Recently purchased a new 44. Before taking it to the range the next day I did a field strip, cleaned and lubed per the manual, nothing more. I ran 50 rounds of CCI Mini Mag 40gr, 100 rounds of CCI Standard Velocity 40gr, 50 rounds of Winchester White Box 36gr, and 50 rounds of Remington Golden Value Box 36gr. I shot slow fire and rapid fire in random style. I did not take any special precautions in how I loaded up the magazines either (no thumping on the palm or bench). Experienced zero issues. The pistol operated exactly as it should to the point the barrel got so hot I couldn't even touch it. Very happy here! Lastly, I just wanted to say that I made my purchase based on your experience in this video. So appreciative you took the time to create it.

I am writing this 8000+ miles away from Malaysia. I returned back from the range yesterday shooting the G44. It was a pleasure shooting this .22 as a plinking sidearm. The lesser recoil vs the G19 allowed me to enjoy accurate placement. Compared this to the .22 Beretta we train here, hands down I enjoyed the Glock so much better.

Buffalo, thanks for a great honest review. I've own two G44s that I've been using for a little over a year. I love their low weight, simplicity, durability and accuracy. They've been used hard by me and my family since purchased for plinking, small game hunting, camping, hiking, fishing and carried while deer/hog hunting for final dispatch as needed. We run whatever ammo is handy in them and they just seem to work with no issue. Both shoot a little high like you as you noticed, but no big deal and easy to learn to compensate. It's a great handgun and would replace in a heartbeat if either were lost. I watched a few other videos today that seemed to focus on negatives that I've not seen with either of my guns. They are daily hard working guns and they deliver bullet on target every time when needed. I live in the country and have two teenage boys that I'm sure use and abuse these guns hard, much more that some of these so called youtube experts. I have to agree with your assessment on this gun 100%

Watched a video on this from Lenny McGill at the Glock store. He recommends to field strip, clean and well lube this pistol before first trip to range. That might be the answer to some of the issues a lot of reviewers have with the 44 by taking it directly from the box to the range without a good first initial cleaning and lube. Just my 2 cents.

Taurus use to ship their firearms with a slight bit of cosmoline to keep them from rusting. That practice is followed as much now since a lot of manufacturing takes place in the states. The main point of that is you have no idea what you're getting.
My last rifle purchase was REM 700 SPS 300 RUM. Right out of the box I borescoped it and found shavings in barrel. Very foolish to not inspect a new gun.

I am going to put this Glock to work for the next few weeks, you'll see updates along the way, and then I'll do a head to head with the TX 22. As of today if I could just have one it would be the Taurus. But maybe this Glock will win me over.

THANKS for making this video about the Glock 44. I have been on the fence about this weapon because of the conflicting reviews-some from highly viewed UA-camrs being negative about ammo. After watching yours I don’t see the problem. As you correctly mentioned finicky pistols usually show rather quickly. The range of ammo you used gave me pretty good assurance (as much as you can with a .22) that this pistol will run well.

I am very happy with it, same handling as my G19 without the recoil & when my extended families kids want to have a go, they are not using up 500 rounds of my 9mm's in a couple of hours the next time I share my guns! It'll pay for itself within six months.

I think that learning how to load the magazine so that the bullet doesn’t nosedive is the key to reliability.
Occasionally, I had problems with malfunctions when I didn’t seat the magazine properly.
Lastly, I found that the barrel would lead up a little when I shot 300 shots in rapid fire.. It was easily removed with scrubbing the barrel. I assume the leading was caused by the heating of the barrel with rapid fire.
I really enjoy your videos. I like to see the actual shooting and listen to the trigger reset on pistols like the G44.

Thank you for this video. Some 15 years ago I bought a German semi-auto pistol in 22LR. Out of the box the manual stated it was optimized for three brands and loadings of ammo. On that ammo I'd get at least one light primer strike per magazine. Sent it back under warranty, no improvement. I traded it in on a Berretta Neos. That little Neos shoots everything and anything including subsonic rounds. Yes, I know it looks like a Star Trek _"Phaser,"_ but it has been a reliable plinker since then.

My experience with Glock is mixed. Shot a G19 3rd gen and loved it. Wished I could find one for sale as my friend and mother-in-law have one and it shoots like a clock. Got me and my wife G26's and both had frequent jams even after cleaning and a solid break-in period. I've seen some that never jam, and then my sister-in-law's G17 jam every 25-30 rounds. Depends on the shooter, spring, ammo, etc. So basically I don't find Glock more reliable or unreliable than any other firearm. Actually I find Walther's to be more reliable if I'm being honest.

I bought 2, one for my wife and one for my daughter. Stripped and cleaned before going to the range. 1st time we tried shooting the Winchester 333, what a horrible experience, I got really good at clearing all the jams, stovepipes, failure to eject... Once those were done, I had 115 Mini Mags that were in the safe for over 25 years. I had one failure to fire. Hmmmm, maybe it's not the pistols. Ordered Aguila Super Extra 40 grain..... back to the range.... 440 of those fired and only had 3 failure to fire, no jams, no stove piping, no failure to eject.. Goes to show, feed them right and they are great little plinkers.. Very happy with my purchase and considering getting a 3rd for myself since all the bigger ammo is getting so expensive when you fire 400-500 rounds per weekend.

I know two different platforms. Just haven’t decided yet. The G44 being a new release isn’t something I am looking at today. I have a G19 so maybe some day.

Wise man taking your time on the decision. I wasn't in a hurry for the Glock 44 but I was seeing so many negative videos and forum posts that my curiosity go the better of me. I just have to see what the fuss is about. Now that I have the first 200 rounds out of the way the follow up videos won't have to be so long.

Buffalo's Outdoors, great and thorough job on this gun as always with a great camera man. That's the fastest mag loading I've ever seen. Not likely to pick one up personally, but was very interested having a growing love for 22lr around home for plinking and varmint control. Huge problem up in MN with opossums in the shed and barn during winters. That said, it's great seeing you in a T shirt with no white on the landscape the 1st week in March. All my 22lr firearms shoot mega Federal Auto-Match lead RN with a mag or two of CCI Mini Mag copper jacket to clean up the rifling at the end of plinking. This winter my Beretta 21a has been my companion most days riding in my front pocket. Love that little rascal. Be well and safe.

Buffalo - I purchased a G44 a couple of years ago about the time this video was made. I have run thousands of bulk ammo rounds through the pistol and heavily used/abused the pistol the whole time. Mostly it has been carried in a OWB leather holster. I've not cleaned the gun much, but will use a plastic brush to clean the insides out when it gets really filthy from powder fowling. I can't complain about the pistol at all. It just seems to work with no complaints. I did install the Glock fixed plastic rear sight in place of the original adjustable plastic sight. The adjustable sight seemed a little flimsy to me and I like the ruggedness of the fixed rear sight . Nothing has broken or cracked on the pistol after all of this use. The pistol is not as accurate as some of my solid steel pistols and revolvers, but it is accurate enough for a field pistol. The best features of this pistol are the ultra-lightweight and the corrosion resistance since most exposed surfaces are polymer.

Excellent review. I was mildly impressed that the Glock had no issues... one should expect that out of a .22 at that price point. I still have no intention of buying one. I love my G17, but at $200 ~ $250 for a Taurus TX22 you cannot go wrong. Mine eats all kinds of cheap ammo and the additional mag capacity is a no brainer.

great video buddy. you addressed all the issues the others were having. you ruled out loading the mags a special way which was classic. the a mixture of 36 grain to 40 grain with hollow points and round lead heads. your right some will throw crap out there to get the hits on thier videos. but I know and all the guys that comment here your a straight shooter and not gonna twist nothing it is what it is. Like I always say you do Kentucky proud great job again.

I have had issues with the Federal HP in my Ruger 10/22s that have bull barrels. they have problems feeding the edge of the hollow point gets caught a lot. other hollow points bullets like Remington Goldern bullet work great in my Rugers. I have great success with the CCI Blazer it feeds in every .22 LR I own even the picky chambered Bull barrels.

The 10 rnd mags are most likely so they can sell them in the more restrictive states like NY. Then they can charge too much for other mags or just let pmag or whoever come out with larger mags and not waste design time. As for old ammo, I have some Rem yellow jackets from about 93 or 94. I ran a box through my Marlin 25N without issue about 2 years ago. That particular box was in my range box for about 25 years. But hey, age of ammo is as good an excuse as any to enjoy the sounds of freedom. Thanks for taking the time to demo how well it cycles that many types of loads.

You did a great job in shooting 20 rounds of various .22 lr ammo and the results are impressive. Also now there is a pro mag Glock 44 mag that holds 18 rounds in the same size format as the factory Glock 10 rd mag. Thankyou for this video.

I have always thought the fun of a 22 was finding the ammo that the pistol/rifle liked best . To complain that a 22 pistol won't work with a certain kind of load is kinda nuts. Know if a component fails that is something different but Glock will fix the problem and tell the truth Sig maybe.

    • @buffalosoutdoors
      @buffalosoutdoors  4 роки тому +3

I agree. Most 22s are going to prefer some ammo brands over others. It's the nature of the beast we call rimfire. Like you I enjoy finding that magic round that they like. Even with two guns of the same make and model one might like this and the other that.

I appreciate you making this video with no motivation and shooting the Glock44 right out of the box. I wanted the Glock19 or Glock45 but all suppliers were out today. This was the only Glock in the store and I really had my heart set on at 9MM but I really wanted a Glock too although I wasn't familiar with this one. I watched about 5 youtube reviews and they all gave horrible reviews on the Glock44. I was starting to feel really bad about my purchase.
