- Embedded leave technique using Annie Sloan Chalk paint. In this tutorial you will see me using Chalk Paint as a substrate to create an impression of a real leaf leaving all of the vein detail behind almost as if the leaf was still there.
Unfortunately there is no furniture makeover just two sample boards, same technique different colourways the idea is for you to follow along try let yourself the same way on a board before going to get creative on your larger projects…. Love the kitty!!! She's so sweet and she seems to adore you. Funny story: I put bead-board on my ceiling. I placed it on the floor to paint it haint blue. While it was wet, kitty walked across it and left little paw prints over one side. 🤣

If you put thin metallic ink or paint on the leaves along wiith your first coat you will get amazing results. I used my flower press but now I will try your method as it will dry faster.

Thanks for the reminder Johnathon. I once applied ferns on walls with plaster than painted over it. It came out wonderful.

I've been a bit obsessed with using Raspberry plant leaves to print with...they are such a lovely varied shape and size...the veining works very well too! I have to put a back on a display unit my late husband made for me and was wondering what to do on it.. and now I know!! This was an absolutely wonderfully detailed tutorial, as your others are as well. Each year my husbands family cousins and spouses gather together from several states to share there talents for a weekend of crafting. I really enjoyed this video! When I walk my dog in the afternoon we walk alongside of a creek. I am drawn to the different leaf shapes of the natural plants that grow along this bank. late to comment. I make my own pot pourri and also press flowers to laminate as book marks etc. I didnt want to wait to press in book and sometimes they stick to book pages. So I press between 2 pieces of parchment paper with a low iron. Like you said only a little or you will crips out the leaf. I have painted a leaf and used like a stamp but I totally love your method to gain the look of the whole leaf. Will half to try.. I mix my own paint too from sample house paint bottles and make my own chalk paint with plaster powder.
I love all the work you have showed us and wondered if you can use skeletonised leaves although they are very delicate. Please keep up the good work. I shall be looking for more tutorials. Thank you so much. Lorraine

I was looking for a quick technique to add some detail to a piece. This is not quick but beautiful. You should do the same process with lillies paws... :)). I don't think she would be still long enough and would be determined to lick the paint off. : )). Happy Painting!
