...thanks for reacting to them! "Breakfast in America" by them should be next!
Fantastic band
A couple of fantastic, deeper Supertramp cuts are “Sister Moonshine” and “Even in the Quietest Moments.” Lots of others are going to suggest lots of other great Supertramp songs, and there are many, so I’m giving props to two of my favorites.
I like that you do research
Take the long way home! That's all I have to say.
Quite simple: listen to ‘em all!
You really should be doing this whole album, Salvo. Crime of the Century!
"Rudy" is my favorite track but the whole album is a masterpiece IMO.
I have loved this song for so long, but im not sure why. I love the way the song is sung and the harmonies, esp in the middle. It evokes, makes me feel.
School (live ) !!!!
My favorite Supertramp pick because of the slow, constant build up til the song just takes off, then ends abruptly w the glockenspiel, an instrument rarely heard in Rock music. It's light and uplifting, a great addition to any road trip playlist.
Magical is a perfect word for it :-)
Breakfast in America next - Dreamer sounds like a daydream back in the classroom days.
I absolutely love Roger Hodgson's (one of the lead singers) solo song "Had a Dream (Sleeping with the Enemy)". Strange title but an absolute BANGER. Incredibly underrated!
4 albums in a row in the 70s - not one bad song, on them. From Crime to Crisis to Moments and then Breakfast, this band could do no wrong. 2 writers/lead vocalists with different musical influences. Top tier musicians in the band. Gotta check out “School”, next?
My favorite Supertramp song! Just wonderful! So glad you reacted and enjoyed it so much!
"Even in the Quietest Moments "
Every Supertramp takes you on a journey. And it often has a deeper message. Makes you think about the mening of life. Why are we here ? (Song: The Meaning).
Fool's Overture is a must listen, as is Rudy.
I adore Roger Hodgson........the LIVE version of "Even in the Quietest Moments" is astonishingly touching. It always gets me teary-eyed.
friggin all of them
School is a good one; Take the Long Way Home is another; Give a Little Bit. There are so many good Supertramp tracks! I'd also suggest trying the live version of this track off their double album set, Paris.
Please listen to School next! Glad you loved this song. Thanks so much!
I think it was the perfect length. It's a happy lil tune. Kinda reminds me of a school teacher watching a kid putting their head in their hands ("Oh No"), daydreaming & not paying attention, missing the entire point. Lol
School, Rudy and Goodbye Stranger are must !
Fun song!
I love your reaction! I think this is a beautiful, interesting , playful song. Very pleasing to the ears.
Everyone seems to forget their self titled lp super tramp! Brilliant haunting album, maybe iam a begger, surely just 2 great songs on it. Prefer it to later lps.
Rudy, Crime of the Century title track are 2 of my favorite songs. I've seen them live and it was a great journey.
Great, great band. Fantastic songs and a perfect combination of excellent musicians. You can't go wrong with anything on their run of albums from "Crime of the Century" through to "Breakfast in America". "Take the Long Way Home", "Give a Little Bit", "Even in the Quietest Moments", and "Lady" are four more great songs to check out.
It’s such a great song, but too short!
Another good song by them is..Give A Little Bit! Please give it a listen!♥️❤️😊😎
Back in the mid 70s there was so much good music on the radio. I took this song for granted although I liked it. but listening to it now, it's a really good song.
"School" is definitely a good place to go next. Crime of the Century is a great concept album, and "School" fits right into the theme of the other songs from the album you've already listened to.
"Lord Is It Mine" is one of my favorites, just Love Supertramp!!!
Fool's Overture is epic!!!
School is a good one. I have this album on CD for long drives. My fave tho is "Even In The Quietest Moments"
U just made my day 😊
Consider "Rudy" from the Crime of the Century LP. It takes you on a journey.
You should check out the EPIC 16 minute masterpiece known as Brother Where You Bound!
School, Hide in Your Shell, and Rudy, just to start. Thanks for the reactions!
Yep. Top 5 when I was a kid. Haven't listened to it in a while. Thx G.
I love Supertramp. They have a nice size library. They do have some longer songs. I love all their songs.
Listened to this song so many times in my high school years. Hard to believe it was written in the early 70's.
Goodbye Stranger…… you won’t regret it.
This was a single in 1974, with "Bloody Well Right" on the other side.
I am not sure about the lyrics or meaning of this song, but from start to finish the Wurlitzer piano is epic!
"It's Raining Again" by Supertramp was my go-to song when I needed a pick-me-up.
BTW I've upped my membership to All-Access Patreon a few days ago.
Fun light song but School is completely different - you really can't go wrong doing an album review of these superstars. Great musicianship and imagination. #rodgerhodgson has colored our lives with rainbows of sound
Ha! Oh yeah. Love love love.
Brilliantly produced song, timeless
Supertramp is as worthy of a rabbit hole deep dive as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Rush, etc. They stand as equals imo. They are probably one of the most underrated bands of the 70s. You could take the rack klistings from their albums, Crisis? What Crisis, Crime of Tthe Century, Even In The Quietest Moments and Breakfast in America, throw a dart at that list oif songs and everyone is at lreast great and most are amazing and brilliant songwriting and musicianship. Supertramp is a true musical gem.
More albums the supertramp please
Lots of great songs, but SalvoG will really like "School". That's his style.
You should listen to Fools Overture 10mins of sheer brilliance it will blow your mind it's one of the best rock songs of all time
Yes, please do “School”!
If you were 62 Supertramp would be one of your all time favorite bands
Good reaction, your take is pretty right on and this one has a unique and creative delivery. Definitely one of their very best.
This (Crime of the Century) is, imho, their best album, and I hope you listen to "School" from it. Great reaction, sir!
The Finger awakens... School next. Or maybe Crime of the Century,
🎹🎹🎹 🎸🎸
YOU NEED TO DO ( SCHOOL ) OPENING TRACK ON CRIME SALVO! 😊YOU'LL LOVE THE BOOGIE UP AND DOWN THE KEYBOARDS AND JUST THE WHOLE SONG 😊
School is a very good choice for a next Supertramp reaction. Imo, Crime of the Century was their best album.
Check out Bloody Well Right from slightly earlier in their career from the incredible album Crime of the Century. It was a huge hit and it's brilliant.
