I just purchased one today, because why not? I've survived 2020 so far and thought I'd treat myself which is kind of hard on a teacher's salary. May everyone who reads this be blessed with good health and please stay safe.
@@bluffkirschman599 you’re right. That’s the message I’ve received from the experts on television. Thank God I have my mask and 6 foot distancing to protect me from those bullets.
I agree, although I always heard never descend the well on another man’s rope, this man’s evaluation of rim fire firearms is heartfelt and honest I believe. If he says there are issues with something rim fire, there’s an issue for sure! Keep up the great work, you are very respected and I love to watch your videos and assessments!
Actually this video is bull shit. I'm not Glock fan, but everyone who owned a semi auto .22 they are very particular about running cheap ammo. All you have to do is spend about 5 cents a round more and enjoy this gun.tjere is no possible way this guy has shot much with a quality 22 running cheap ammo. I have 4 semi auto 22 and I can't run cheap shit in it. Now I have cheap rounds that I run through a revolver, pump or bolt action guns with zero problems. Like I said I don't care for Glocks at all, but let's not pretend they don't make damn good guns. I haven't watched any of his other video's but I hope they aren't as ridicules as this one
It's still a great year watching DemWits trying to rule our lives still. Quite interesting though how people are easily persuaded just from a "celebrity" status. 🇺🇸✝️ *GOD Bless 🙏 America* ✝️🇺🇸
These videos should never be the deciding factor in your purchase. These are typically biased opinions, would not doubt a bit if he already was not a fan of Glocks. Some videos that show guns malfunction and how they think it is a crap gun. What they don't realize the best gun manufacturers in the world have put out shit guns. Remington 700 is a gun I have had malfunction in my hands multiple times. You can look it up on Remington 700's firing when turning safety on. Our u.s. military had thousands that did it. Guess what I have no problem grabbing my new 700. Just luck of the draw sometimes. One of the most shit on guns ever, 9mm hi-point I bought as a joke has never misfired no matter what ammo I use. Now I may not take it out and show it to folks, but for 200 bucks I have no problem withy life depending on that gun to fire
@@ChillinWithBrodyI’ve had that happen on new guns when I haven’t cleaned them first. Understand that a new gun doesn’t come with proper lubrication for shooting. It comes with proper lubrication for storage, since it may be sitting in a warehouse for sometime. Give it a thorough cleaning, then lube it with your favorite oil. Mine is SLiP2000 EWL, but oil is like religion (or car manufacturers…)
and this was their LEGENDARY announcement. And, they said that they cut down on magazine capacity for utmost reliability as well. Thanks for not being a shill!
Ok so I bought a G44 last week on impulse without really watching any videos or reviews or anything. I shot it for the first time today and wanted to give my input on it. I shot about 600 rounds of a variety of different ammo. 36gr, 38gr, and 40gr. From Federal Auto Match and High Velocity, Remington Thunderbolts and Golden Bullets and Winchester Super X. I had about 5 stove pipes and maybe 5-10 failure to fires in 500 rounds. The failures to fires were definitely dud rounds as they wouldn't fire in my buddies Mk.4 either. Honestly we shot the G44 90% of the time today and my friends Mk.4 had more failures than my G44. Including a stuck case in the chamber of the Mk.4 that needed to be rammed out. The one thing I will state is that 22plinkster is definitely right about the magazines needing to be paid attention to while loading. If you aren't careful the top round will sometimes nose down and cause a failure to feed. Although for whatever reason it seemed to mainly happen while loading certain brands of ammo (Winchester Super X) Although that seems kinda ridiculous and is probably just my imagination. My gun also doesn't have a problem with shooting high. But it did shoot quite a bit to the left. So I had to adjust the sights. In summary I am VERY pleased with the Glock 44 and couldn't be happier with it. On a side note I'm definitely not a Glock fan boy as this is actually my first Glock.
Taurus TX22 has No issues with any type of ammo and you could load the magazine any way you want and there will be NO problem did i mention is a 16 rounder and less expensive than the TX22.and i have 10 Glocks Handgun but i will NOT buy this Glock 44 i also wrote to Glock,Thank you.
Mixed feeling. I love glock, I love the whole idea of having a 22lr to train with. But after watching the vid, my enthusiasm has rapidly pined down a lot
Just bought my glock 44 2 weeks ago to train my daughter on a handgun. Together the two of us have put about 300 rds of blazer 40gr without a single failure. I am keen to try some other ammo to see if it has problems so we will see. I do think it has been a great training tool for my daughter especially when she moves up to my g19 I feel she will have a better understanding of the trigger pull and lining up the sights. Either way I feel like it was worth the price just for the training aspect.
Betsy Ross 2a does not appear to be a video; Facebook post (search: Military Arms Channel). Here is the screen shot. facebook.com/militaryarms/photos/a.202676953077445/2990428227635623/?type=3
It seems these are fairly rare, but I suspect there are more than the two examples I've stumbled upon. Since the guns are just getting out there into circulation it will be interesting to see how frequent these failures are. I know I'm buying a mix of slow and fast .22's plus I ordered a threaded barrel. If the slide can be cracked, I will do my best to crack it. I should have mine this week then I'll know more.
The Glock 44 has been worth it to me, same size as my Glock 19 and I have been able to practice my trigger pool inexpensively. Plus I can help train others, beginners with the smaller caliber.
Exactly. I don't care what anybody says most guns sooner or later will choke on junk ammo. Some more than others and apparently the Glock 44 is in the more group. For me though I didn't buy it for fun and I didn't buy it for plinking. I bought it to teach my wife. This fit the same holster as a 19, the grip feels like a 19, etc. Some people can train with any 22 and transition to any gun and be ok. Not my wife believe me. For me the light primer strikes and FTEs are a small price to pay for the training benefits. Want more reliability, buy better ammo. Training is worth the .06 per round. That being said it's performance is disappointing and I would never use it for anything where my life counted on it.
Why not just get snap caps to practice the trigger pull? I suggest snap caps as not everyone likes to dry fire even though a lot of guns it is no problem for
Thank you 22plinkster for an unbiased review of this new gun. In times like these when ammo is now no longer available on the shelf the last thing a person needs is a picky gun that needs special ammo. Something to think about guys!
@Betsy Ross 2a Had G19 that couldn't run ammo my P-07 ran without issue. Glock is a solid pistol, but it's not the magical weapon fanboys want you to think it is.
I have a G22 which is my favorite handgun by far. Extremely reliable. Law enforcement wouldn’t use them if they weren’t. This gun though is definitely a disappointment.
Thank you, I was actually headed down tomorrow morning to pick up on Glock 44 just because I like Glocks and they typically shoot anything every time the trigger is pulled. Very glad I watched this and saved the $450!!!
You guys seriously are all wrong. A cat can be a very dangerous and distracting muzzle device and if Plinkster can split cards over his shoulder I imagine he knows when or if you can or should mount a cat. Plus if it’s a hairless cat that may be enough to make a bad guy surrender faster the racking an 870 in the dark.
I know. I still can't believe Taurus 22. One of the few guns I bought right away.. And it was a Taurus. But still love it. I still can't get over it. Cheers to Taurus
Wow. When l see that in black and white, it has a serious effect. Very true. I've shot a tx22, not as ergonomic as l hoped, but plenty accurate and reliable.
Ouch. Taurus is now the example of quality over a Glock. My guess is Glock will fix this, but if they really tested it as much as they claim, how could they have not caught this?
I haven't shot a Glock 44 but I do have a TX22 & have been very impressed with it. TX22 is a great trainer for similar sized polymer/striker fired guns--much better than something like a Ruger SR22. I'd still rather shoot my Smith 41 or High Std Victor, but am impressed with the TX22.
@Rooster Cogburns Eyepatch Some great advice, thanks mate. I'm guessing unless you have a lot of powder and a 40g projectile then getting 5he thing to cycle would be very difficult. Would accuracy be a function of too short a barrel to induce enough spin plus max velocity not reached? I shoot a Lithgow .22 rifle and it's very sub 1 moa groups at 100yds/mitres with CCI standard.
Love your channel!! I ran 250 rounds of Federal bulk pack 36 grain rounds through my Glock 44 and not one hiccup. 250 straight flawless rounds. Just wanted to throw it out there. Also ate my Federal 40 grain just as well. My 44 has been perfect so far!
Rick, same for me. Paid $360 at Big Town Gunshow (Mesquite, TX) on Sunday. Monday I put a few drops of Rem Oil on it, shot approximately 500 rounds of various ammo with two hiccups (ammo problem). Federal bulk 36 gr, Federal 40 gr, Federal Auto Match, Winchester 36 and 40 gr, CC Mini Mag, Remington Thunderbolt 40 gr. Shot mostly bulk Federal 36 and Winchester bulk. -- One small problem: I may need to adjust windage. Groups nice but about 1" right at 10 yards. I'll shoot it a bit more before I adjust it. May just be my old tired eyes. Good gun. -- I also think that Plinkster must have just gotten a lemon.
I have ran old ammo through it that has been sitting in the dirt, rain, snow that other shooters have dropped at my range and it has shot anything i have put in it. I love my glock 44 so much it has replaced my ruger 22/45's
@@22addict40 Do some looking around UA-cam, and you'll see people have issues with TX22 (barrel rifling) also, and just about every other handgun made too. I bought a Glock 44 last month. I have to say the mag is far from the best, but if you take 3 seconds to loosen the tension on the mag upside down, and give it a shake (making sure all rounds are nose up) it makes a world of difference. I just shot half a carton of nasty bulk Remington from 2008, without a single issue. A fun gun to plink with.
@@Skulllywag yes sir I have seen those reviews about the barrel issue but it was mainly on the first batch that were released and since been fixed that issue per Taurus and updated reviews. I have 2 newer models, 2020 &2021 models and nothing yet, fingers crossed...lol, but they do have a lifetime warranty unlike Glock. I do LOVE my Glock pistols, there’s just times in life where you can’t afford Glock and get the best you can at the time. I agree with you on the every other gun has problems sometimes, I was actually going to get the tx22 and the G44 but I have yet to find a G44 and the price is so high anyway. I got the 2 tx22’s for the price of one G44 but money is not my problem, I just can’t justify the G44’s price and not really getting a “better” 22......hope you have a Blessed Memorial Day Sir, SEMPER FI🤙🏻🦾🙏🏻🇺🇸
not to mention that thicc 19 sized magazine.... and all they did was a simple single stack for 10 rounds? in the days of the PMR-30 surely they could do better than that.
22plinkster nope! No need to apologize, I like glocks too but it’s hard to come by honest non biased paid for reviews that don’t tell what people are really experiencing
Wish I had watched the entire video before I commented I will not be wasting my money on this especially having to buy another barrel Glock is trying to rip people off just because of the name
Agreed. Seen this comment a couple months ago and took your advice and I’m so happy I did. It’s better in every way. No reason a 22 should be 500 dollars. Just because it’s a Glock doesn’t mean it should be that much
Thanks for the "heads up" on the G44. I bought one and used several brands of 40gr, and each worked without an issue . I also put some old "Zapper" through it without issue. Tried some "sub-sonic" 36gr and it was a no go. Put about 300 rounds through, and for me, it is a very decent shooter, (with the right ammo). I think it has a pretty smooth trigger with an easy re-set, and decently crisp follow up shots.
Just as a followup, I believe that the issue that is encountered by lighter weight/slower 36gr rounds is the result of a heavy recoil spring in the 44. The G44 racking feels pretty much like racking a G19 or any other center fire G. With a "heavy" spring, the G44 needs more weight/power to consistently function 100%. Bulk 36gr. ammo, or subsonic or other under powered ammo just doesn't cut it. Would it be possible to fine tune the G44 to handle bulk, 36gr. subsonic? I think it might by replacing the heavy spring with a lighter one. Would I do that? No, because I would rather use the little bit more expensive 40gr high power ammo than to do the light spring switch. If anyone puts the lighter spring in the G44, IMP, they should probably only shoot the lighter stuff for fear of damaging the gun with harder cycling 40gr. I'd guess that you could switch springs and shoot what you want, but I'm too lazy for that. Your thoughts?
Now here's a puzzling phenomenon. Yesterday I got my hands on a new in box Taurus XT-22. I put 300 rounds through it without one single problem or issue. ANY ammo. 40gr., 36gr, high velocity, sub sonic, old, cheap, bulk anything. Perfect function on every 16 round mag. Perfect. Although I've owned and carried Glock for many years on duty and in retirement, I have to admit some disappointment in the comparison.
Thank you for an honest review. I was considering this pistol until I saw your Taurus TX22 review, and decided to buy that instead. I wasn't disappointed with the performance so far. Glock does make very reliable fire arms, but with a base price of 424, I was able to buy the Taurus, and 1500 rounds and still had money left over.
During the ammo bullshit period.. I bought a g44 and Walter 1911-22. I have minimal issues g44 with jamming with ammo when I load my mag carefully.. one thing is obvious Glock 10 rd mags vs 18round pmags.. winner Glock mags until pmags are broken in. (Roughly 2k ) I have roughly 5000 rds thru the Glock 44.. but if you don’t carefully load the mags you will get a lot of practice clearing malfunctions. I shoot 38-40grain and PFS of 1100 and get 3-5 jams per 300 rounds.. Most shoot the cheap federal stuff 40gr and 1100 PFS.. Accuracy is above average but could be my eye sight, the rock in my show or bug buzzing in my ear!! Still overall a joy to shoot and Glock customer will work with you if you have an issue.. The Walter 1911-22 the same but more accurate. At least 5k rounds thru that two.. Just really clean the guns every 300-500 round till broken in the. You can go 600-800 round before cleaning..
I have a Sig Mosquito jam-O-matic. When I want to teach jam clearing skills I take it to the range. Best .22 is browning Buckmark. I have an old S&W 422 that never jams.
Juan Salas my mosquito works well with cci mini mag 40gr but is trash with anything else of less quality and I ended up buying a browning buck mark from one my customers, can confirm it eats anything and is great on accuracy!.
He's not lying about the Taurus TX22. I've owned that gun for almost a year and love it! I own the TX22 and the Ruger SR22 and they are both fun to shoot and extremely reliable. I've don't think I've had any problems with the Taurus TX22 and my daughter prefers shooting the TX22 over the SR22. Nice ergonomic design, grips, sights & 15 round capacity. I highly recommend it if you're in the market for a .22lr pistol. Of course, you can't go wrong w/ the Ruger either.
Thank you for being candid with your opinion. I think it is what makes your videos so reliable along with your knowledge and experience. Keep up the good work. You and Hickok 45 are my go to guys for info.
I absolutely love my TX22! I got mine on sale for $240 runs like a top.. great feel, 16 rounds, not ammo picky, threaded, and shoots POA just a blast to shoot
@@JaronActual I was going to say the same thing too, but being a fixed barrel pistol the Mark IV is kind of in a different class. Maybe? Idk, that's the excuse I'm going to use to buy another .22 pistol anyway.
@@juniortat5908 Marks aren't as expensive as they might seem. A basic 5.5" 22/45 is about $330, though that is a touch larger than the G44. You can also get a 22/45 Lite with top and bottom rails and a threaded barrel for $440, which is the same size as the G44. That may seem pricey to the G44 at $360, but remember a G44 threaded barrel is another $100. And the Mark will perform much better. Though, yes, they're not exactly the same class of pistol. If you absolutely need a rimfire trainer for your Glock, a Mark won't cut it. But if you just want a solid .22 semi-auto pistol for plinking or teaching new shooters, a G44 would be at the bottom of my list.
HVAC123 I almost bought one yesterday. It was $100 more than a full FDE Taurus tx22. I have to pay some taxes this week so I got the Taurus. Maybe Glock can work the bugs out in the coming months
Hi everyone!! Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Just like he said the Taurus TX22 is a FANTASTIC gun!!! IV had mine for about 2yrs and put probably 2000rds thru it of all kinds of ammo, bulk stuff NIB, old junk drawer ammo that is more than likely 10+ yrs old, expensive stuff.. basically anything I have or could find during the Great ammo shortage a few years back. That Taurus is amazing, accuracy is fantastic, durability is amazing and it comes with a threaded barrel! It's also easy to take apart to clean and is also very light. The capacity is also better than the glock, out of the box it holds 16+1! You can also get some awesome upgrades as well, I've already put a nicer spring in it instead of the cheaper plastic guide rod spring. But you can get mag extensions that bump up the capacity even farther to 21rds! The Taurus TX22 is by far my new favorite 22 pistol, and IV owned/ shot a shit ton of 22 pistols. Can't go wrong with one! Buy it and you won't regret it! It also has a growing market for all kinds of fun accessories and aftermarket parts! I've seen people deck out thies TX22's into comp guns that are insane!! So up against the glock 44 it's a no brainer. The TX22 is way cheaper ($200-$250 when I bought mine), it has more capacity, more reliable, has an aftermarket just like Glocks do, also feels more durable in the hands than the glock since it has a metal slide unlike the Glock 44. But once again it's all down to what shoots best for you! If you only shoot cci mini mags and your Glock 44 does great and you like the fit better than any other 22 pistol... Go for it!! But I encourage Glock Fanboys to at least give the TX22 a try, you won't regret it. This all is coming from a Glock fanboy! I've had Glocks for almost 20yrs now and love them!! My gen 3 G17 is my go to CC gun and it goes everywhere with me... Even to the toilet in my own home lol! Never know when shit can hit the fan!💩💩💩
I just tried my newly purchased one for the first time, and it had no issues eating any of the ammo I tried in it (36 or 40 grain) and it was shooting point of aim out of the box. Your mileage may vary.
@@varider6381 so I went and broke mine in with a good 450 rounds of everything, and I had three hiccups. One fail to feed early on as the mags were breaking in and two fail to eject, both on federal ammo. Everything else was good, CCI, thunderbolt, white box, aguila stuff...
I just bought one today actually my first Glock pistol ever.I have many guns by many manufactures and was skeptical of this 22lr.But after shooting a few hundred rounds earlier I love it! Ran 40 grain remington thunderbolts through it flawless and is a bulk ammo.500 rnds for 19 bucks.Wildcats 36 grain ran 4 mags only one misfire. So far this little pistol has exceeded my expectations but only 329 brand new for it.Anyways like your vids and nice gun review.
I picked this up for my wife cause she's left handed and it has the ambidextrous slide release and you can flip the mag release. I've put close to 500 rounds through it with 1 failure to fire, light primer strike. I agree with the sights though I haven't been able to get it properly zeroed and I'm glad it's not just me...
I've been shooting my G44 now for about 14 months. It shot high with the rear site fully lowered. Replaced the front sight post with a 0.205" sight and that moved POI to the middle of rear sight elevation adjustment. Accuracy is so so. Typically 2" groups at 15 yds. It does not like most 36 grain ammo unless hyper velocity. 38 and 40 grain no problem. Loaded magazines need to have the follower pull down slightly and a quick shake to settle the cartridge case heads against the magazine body and they function fine. Overall, I'm happy with the pistol and would purchase again. Love the low weight and corrosion resistance. Great field pistol.
Do you know why almost every manufacturer makes 22lr with only ten rounds? I checked my favorite website and saw the Taurus you mentioned, which is the only one I've seen with more than ten.
50 shades Of FDE I’ve got a late 90’s Glock 24C in .40 cal made and stamped in Austria...I’ve never had a problem or a malfunction and it sits next to my bed in my night stand ready to go. With that said lately you can tell Glock has lost its way and failed to react to the changing market. The whole point of a 22 rim fire is save money so if you have to buy an expensive gun and ammo to boot then it’s missed the mark
First time viewer. I appreciate your honesty. Am a Glock owner, as well as other firearms. Am looking for a 22 in a pistol. Never thought I would say that. All my friends, 7-8 years ago started buying 22's. Couldn't get ammo!!
I shot 300 rounds through my new G44 today, including 36 grain, and I had NONE of the problems this guy had. I am planning to use mine in the upcoming Glock match in Tallahassee!
Yeah I picked up a G44 recently and so far so good. Plus most guns take a few hundred rounds to break in anyways. If you get the G44 for the right reasons you can't go wrong. It's a great training weapon for people who carry a G19
@@justingill7660 Okay you don't know everyone's situations. For me, training with a .22 version of my carry gun absolutely makes sense. I can not afford to shoot 9mm, especially not now with the whole corona thing going on. 9mm is impossible to find, and prices jacked up. Even before that I couldn't afford to do so. I'm medically disabled and can't work. Currently am in a court battle to get disability. My next court date isn't for two years so who knows how long it'll be. Until then I'm virtually broke. When I can buy a brick of 500 .22 for $20 it absolutely makes sense to me. Plus sometimes it's fun to just shoot .22. I also have an AR-15 chambered in .22 so buying a brick of .22 for $20 goes a long way
This has a design reminiscent of the KelTec PMR-30 I own, specifically the hybrid steel/polymer design. It's not too finicky about ammo too but runs cci/speer perfect. The main difference between them are the Glock has a striker, KelTec has a hidden hammer, glock has a 10 round single stack, KelTec has 30 round dbl stack. The KelTec also is hybrid blowback. Most of its issues come from the magazine being improperly loaded, because dbl stack, rimmed ammo magazines are very finicky I think the hammer leads to less light primer strikes, plus the increased pressure of the .22 WMR helps avoid cycling issues. Just my opinion
The first time out with my Glock 44 I had issues I took it home cleaned it real good all is well now I paid $359.00. That is the price at least where I live. The federal bulk pack 550 round (Walmart) had issues all the usual 22LR brands performed just fine.
I held this pew pew in my hand and immediately thought "This feels like a toy", and that immediately made me question the value. I ended up buying the M&P compact. I think I made a great decision. . :-)
@@jaspjody-wb9ef I was going to buy an SR22 when I bought my 10/22 takedown and I did alot of research and hear more than Id want to hear instances of the frame cracking and sometimes breaking and chunks coming out under the slide forward of the trigger guard . Was this issue ever addressed ?
Its my 1st pistol. Its what I qualified with straight out of the classroom and i didnt know any different. I am glad that i bought 40 grain rounds for it as again I didnt know any different. cci's were one box and Winchester was the other. You definitely taught me something here today and I appreciate it. I do think ill be checking into a Taurus but ill have to pass on the Toyota 😉 Thank you!
Yea man not a glock fanboy I'm a sig guy well lean more but have shot glocks and owned since the 90s and still do I picked this up for 349.99 and its eaten everything I've put through it which mainly 36 grain..I'm guessing he got a lemon warranty isnt a issue they will send u another.I have always had good warranty through them yea there bitches sometimes.Like when the first gen 4 19 was limping to eject they wanted to call user error but once LE,And military started having the issue the finally addressed it....About 1,000 round my slide just didnt lock back 2 times... literally or I would dog the shit out of it.....

I see a truckload of bitching and crying and pant shitting/pissing about these mythical "Glock fanboys", but almost no Glock fanboys to speak of. It's like their existence is hugely over exaggerated and people just need something to throw a fit about.
I’ve been shooting the G44 a lot and these are the things I have noticed. First the G44 was very picky about ammunition until it was very well broken in. Also you can’t preload a round then the full magazine. It will always fail to load the top round from the magazine after firing the round in the chamber. My other pistols can be topped off and be able to feed the next round from the full magazine.
How do you get that round in the chamber? Do you rack the slide and pop out the mag then add one more or are you putting it in the chamber then just closing it then add the mag?
Put about 550 rounds thru our Glock 44 today. Had 1 stovepipe , and a few first round fail to feed on Federals in the first 100 rounds. Put 225-250 rounds of 36 gr Rem Golden Bullets , no issues. I also did not have the fail to shoot to point of aim that he had. Ours was spot on. By the end of the day we were hammering the 8" steel at 25 yards as fast as we could.
Enjoy the videos and information. I’ve had no problems with the glock 44. Accurate, mostly reliable with all ammo, very few failures and no issues with the magazines.
Glock employees: hey boss shot shows around the corner, we have nothing Glock boss: shitttt go get one of those conversion kits for our 19 make it plastic
You should probably check your facts before posting this comment they've been researching this for years it just because one UA-camr didn't have success with it doesn't mean that maybe he was doing it right and Glock reliability is dependent on some better ammo

You do realize the "-22" is unnecessary, right? Literally every Glock 44 is in .22. Thats the entire point of the separate designation of it being a 44 instead of, say, a 19-22

I am purchasing the Glock 44 and will have no regrets thanks for your review. At my age I need a light weight pistol with large sites this pistol meets all of my needs.
Thank You. I'm buying one used anyway because I was using Glock 19s as duty sidearm since 1988. And will use it only with hot ammo ... like old school Glocks, and to train my 100 pound significant other on Glock Pistols. You're right. After she's ready for the Glock 19 the Glock 44 is out the door. Thank you for your very fair in depth review.
Great video... I picked up a conversion kit at a gun show years ago for my 19 for $120... My first handgun was a Glock 30, have owned almost every model at some point and the only one I still own/carry is the 29... Love Glocks for what they are; given that they will occasionally fail to extract (can’t justify EDC), I choose to carry an FNS9C (will swap out the day it malfunctions - over 12.2k rounds)... For precision shooting I’ll stick to my service pistol, SIG P49 (P210 in the US - over 450k rounds, new barrel not a single malfunction) and for fun I’ll stick to my WC 1911 commander (32.5k rounds without a failure)... Don’t care for brand names, a firearm with one malfunction is one too many and therefore Glock just doesn’t make my EDC cut (service pistol was free, WC was a gift, and FNS9C cost me $350 - not a gun snob)...
Right on brother. Until they come out with a version that has a threaded barrel, larger capacity magazines, and is ultra reliable like the Ruger, Walther, and Smith .22's I already own I'll just keep shooting them and my real Glocks.
Great rule to follow but I have had some first gen that were better. When changes are forced this is not true. The gsg per lawsuit from HK were better than the new ones. I had both mp5 clones and the first was way better.

This is how I feel I love mine too
Lots of lemons with this one. Mine works great too.

@Rooster Cogburns Eyepatch Thank you
@Rooster Cogburns Eyepatch Some great advice, thanks mate.

Perfect. Although I've owned and carried Glock for many years on duty and in retirement, I have to admit some disappointment in the comparison.

but if you don’t carefully load the mags you will get a lot of practice clearing malfunctions.
I shoot 38-40grain and PFS of 1100 and get 3-5 jams per 300 rounds..

Accuracy is above average but could be my eye sight, the rock in my show or bug buzzing in my ear!!
Still overall a joy to shoot and Glock customer will work with you if you have an issue..

Have you shot any federal through it? From what I've seen, our 44s don't like federal. It also seems to eat CCI like its favorite food.
MultiTelan federal 40 grain target worked just fine.
@@PistolsMcGee huh. I'll have to try a box and see what mine eats. I haven't had a chance to break her in yet.
@@MultiTelan same for me, Remington bulk=crap, cci no issues, Winchester x no issues....
Where did you buy for $329?
Hello in northern Ohio.Newton falls
You know you're slipping when Taurus makes a more reliable 22lr pistol with higher capacity
Whale’s Willy name of the gun
No kidding my pt22 poly has been flawless
Do you know why almost every manufacturer makes 22lr with only ten rounds? I checked my favorite website and saw the Taurus you mentioned, which is the only one I've seen with more than ten.
Taurus and Glock can eat my shorts...and i'd own a Glock before i'd own a Taurus.
@@ShiftyKen08 maybe for states with 10 round mag laws... dont know for sure though.
Dave’s stock went up in my book I appreciate honesty and integrity. Glock failed
What the flock? A malfunctioning Glock! I guess Glock is taking a Sig approach to working out the bugs.
It’s a semi auto 22 that isn’t a ruger, did you honestly expect anything good?
Wha kind of ammo yal using? Specifics plz jus purchased 1
@@fullfire0 so is the g19. train with that not a 22 that weighs less. might be cheaper but 9mm is cheap
I also have an AR-15 chambered in .22 so buying a brick of .22 for $20 goes a long way
fullfire0 a court battle for disability...and on a forum talking about training guns. 🤮
Most of its issues come from the magazine being improperly loaded, because dbl stack, rimmed ammo magazines are very finicky
I think the hammer leads to less light primer strikes, plus the increased pressure of the .22 WMR helps avoid cycling issues.
Just my opinion
The first time out with my Glock 44 I had issues I took it home cleaned it real good all is well now I paid $359.00. That is the price at least where I live. The federal bulk pack 550 round (Walmart) had issues all the usual 22LR brands performed just fine.
I have run all sort of .22LR ammo through my Glock 44 (450 rounds). No problems! Nice pistol and is especially helpful when working with new shooters.
It was interesting that it was the 3rd shot on both mags.
I love my little Walther P22. I have the set with both short and long barrels.
Andrew Stoll my mom has a Walther p22, she’s sent about 1500 rounds through it, she’s moved up
To a .380 now
Got mine today at bass pro for 329.... Seemed like a good deal
I own 3 Glocks and love them.....Think I'll pass on this one! My Ruger SR22 is a sweet shooter!
I held this pew pew in my hand and immediately thought "This feels like a toy", and that immediately made me question the value. I ended up buying the M&P compact. I think I made a great decision. . :-)
Glock made such a big deal about how they spent years making sure this was the most reliable .22lr ever made. And it's not even close.
Well I guess it is one of the few drop-safe .22s.....So there is that. But yes, you aren't wrong.
@@pauliexcluded1 Yeah it won't go off when you drop it OR pull the trigger. It's about as safe as a banana.
It just doesnt work with a weaker grain. If u have a 22 why wouldn't you use higher grain?. That has no proble with 38 or 40 grain. 32 grain is a joke

Thank you!
Nice lol. “Three years of development” and it is still less reliable than most other 22s. Even my beretta 71 seems to be more reliable than this.
@Phix i can't think of a more reliable 22 than the Beretta 71

It’s so perfect they had to make five different generations. I’ve owned a G19 and G43 so far.

I see a truckload of bitching and crying and pant shitting/pissing about these mythical "Glock fanboys", but almost no Glock fanboys to speak of. It's like their existence is hugely over exaggerated and people just need something to throw a fit about.
When you have a fail to eject on a semi auto or fail to fire on a revolver check the barrel for a squib. Learned that the hard way.
Had a squib in a 454 fortunately it was in a revolver and the cylinder wouldnt rotate. Oof
I’ve been shooting the G44 a lot and these are the things I have noticed. First the G44 was very picky about ammunition until it was very well broken in. Also you can’t preload a round then the full magazine. It will always fail to load the top round from the magazine after firing the round in the chamber. My other pistols can be topped off and be able to feed the next round from the full magazine.
is the glock 44 a 10+1 gun ? you mean I can load one ammo in the chamber plus 10 ammo in the magazine ?
@@mohammedalamoudi1849 no
How do you get that round in the chamber? Do you rack the slide and pop out the mag then add one more or are you putting it in the chamber then just closing it then add the mag?

Someone explain to me how 4 fewer grains causes light primer strikes...….

K Nelson Glock needs to explain👍
Light primer strikes are a function of the slide not being in full battery.

In the military, firearm designation is repeated over and over, even though everybody damn sure knows exactly the firearm in their hands well before boot is completed. Tell your D.I. You don’t need to be told what your damn firearm designation is because you already know and everybody else in barracks knows and see what that will earn you.
