Hey! I randomly came across your youtube page. I honestly didn’t give two sh*ts about college swimming until I started watching yours and your teammates’ channels. This is a good way of raising awareness and getting people to notice the sport one viewer at a time. It also helps that you have a stellar team. Congratulations 🐻
Very interesting and good training techniques. Wish I had this back in my days as a D1 collegiate swimmer. Don’t think my coach would have thought of this. Great video!
I swam next to this absolute unit at Arizona high school state championships my sophomore year (his senior year) and lemme tell you the best learning experience of my life didn't even care about any other swimmer I was the only sophomore in the heat next to the best in the state. That was good enough for me lmao. Watching him go 15 off each turn in a 100 fly race was absolutely crazy. No joke whole race bro only took 8 strokes compared to my 18.
By far the best vidéo about explanation of underwater .i love Ryan go through all thé détails.true nuggets this vidéo is. Thanks a lot Kyle for your content and Big applause for Ryan !Hope you the best .Salim from paris
Great video i have been focusing of my underwaters for 7 months now and hopefully this will help me more with, you should also make a video about lung capacity like some extra drills so u can comfortably perform the underwaters in races
Basic question : how to keep water out of the nose? 1. You can't exhale all the time. 2. If a little pressure is kept in the nose, water comes in as soon as you release that pressure once you are out of the water. Do you have any tips on that?
how do I improve my lung capacity? I have decent underwaters but I can't hold on to them during races (cant hold more than 4 good kicks off each wall over a 100).
Great question! I think Ryan would tell you to focus on your upper body movement. You want little upper movement, have it drive from your legs and low back
I think it depends on what works best for you. It’s important to keep a tight core and test which tension works better on your back side. Test both out - Hope that helps.
The man, the myth, the legend

His technique and the level to which he breaks down his underwaters is unparalleled.
Its vey nice hearing tips from an experienced swimmer. Good job Kyle! How about doing a video showing us your trips in the pool ?
Trips in the pool? Tips?

He was on another level from a young age - so dominant at all those Junior National meets. Continued his excellence in the NCAA too .
Elite comment 🥇
I have bookmarked his 2015 Juniors 100 free, and I show that race to all my new kids to the program. Ryan Hoffer is our spirit animal, lol.

Thanks for providing the underwater kick video..Super helpful...Dryland vs. underwater practices are so important.
Ya it’s tough to do, but it’s well worth it in the long run
@@KyleMillis love this kind of drill video. Could you make some more like this?
He's up there with Phelps, Lochte, and Shields as one of the greatest underwater kicks of all time
For sure, there are few in the world able to do what he does
@@drym3943 stravius is all time elite too underwater

They are pretty cool!
Very interesting! No wonder why this swimmer is so fast under water!
I know, right? He's a beast in the pool
Fantastic video Kyle

For sure! Maybe a part two with Ryan is in order!
Hey man awesome video! I am trying to improve my flexibility in my shoulders and back for underwaters.. ,.any tips?
Basic question : how to keep water out of the nose?

2. If a little pressure is kept in the nose, water comes in as soon as you release that pressure once you are out of the water.

Excellent video. Thank you
Thanks!!
How does Ryan manage things like lower back pain or any other pain from underwaters? What does he do to prevent any pain from overuse?
We gotta get destin lasco on here!!! Great video!
@Destin? Can we make this happen?
Great Idea Chef
Like to see a second video with the paddles on, and fins on.
Ohh this could be good for a part two!

Great tips and content
Thanks so much!
Awesome content!

Amazing, cheering from Israel

To keep the underwater theme going, I'd love to hear from Dalton, GA's finest Ethan Young
Oh my goodness! I do indeed declare that if this was possible… I’d for sure make it happen! At that one of a kind carpeted pool!
reece whitley, destin lasco!!! even better maybe hugo gonzalez and his im strategy and tips for his amazing swim
Yes I can try and invite them! Great guys, all of them
how do I improve my lung capacity?
I have decent underwaters but I can't hold on to them during races (cant hold more than 4 good kicks off each wall over a 100).
Practice, practice, practice!
The more you work on it, the more you train your lungs at top capacity. Over time improvements will come.
Scottsdale legend
He's still the man!
What should we be envisioning or focusing on when underwaters
Great question! I think Ryan would tell you to focus on your upper body movement. You want little upper movement, have it drive from your legs and low back
@@KyleMillis Thank you
Question, are you supposed to tighten your lower back for undies? Or just have it be super loose?
I think it depends on what works best for you. It’s important to keep a tight core and test which tension works better on your back side. Test both out - Hope that helps.
@@KyleMillis It does, thanks
We want to hear about STONKS!
