    Adding to UA-cam's fact check. The Holocaust involved more than just Jewish people. History seems to always forget about all the other ethnic groups and others who were slaughtered. There was Roma gypsies, physically and mentally handicapped German men, women and children and many more so called "undesirables". Please, never forget about the other unspoken for victims. Thank you.

      Total bollocks. On its own Britain and its empire stopped the Nazis in 1940, and the Yanks (as usual) were late and seriously lost manpower when they eventually arrived in 1942. Even in 1944 their stupidity cost the loss of a Mulberry harbour when they only put in half the securing bolts (in order to complete it before the British).

      Britain fought this war for years before America formally joined the conflict. Their homes were bombed, they sent their children away for safekeeping, they endured rationing and deprivation for many years, and still they fought on! I’m one American with absolute respect for the British and what they endured. By the way, my father was in the Merchant Marines, who helped the British, and others, fight against their invaders. He also knew how the British stretched every resource to defend themselves.

    This is a fake story riddled with unlikely events strung together in a long series of convenient plot turns that defy common sense, unless you are willing to suspend disbelief and play along with the con job. Thumbs down.

    • @randallelgin6061
      @randallelgin6061 Місяць тому

      Of course! This is historical fiction, to be enjoyed as a string of events that are unlikely to happen to a single person, but provides a fictional plot to describe real historical events, all of which likely happened at different times to different people. I enjoyed the first-person narrative of these events, to give a sense of what life was like for those who did and did not survive this facet of WW2 history, in the same way that I enjoyed reading the Master and Commander series of books, also using a fictional plot and character, but based on real historical events. I have been to sea for most of my adult life, and have read enough WW2 history books to appreciate the detailed description of the environment, tactics and equipment that were realistically portrayed in this series.
      I believe that your criticism is misplaced, as this narrative never claims to be a history documentary, and no one forced you to listen to any or all of it. A lot of research and effort went into this production, and I believe it should be appreciated for what is is, an historical fiction using a first-person narrative to make real historical events more compelling than a documentary. Both thumbs up!
