Always have the mower on full throttle. That’s the way the engine and pumps were designed to run. Just because your full throttle doesn’t me you have to mow fast.

You need to run it full throttle. I have an Exmark Lazer Z who's owned by Toro. It's a legit commercial mower.
It runs the hydro pumps on full pressure like they are supposed to be. Just when you engage & disengage the blades use half throttle. The engine & hydro pumps are made to be run at full throttle.

The cooling fins on the fly wheel need the extra RPM under load to keep the engine cooler as well. It is not a question of power at all. My dad never ran his mower full throttle and I cleaned the carbon build up every year. Finally, one year it wouldn't start. The carburetor and the intake manifold were filled completely with carbon. I spent $600 of my dad's money on a carburetor and new intake manifold. The Stator blew when everything went haywire too. He ran it wide open after that and I never had to clean it again. 27 hp Koehler twin. That was 14 years ago. I still have the tractor and push snow off my almost 300' driveway when it snows.

I would second what everyone is saying about full throttle mowing..ALWAYS mow at full throttle. If you need to slow down that's what the motion control levers are for. Look in the manual there are a ton of tips on this.
Maybe i'm not seeing it right but the Rops bar pin goes in those holes when you take it out...we just purchased one of these machines and I also thought the pins where wrong as well.
We've owned a ton of mowers through the years but I can say that Toro make some of the best mowers out there(and exmark).

I'm wincing watching you pivot turning direction.. You'll soon learn to turn with a 3 point k-turn - avoiding tearing up chunks when you pivot changing direction. That being said - i thoroughly enjoyed your review - you covered petty much every aspect of running a new machine. Your property looks awesome! Curious - you said this was the first use, but you also stated the timer started at over two hours. Was this a used machine when you purchased it? Two hours equates to maybe two acres +/- of cutting time. I also just purchased a 2021 model (last week) and will be using it for the first time either tomorrow or the next pending rain stopping around here. And yes, I also saved a considerable discount since the 2022 model has gone up substantially though no changes to the machine. I did check out my ROP bolting - pin and bolt are correct on my model. Tonight I'll check out the play in the front casters and see if I have the same issue you encountered. Okay, subscribed and looking forward to more of your videos! Thanks for sharing my friend!

Absolutely agree with the others anything with a hydrostatic or dual hydrostatic Transmissions needs to be run at Full Throttle when you come to a stop or before you take off then being Throttle Down or not Full Throttle is not a problem anytime you are moving or mowing grass you need to be at Full Throttle otherwise you will not get much life out of your hydros they will start whining and will not work as well and will ultimately fail and need to be replaced your speed is controlled by your handlebars not by your throttle position common rookie mistake that will cost you money and down time the same rule holds true for any thing with hydros be a tractor skid steer or whatever Full throttle when operating no exceptions

Do you need to put at Half throttle turn the lights on then kick it up to fall while you’re mowing you can adjust the speed just by pushing the handles les

Check the manual to see the correct ft-lbs of load to set on the cast hub bearings with a torque wrench then tightening the caster pin nuts that should fix the wobble…

Not if it’s a design flaw that’s why they developed a new part the caster housings probably machined wrong

No surprise the fx801 has plenty of power for your deck. Bobcat paired that engine with a 72" deck on mine and it still has enough power. Get that lawn super smooth with a lawn roller then you'll be able to fly with that zero turn.

I've had that model I've got 68 hrs on it cutting st augustine grass nice lawns . You would never run my lawn mowers like that . My spindle doesn't make that noise .

If these are known issues, and other commenters have experienced these same two issues, how could the dealer deliver this machine to the customer without fixing it? And then tell him to fix it himself AFTER he came and got the parts. Very poor service from that dealer.

I'm a commercial landscaper and I have to disagree with having to run the mower wide open all the time I have 2 exmark lazer x series 1 60 and one 72 with the kawasaki engines we never run them more then 75 to 80 % throttle bothe machines have over 3500 hrs. And still run strong withe original engines and hydros not to mention you save on fuel

Do you see how tall that grass is in the video though? Definitely want full throttle for that. Maybe you would be fine a well maintained lawn

Your running at 75% throttle because your getting paid by the hour and milking the clock. Amigo

You were mowing next to the high grass field. What's your take on using this machine to mow fields like that? That's what I'm looking to get one of these for.

Read the Kawasaki manual you need to run full throttle your cut quality will suffer. I have an older Exmark Lazer Z it cuts like a dream mine has a Kohler try to use non ethanol gas with a fuel additive.

Wth... Why are you mowing in that erratic pattern? Just go back and forth in straight lines lol and why use a lower throttle? You're degrading cut quality with slower blades. You definitely need to make a new video

Yep to maintain full oil pressure those machines are are as most full pressure lubed engines are to be run full throttle some require half throttle when shutting off not such a big deal when not under load but a 10,000 machine monkey see monkey do people assembling them that’s are present America
