How to use Annie Sloan Craqueleur For an industrial style furniture flip.

  • In today’s tutorial you will see me using Annie Sloan Craqueleur for an industrial style finish.
Over the years I have used this product in many different ways from my faded grandeur techniques right the way through to industrial style finishes which I think works really well, in this particular tutorial you will see me using the product as pair the manufacture instructions and then I turn it on its head for a different style of of cracking the illusion is to create what appears to be old weathered gloss paint which is something that is rather difficult when using chalk paint but I think the results can be quite staggering for that farmhouse or industrial style finish.
As usual I would always say pick up a board practice these techniques prior to moving onto your main piece of furniture because environmental differences like temperature can change the outcome but usually it’s pretty well-behaved.
This tutorial also works well with my industrial rust project and I will link in that tutorial if you want to catch up with it or even watch it prior to this one the two will work really well together but for now I hope you enjoy this one if you’re new here please don’t forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell for future projects.

30:00 this is really a note to self. Because this is where you start the alternative way for using the crackle. I am upcycling a manequin (torso) at the moment and would like to try it on this manequin.
Thanks btw for all your inspiration and ideas. I watch your videos all the time and get to learn a lot from them. And when I am painting I still play your videos because I like listening to your voice and the music you use. For some reason it works comforting for me to know if I ever make a mess I can make it work and go from there😊

What you used as rivets are known as 3 prong furniture glides ; used to be called domes of silence as they were put on the foot of your chairs and desks so if you slid your furniture across the floor it was quieter and wouldn’t scratch it up.
I’ve never used Anne Salone paint….is the red primer the color name or is it a primer…or both??? Is this a mineral or clay based paint? You have a great eye for color combinations and detailing.

The top drawer yellow is as the manufacture instructions explains how to use just applying over a flat colour and the lower two drawers I mixed part two into my paint which then allows the paint to split revealing the under colour which was primer red I hope that makes sense 😊❤️🙏

I have just found your channel and it's wonderful! You may be sponsored by Annie Sloane and that's why you use that crackle. Your handy hints have helped me souch, I'd like to share one with you. If you want a crackle effect, paint over the base colour with a thick layer of cheap PVA glue. Then, when it is just dry enough to paint over with the top coat, paint it on and dry with heat. You will get a crackle effect. Ginger Chick Rehab uses this technique a lot and you can see it on her channel. Can't wait to see more of what you do!

I've got one piece here that is similar to this little cabinet, but the drawers don't volunteer to open and close - have to figure out how to fix. Sanding the drawer rails? I love your tutorials! I get so many great ideas and inspiration from them! This may be a stupid question, but after I pour chalk paint out of the can, it tends to dry in the well (circle) and get hard and then I can't put the lid on properly and then the paint dries out...Do you have a tip for this problem? Again, I love your tutorials! You are super talented and super inspirational! Have a great day ..looking forward to your tip!
