    Good morning, BOB: I'm 73 and I'm building my first King Hauler for a Good Freind of mine that is handy caped in many ways. I couldn't have built it without your site Bob. I can't thank you enough. You're the best in explaining all in detail. (Note) along with the dos and don'ts. I'm still working on the truck. Thanks, a million. Keep up the great work. i thought everyone takes that approach? the only difference is i don't have a cupcake/tartelette/muffin tine, so i just use plastic snack pots and i have done it since my first rc car kit that i built myself (grasshopper, then a tt02 lancia, madbull then a kyosho tomahawk and soon either a king hauler, a super clod buster, a sand scorcher, or a 2022 thundershot im not decided yet)

    I am building your Sand Scorcher as we speak. The paint will be different but the interior will be 75% what you did. No I want to build this KH. I've seen aftermarket parts for this Semi such as aluminum axles and CNC aluminum parts. Im thinking this summer will be my build.

    Hey, this is a year late but how many separate parts do I need for a king hauler. Is it even still a good choice? I know that I need an electronic speed control, but it's discontinued, is there a replacement? What Servo do you recommend? What controller should I get? What battery and charger should I get? is there a semi truck that is less work, like all the "parts" that come with it. Or something less complicated?

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  Рік тому

      Yes, pretty much any servos will work. The shift servo has virtually no load. I do like metal gear servos for the steering.

    Hello Bob, this is a great video. I want to build my own as well, I have servo and radio from my other RC cars, would they work for this? or do I have to get tamiya specific ones? Im new to the tamiya world so not sure if they are special? Also would standard lipo batteries work too?
    Thank you

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  Рік тому

Just waiting for a set of actual Gepard / Leopard 1 tracks and some ball bearings ) and converting my Tamiya #56020 Leopard 2A6 into a Leopard 2A7+ ( will be sawing off the back of the turret tomorrow and fixing the gap in the front armor due to warped 3D Prints )

    Some advice please. Would it be worth it to buy the kit and use my 1/16 W900 body kit or just buy the parts individually for the custom truck i actually want?
    If i had the space and budget I would buy one kit just to build out of the box and build my custom W900 separate. Unfortunately thats not much an option for me. This will be my first truck too

      I would recommend getting the kit and read the instruction manual to get an idea on what accessories to buy. Alternately, you could download the whole manual from Tamiya USA for free which will give you the same info.

      Yes, they internally threaded for a 3mm screw, On many servos you are screwing into nylon and then you would not use locktite.
