You give more data than anyone. Yes many explain theories and concepts well. Much needed. At the same time you cancel out speeds and grain along side barrels pressure and MOST importantly you say clicks for distance. That gives us the best data. Oh this speed equals approximately this group with this weight.
nice comparisson Gert. i have the same result with the knockouts in .216 they fly around like peas out of a drainpipe. i have bought a box of .217's to see if they perform better. i also shoot with h&n 23 grains and they perform very well. i can shoot stones 2 inch size at 100m. very satisfying 👌
I don't know about those groups with slugs. I can get 1 inch group at 100 yards with jsb 18,13 grain pellets.. out of a 500 mm superior heavy liner .22 cal.
Yes I can do the same, the challenge with pelletsis the drop in velocity at 100m as well as the wind effect, even the slightest breeze with pellets will have a massive impact, the slugs are much more foregiving in wind and beyond 100m pellets are just about useless. I never hunt with pellets beyond 70m (always windy where I stay). Pellets are cheaper and less fussy, so depending on your shooting ability and purpose the choice is easy.
Love the Sumatra comment 😂 Best I've managed at 100m with my .25 Samyang eagle claw is a 43mm 12 shot group with the 34 grain H&N slugs. Is fantastic to be able to get both good quality and performance at a such an affordable price! However I do envy fx owners having the availability of a wide variety of different setups and upgrades for all different model's.
I am an FX shooter for the simplistic reason the adjustability of the gun, for my videos and testing it works, is it the best out there... debatable. I have several other .22 air rifles, life with them is easier, once I get a decent pellet/slug I stick to that , no adjustments needed, if the accuracy is there then go for it, why do you need all the adjustability? Once a slug/pellet works then don't fiddle around! Even the big UA-camrs don't adjust their guns at all, once they get a setupthat works they KEEP it there, that is why they have so many guns - each one set for a specific slug/pellet. The adjustability beyond this is just marketing fluff. There are a lot of cheaper guns currently in the market with darn good accuracy once you have the correct slug/pellet. I love my little Nova Vista Behemoth (Air Venturi Bullpup) - I am outshooting the expensive guns at 50m. at 25% of rhe price, and I don't have to worry about adjustability as the Nova has an outside adjustable regulator and hammer spring, same as the FX!
Great video again! Have found the H&N really like the slug liners and seem to be the most consistent. I have also noted that the Knockouts much prefer the normal superior liner, can only assume this is because of the 216. Strangely if you look at the 25g H&N group discounting the low shot you have about 1" elevation the rest is wind ..... not to shabby
I do have both and planning on how to do the comparison, the challenge here is that each liner must be re-tuned for harmonics between changes. I might have to shoot this over two weeks, week 1 do the Heavy liner I currently have and week 2 the "normal" liner. I actually want a 2nd barrel set so i don't have to take the liners out every time as I am heavy handed and might brake or bend something...
Again I'm finding nothing is more accurate than the h&n slugs I shoot the 21g 218 500mm slug liner A at 940fps out of my fx dreamline and they are pellet accurate and buck the wind so well
Thank you for the upload. For me the knockouts 216 perform better at lower speeds 930. . The 26 javelins needs a lot speed to tight up . 1000 FPS. But I also found the H@N to be the most accurate. To bad they don’t mushroom like the others.
This is a late request BUT Pleast do a TWIST RATE measure for the various. Liners FX USA told me one is one in eighteen and one is one in twenty four I don't remember which is which. MY bad AComparison saying X shoots better at 1-24 rather than AT 1-18 is more specific than using Brand names which FX doesn't print on the liners I appreciate you effort keep up the specific work THANKS Tom
Have you tried lube and maybe a silencer with a one size over caliber,,. Dam your getting smaller groups 🙂,,. Plus if I remember your earlier years 980 to 995 some of those groups looked like they had promise great video keep em coming!!
Yes, I actually did change silencers, the one in the video is the DouX Silencer, about 40g lighter than my DonnyFl Koi, it groups slightly better at 40m than the DonnyFL, and it has more to do with the weight on the barrel and harmonics, the silencer itself doesn't effect accuracy.
Actually did use a wind meter, didn't help, the wind meter just confirmed that the wind is gusting and swirling around. Every shot was different wind conditions.
My FX Impact shot the 26gr Javelin very well.I only did them at 40 yards but it was with the 700mm STX pellet liner.A little adjusting I think it could be hole in hole accuracy at that range.
The smooth twist barrel doesn't have aggressive grooves like the Walther Lothar barrels, thus the big difference between pellets and slugs doesn't effect the STX barrel that much. I do however shoot a couple of shots in-between video clips to ensure that the barrel gets used to the new lubricant between slug makes. The FX barrel doesn't have to be cleaned as regularly as a normal barrel. I have seen the difference between JSB and H&N lubricant on their slugs can be big, but if you shoot 5 shots through the liner they "lead" the barrel enough to get the best possible results. All the best.
I don't care about about repeating myself: H&N FOREVERRRR.😂 AND: KnockOut RUBISHHHH 😂 Gert, DO NOT sell yourself short about the 150m, it's not 50% more than 100m...if you know what I mean. You REALLY have to try it with no wind, or at least with a breeze, the slugs do very well in the wind, but they do not preform miracles! I would like very much to see at 200m (NO WIND), but only with the heavier ones (>25gr)...who knows, you might be surprised with yourself...I know I was. 🤣 🤣 You can change your MO by aiming at small targets instead of grouping, and see how many shots you need to hit them, so you can correct for wind. For those distances I use the slug tins. 😁 Keep it up! 👍 👍
I did shoot off camera at least 8 shots with each slug before I started going for my target, this was to insure that the aim point and clicks on scope was spot on, battled a bit as some shots "disappeared" on my test target... wind totally pushing it off target, this was even more evident when I took out the pellets... next video will show the pellets in the same wind at 100m.
Jsb knockouts micromiter at 5.49, not even 5.50, Chuck them in the bin I just micromiter 5 knockouts with 3 different micrometers and they are 5.489mm Which converts to 0.216. So don't put these in any FX barrel lol. I bet you could tip your gun up and that slug would drop out. And these were the 217 lol god knows what the 216 are
Great question, I think the answer lies in that the only quality gun out there costs double the price.. .DAystate Alpha Wolf. The FX can be great without any expensive items, I made a recent video about it. Transfer port and pin probe is all you need to increase speeds and be able to shoot slugs.
@@antj211 Whahaha, yes, if you add everything the promotional guys add. My "big boy" FX has been kitted out nicely since I bought it, 700mm barrel, new heavy slug liner, power kit, new plenum, pin probe, dual airflow. And the leatest addition is the bigger 72cc plenum. But my 177 FX only has 2 add ons, pinprobe and dual flow air port. And I replaced the aweful FX barrel with a LW barrel. Big improvement. I had a hard go at FX for making such shoddy barrels, don't think I will ever get a sponsorship. lol.
@@AimSmall The people need real world experiences and honest reviews! These companies like FX should be ashamed of repetitive products with a new name and claiming there's a difference! Someone needs to file a class action suit against fx for false advertisements

Wow!!! Really appreciate this test.
Low or no wind would be very interesting too. Very nice 👌 👍
hn win!!!!! always!!! love hn
H&N all day everyday, the 25grain(.218)work so well for me too.nice video once more!!Keep it up gert.
Which slug liner?

great video, I´m trying to tune a FX Impact MK2 compact to do BR50
Why the compact if I may ask, my new MkII is a laser at 50m with the 600mm barrel (superior heavy liner) 90 bar reg and a huge shot count.
I don't know about those groups with slugs. I can get 1 inch group at 100 yards with jsb 18,13 grain pellets.. out of a 500 mm superior heavy liner .22 cal.

Scusate qualcuno di voi ha testato gli shenko ultramag 22 Cal.?
Thanks for the time you’re putting in. Are you using the original hammer spring (57mm) or the one that comes with power plenum (52mm)? Cheers!
I bought the power plenum seperate, thus it isn't the power kit with the new hammer spring.
Hey Ben, what is the app or software you use for ballistic calculation PIO, group size, ect.?
Range Buddy for group size and Strelok or Chairgun for BC/click charts etc.
best chanell impact

A wind meter like a ,Kestrel, would be helpful to determine speed and direction
Heavier wind speed heavier slug ??
