It'd be awesome to see an Ace Combat inspired game where you get to fight against UFOs from real life aircraft counterparts (F-16, F-22, etc.) to Super Fighter types like the ADF-01 Falken or the Yukikaze advanced fighter types.
Advisor: Ok so... We have Marauders and a Fury ready to be dispatched for operations, what will you chose to intercept with commander? Commander: F-16s.
@@Savior20061 They're actually not though. F-16s are aluminum based. these are more like the real f-17 and the f/a-18 which are titanium magnesium. It says in the xenopedia. Its why your planes can take some hits and local forces are mostly incapable. These planes are experimental. And it just so happens these new light materials being used are much more heat resistant.
This is glorious. I had too much fun watching the packs of Condors tear apart larger prey. Never played the game, but compared to other playthroughs I've seen, your airfight style seems superior. Thank you for sharing.
Dranak Dranek, I am an old x-com veteran, but aerial xombat there was almost non-existant. In Xeno actually there is an aerial combat mini-game, that I actually like. A good player (like you) can do wonders in that mini-game. I am planning to master it as soon as possible :)
Dranak Mastered is right! Shit. It's a shame pilots don't gain experience, though if you do have any of your Condors still on an old save game do you think you could screenshot or otherwise report their # of missions and kill count?
Wow... just wow. If it wasn't for their low flight range, this video would've tempted me to try a run with all condors to improve my manual combat skills. I didn't even imagine you could take that last group with condors only.
Thanks. In my latest episode, I do a 1 condor vs 3 Fighter battle that gets a bit sloppy. All Condor was viable at a certain point in the beta, but now they're too slow to be very useful.
That and the fact that they can barely cover the range of a base with 3 radars... I'm still playing on normal, with Insane's reduced flight range they must be really hard to use.
Dranak I just saw the Condor battle... I would've lost horribly in that matchup. But I'm already in the heavy fighter stage, I think bordering interceptors... Sending a second corndor or a corsair seems pretty necessary. Maybe with some smart use of the plasma missiles, but I think I'll still need a few playtroughts to polish my air superiority skills to that point. I also need some heavy advising in regards to how to be able to build a proper fleet, even if I have the funds, I'll have to expand my ground troops team to be able to get enough GC to get the materials.
A single Corsair can beat any three alien interceptors. The key is to fly at a 45ish degree angle to them with the AB on, which will get them to turn at an angle that makes it easier to get your Corsair behind them. A good way to get more air practice is to just load a save (or copy/load in ironman) and just play through the air combat side and completely skipping ground combat to get in some practice. Building up your ground team to gather more resources seems like it might work if you can do it with just money (while still having enough left to build planes). A lot of the time the cost of a second ground team isn't cost effective because they can cost so much to outfit.
Condors can't do jack against heavy fighters, they are only good against light fighters or as a decoy for heavies, unless they start behind them, then they can use afterburners to catch them before they turn, otherwise they are toast
Dranak, great videos! I am a new xeno player and the first time corvettes appeared, I was totally lost. Even if my ground combat is steadily improving, I almost rage-quitted the game since my 2 Foxtrots auto-resolve chances were around..20% or so. Manual combat was new to me and I was sure I had zero chance of progressing in the game. Now I know WHO stands no chance of winning! Thank you.
Hmm, aight so this video got recommended to me only now. The enemies seem very reluctant to firing for some reason? Trying to full-frontal assault like that nowadays gets your condors lit up pretty badly very fast. Still, great use of the dodges.
I'm too lazy to go through patch notes, so it's possible this was recorded before that last air combat rebalancing. I also pause a ton, which makes the enemy rate of fire look even slower. The general tactics are still valid though.
@@stephanismirabar Yeah, albeit i prefer a more hit and run tactic myself. I always try to force them to dodge into my missiles (happens a lot if your plane is at a 90° angle from the enemy). It's tricky but very satisfying to pull off. I've even hit fighters using torpedoes! On my last ironman run i fought off three fighters with two Foxhounds.
CE changes UFO AI, they now can switch target. So not sure if it all applies the same. Still, nice exemplary of skill (also, I was totally able to clear 3 fighters with 2 condors after gaining lasers)
Oh man, that's awesome command... or piloting skills! It looks so cool! but i don't know why this video shows in my recommendations on 5 after years. Maybe because im start to play xenonauts? :)
Yup thats good strategy. But I always take a risk. Shoot missiles and then try to take down it with gatlings. Its easier when alenium explosives and heavy laser weaponry is researched but then its too easy
