That is outrageous. I practiced quite a bit to get 48 yards underwater. I always heard of Olympians able to go 50m, but I would never have imagined someone could go 150m.
It is pretty easy to get 50 meters. Just follow his tips. took me about 2 weeks to learn it.
People asking how to relax under the water...
.
People should notice first few things...
.
When in still position and only holding breath... Observe how long you can hold your breath... When there's someone out on the surface.... Making movements in the water...
You'll feel that you're gonna get panicked...
That's the feeling we have to control...
.
.
Just that thing you feel in your mind when water around you is moving... Control it... You'll know how to swim longer after that...once you control that feeling...
You'll see how easily you'll be able to go longer and farther underwater... RELAX❤️...
.
Edit:... Speed and distance you shouldn't be thinking about at all...think about it peace...
And keep your body straight to glide...
You can go much farther in shorter breath you'll realise
Shoot my goal is to go 25 m underwater with 1 breath .
I’m surprise this is this hard for me as I practice wim hof breath work but man oh man land breath holds are way different than breath holds under water.
But my swimming is weak anyways .
This is a good video though. It looks like probably I use way to many arm strokes.
Not sure how to get far without them and also my body floats back to the top
Of the water quickly if I’m not using legs and arms to move.
I’m going to try this tomorrow when i practice some drills .
just got 100 meters today but never doing it again, almost passed tf out, never doing it again, my ego was too big, they almost had to fish me out of the water
I can’t breathe watching him underwater
@jjjjjj1135 That’s not how it works. Just because you can hold your breathe longer than him doesn’t mean you can do it when you’re in the water. You are most likely doing nothing right now so it’s easier to hold your breath. While the guy swimming is actively exercising so he it is harder for him to hold his breath.
Make sure you pay attention to your vision. You can black out under water easily and although you will be needing to breath, you may not feel as uncomfortable as you would think. Basically, if your vision begins to go black in the slightest, surface immediately. It is one of the common ways people die while training to swim. It can happen even if you feel like you can keep going for longer before taking a breath.
Let me ask a question regarding the suit: The diver wears a suit with long legs. Is the reason some kind of compression or is it about better gliding?
I’ve been doing this so wrong my whole life, can’t wait to try this
Farouk Mahmoud yes I tried it and I can make it much further than normal but I am scared to practice alone
Thanks for these great tips! I applied this today and passed my 25m for the fire and rescue swimming test! Thanks from The Nederlands 🇳🇱
dat is precies de reden waarom ik dit filmpje kijk, heb jij nog tips voor de zwemtest?

Biggest mystery: how to relax underwater?
Hold your breath when doing push-ups to really get a feel for your comfort limit and your true limit
I relax by remembering that I am in control of the water and that the water is supportive and calming and that I have the choice when I want to surface. When I realised this, I stopped fighting the water and getting breathless by moving with the water and allowing it to carry me - hope this helps, it's all a state of mind!
Just watching this, I already feel like I know how to swim 😂
It's The Influence. Keep It Flew Through Our Mind. And At The End We Could Not Be Afraid Of Water Anymore
These tips were super helpful, helped me pass an underwater swim test for a lifeguarding course! For anyone else looking for tips, it's really mind over matter. The diaphragm contractions are freaky and will likely stress you out, and definitely don't push yourself too hard, but most of the time you can ignore them for a few seconds. It's also very difficult to practise this skill, so make sure to take lots of breaks in between dives to replenish your body with oxygen.
Best tutorial I’ve seen yet
Im at 20 meters and still learning. Thank you for the info!
Thanks to you I have a new record of 30 meters! Thank you. I will try to get to 40 but for that I will need to train in dedicated line.
All this time I've been swimming like a scared octopus when racing underwater with my cousins, never knew you had to be a calm squid to cover long distances
The guy must be wearing weights. The biggest problem I have is staying down, which obviously requires energy. Also, he pushes off the wall. But still, I'm not going to even try to keep up with that guy! Nor even think about it. It's like Olympic swimmers who call 1700 meters "a warm up".
How does he swim so fackin fast with such little effort
training makes his technic so good that its doesnt need much effort and so efficient but of course in real if you trying to do DNF(dynamic no fin) its still take effort since move alot means take alot of oxygen and your body start feeling weak cause you got like no oxygen enough
Well mate, that's called physics. Your body and limps should be moved and placed correctly to minimise resistance and increase dynamics. Just love how swimming is complex yet it is simple. Happy swimming.
This should be an Olympic sport! Who can swim further and fastest underwater!?
Congratulation for 100k bro
i once went through the tooting bec lido pool, london, underwater. awesome.
Thanks christian for teaching me how to swim long distances underwater!!!
Thank you! 😉👍👌💙🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊♀️
Nice swimming pool I want go here
Keep calm? Nah bruh I’m DYING
Remember one important thing before diving, DONT EAT, empty your stomach.
saudagar kekura juga well shit every single swim practice I go to I always eat something
I already try to relax but I stop when i reach 1 minute up. Because I don't know if I'm still in conscious.
Thank you sir 🙏
Greetings for you 👍
Very very cool
I learned swimming last April so this is a good tip for Beginners who are trying long distance swimming
How often per week can you do this kind of training? Everyday, or?
Amazing
What is that "arm stroke" thing he is doing, it's 2 moves, I see you do that also.. please show me how this works.
Woah i did it😀This really helps me alot thank you Christian Wedoy👍😁
2 strokes? That's insane
I’m training to be a navy seal and need to hit 50m. I’m at 30 right now. Thanks for the tips I’m gonna hit the pool tomorrow and should see improvement 👍
Oisann, hei på deg normann❤️
I don't know how to swim. I am not so perfect. But I love watching your videos. I literally feel with heart.
Subscribed your channel 😍😘✌
Mansoor Ali awesome man, keep following me on the channel, many other KEY tips to improve super fast underwater are coming in the next couple of days :)))
Christian Wedoy Wanna see more more videos. I had subscribed your channel and hit the bell 🔔 icon.
Do you ever use other techniques under the water or do you find this the most efficient? :)
Great info and video dude, just be aware if you are new to freediving DO NOT PACK. This is an advanced technique that needs proper training to do without having a possibility of causing damage. :)
@JustARoutine ok so a breathe up just means filling your lungs up. Packing goes one step further by forcing more air into your lungs. Because this can over inflate your lungs it is considered an advanced skill. UA-cam search: 'Adam Stern Breathe Up and this will help you out a lot ;) Find your closest instructor and go get wet! Welcome to freediving!!!!
Nice vid it helps alot
I’ve been doing 25 meters for 15 years and attempted to come back yesterday after touching the wall. I felt like I could do 50 meters. I will use less arm strokes.
Good content
You should be in the olympics ur AWESOME
i can freedive now 60m but its my absolute max. would be nice to increase it to 100m for combatdivers but il not sure how should i do it
It is just unbelievable...
2 frog kicks and 2 long arm strokes, to cross the length of the 25m pool.
If the first kick off is 8m, which is already remarkable, each kick or stroke is about 4m.
My guess is the water is quite warm, to make its density as low as possible, and the swimming suit is of high-tech material with the minimal resistance.
Still, this guy is super strong.
when i dive i stroke like a penguin to get faster to the other edge. how to glide longer, whats the trick?
I can’t believe a 50 m is possible 😂 I literally suck at holding my breathe underwater but I’m the on swim team 😂😂😂
Yeh I can do like 75% of a long coarse pool only with flippers tho I can do a 25m but I ez young child so my lungs at teeny tiny
I went from 20 m to 40 m in about 4-5 months due to this guys tips and lots of practice..
@@kylehardy8562 Jesus bro that’s a lot of time. I can knock out 20-25 m pretty easily and consistently. Haven’t been able to try in a 50 m pool.
@@Oliver-lc9ud Even though a longer pool should be easier as ur not wasting energy turning around I found a 20m pool easier than a 25m, when I’d turn around in a 25m it just seemed so daunting. I also tried a kids pool once which was 10m and I did 40 metres easily for some reason.. maybe because of the push off from the wall.
I went from 7 8 mtrs to 30 mtrs in 3 months/45 hours to be precise...
I'm looking forward to achieve 50mtrs...i think it is possible 🙏...
.
Might sound weird but i actually go blank underwater and keep chanting OM NAMAH SHIVAY in my mind to keep myself relaxed...
.
Can use any trick... But the meditating/relaxed/empty mindset is important...
When i say empty... I mean not even a single stress inducing thought in your mind... Pitch white or pitch black in your mind...
Not sure how to explain it properly... But did ya get it? 😅Just sharing opinion 🙏
Only thing I learned in high school study hall was how to hold my breath for 2 minutes. That part is as much mental as it is physical. Other than that, with a total inhale, you need to be at neutral bouyancy, or how ever you spell that one.... 3 strokes for 25 yards is pretty good.... Okay, excellent.
Neutral buoyancy is a big part of it. Divers use weight belts. Swimming isn't "natural" for humans, so it must be studied. Water resistance is highest at the surface, so underwater is easier. And technique is a huge part of it all (stroke and breathing), with very slight improvements making a big difference in times.
”Don’t eat before diving”
Me watching this so I can get better when we have Swimming during P.E: ....but..but...but......we have lunch before P.E.......
His technique will only work for low depth pools (as one shown in this vid) see the movement of his hands, due to the presence of floor near his hands, the water doesnt goes vertically downwards, but goes backwards providing the right force.
This is mainly for anyone who is watching this video now and not the original commenter.
The technique used in the video is called the keyhole stroke. It is THE stroke used for all types of long distance underwater swimming/free diving. It has nothing to do with the depth of the pool
Sir how long should we hold our breath Nd then take out d breath underwater ?
You said in another video never hyperventilate but that guy he did it !
Could you explain please ?
Do you hold your breath anyway?
Do you release your breath while you are under water
Hold breath or breath out while swimming?
How do you sink to the bottom if you fill your lungs with air??
That arm stroke. Can an expert fill us in on that technique?
how does your training look outside the pool ? i mean exact schedules and information about your practice ? do you do apnea walks ?
Hows that even possible,150+m under water ?
COOL
can you tell the advantages of wearing a wetsuit for DNF pool distance ? Do you glide longer ? What weight on the weight belt & neck ? if no wetsuit, what weight do you recommend ? thank you :)
I cannot believe doing 150m is even possible!! 😱
Well he is pushing himself with legs on each end so in ocean it would be less
Great video! Thanks for the helpful info. How do I stay below water though? I always float back to surface unless I exhale. Is it because I’m fat? (Clinically, I am considered fat).
Its easy, just bring with you some weights and add them to a weight belt, 3/4 kilos maximum and you will stay underwater easily
And not its not because you are fat... u can stay underwater anyway... just 4 kilos is the key
Whenever I go to a pool I always try and race underwater, my limit is 25m so maybe I should so down though I doubt much will change for me xD
Wow how can your even do that.....
hmm was always told eating before was bad for swimming , now i know why ,lol
I do have one question, if I fill my lungs with air especially when I'm wearing a neo wetsuit i am struggling to even stay under water. I need to fight to not float on the top... any tips?
Your lungs are making you float. The air in your body is making you more buoyant and making you float. One tip is to stay in a tight streamline so you sink more because your weight gets more focused and try to stay even and level in the water, where your body points in the water is where you go, so make sure to focus on technique, I’m not a professional by any means nor do I free-dive but I swim competitively so I know about my underwaters
You need to have weights to be neutral at the depth at which you are diving! All freedivers use them, in the video you can see two tubes/weights around his neck.
N.a. bombooòoooooòo.
Ok sir
when should we exhale without weight?
Jeffrey Tanuwidjaja without weights you have to exhale, with weights you dont have to exhale. You should exhale only when you wanna start desceding down at the bottom, only at that moment you have to, not before, not later...
I’m very scared cause I have swim lessons at school and sometimes it’s deep help m
I can manage to cover one length =25 m not an inch more. +150 m is simply insane, but I noticed the swimmer does not use legs and arms simultaneously presumably to save oxygen, which might be the secret.
This fella is swollowing air into stomach first 🥇
Could you swim far underwater without using weights?
Thanks I was in search of such vedio....this will help me ...plz need more vedio on underwear...
And there is another thing that is important but rarely seen: Perform proper recovery breathing (At least 3 Breaths) *before* you give your ok sign!
When do you exhale while subsurface swimming??
Davide Dameno Freediver not to be a smart ass, but that goes without saying. I mean while you’re swimming the 50m.. some people say exhale half way and others say exhale periodically as you’re swimming
Never exhale before you surface.
The air you exhale contains oxygen and if you breath out you can't swim as far.
@@Christian_Wedoy What about the floating? I need to exhale at least half of the air so I can swim without floating
Great video but like no one explain how to move the leg foot
How to make your body under water, coz when I take good breath the water push me up , please help
In the guys performance it seems so easy...
When i breathe alot I float
Won’t the body naturally float to the top of water with lungs full of air?
Is there is any technique can be used instead of breastoke to swim in underwater?
Shiva Hari yes you can use also fins or the mermaid monofin to swim underwater... otherwise if you dont have monofin on fins how i do in this vid is the most efficient way to do it.
@@davidedamenofreediver why armstroke and leg stroke seperated?
and since leg have more muscles wouldn't it be more efficiant to use only armstroke?
how come he doesn't seem to float to the surface? when i swim underwater i have to waste so much more energy fighting my Buoyancy. i feel like i pop up like a cork.
But when I breathe too much oxígen I can't fully sink down to the pool.🤔
How about not using that special gliding suit?
How do I stay below the surface without using weights? When I try to do this I keep floating up to the surface which ruins my leg kicks... Any advice is appreciated.
If you don´t use weights, then you do not have many choices. Maybe one - to exhale just enought to float above the bootom of the pool. But this guy in vides does use weight - two actually. One on his hip-belt and then he also uses neck-weight. You can see it at 2:15. HTH
yes bend your head little down and when you use your hand give it right direction
Bro this is called glide
