Whoever edited this video did a killer job with the music. Buckshot is an underrated MC just like Hearns was a boxer. Noone ever ran through Tommy Hearns. Win or lose his opponents came out banged up!
My all-time favorite boxer, since I watched him stone Pipino Cuevas, when I was a kid. The right hand he starched Duran with, was probably the single best punch I've seen landed in a fight between 2 Hall of Famers. Hearns punches looked like he was hitting people with axe handles.
Hands down, my favorite boxer of all-time. Why? The combination of TNT-like power, quickness, excellent skills, a warrior's courage (tremendous heart), work ethic (ALWAYS in tip-top shape), and outside-the-ring likability (loved his fans). Literally never fought a 'bad' fight -- even in his losses. Can't say that about a lot of champions. Look at his career: Truly one of the very most impressive bodies of work the sport has ever seen. Finally, perfect nickname.
For those who wants to see top prime Tommy Hearns, watch his fight against Benitez. Masterpiece of boxing. I can’t see any clip of his Benitez fight in every highlights on UA-cam, but every round of this fight is just incredible. You’ll never see punching skills like this anywhere else.
this man is the personification of the term "knockout artist". the power, speed, sccuracy snd sheer venom of his punches just makes my jaw drop. a true legend, Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns.
i've seen this video so many times and i still love it!! truly one of the greatest ever. i feel at times thomas hearns sometimes doesn't get the recognition in people's all time lists. can't help but think what he would achieve if he was 25 years old. scary thoughts of people hitting the canvas hard!!
I had the privelage of seeing the hitman live before he was champion in Saginaw, MI. It was my first live boxing match. My Dad told me to watch for Tommy Hearns. I don't remember who he fought, but it only went one round. It was a total massacre. Since that moment, I loved Hearns and boxing.
Wow man, Tommy Hearns legend. That was so awesome. Man, I haven't seen a fighter like that since him. What happened to them days man of Leonard, Hagle, and of course Hearns and Duran? That was boxing at it's best, and now because of MMA I dont think we will ever see any like that ever again. Thomas Hearns you are legend man...
Congratulations Thomas. You gave us some of the most memorable fights in boxing history and inclusion into the Hall of Fame was a no-brainer. Well deserved.
I don't know if there is ever gonna be another Tommy Hearns. This guy had some amazing punching power. Even Tyson said in an interview that "Hit Man" was one of the hardest hitting guys he has ever seen. Good Video!
I have a great love for Tommy Hearns Fighting style, that right hand is the stuff of legends, its as if he was hitting his opponents with a gun! Much love for this edit! I watch it almost daily before training :)
Hitman Hearns! Such a unique look in the ring. The incredible right hand, the great handspeed coupled with the long, snaky snap-jab. Motor City Cobra--and definite Hall of Famer!!!!
Always been a big boxing fan. Loved the fighters of the 80's. I guess the most incredible thing I've seen, is HOW Roberto Duran actually lived through that right hand of Hearns.Unbelievable!!
Great video. Glad you put 'The War' in there, he may have been KO'd but it was still a great performance. Whatta fight! That has to be the scariest scare in boxing history.
@Lobsang Tsetan It's Hearns right hand. Of course he theoretically could've KO'd Hagler. BUT Haglers hard head broke Tommy's right hand. The immovable object beat the irresistible force on that night.
Pound for pound one of the hardest punchers and most exciting fighters of all time. How many bad or boring fights has this guy been involved in? Respect to the Original Hitman...........thanks for the memories Tommy.
This was one of the first UA-cam videos I ever saw, way back in 2006 (this was re-uploaded in 2007). Still come back to it every now and again, love the action, love the music - almost perfect... The only thing I would change? Replace the clips from the Hagler fight and with the ones from the Roldan fight. When it comes to Hearns, he's normally remembered for one of two things (or both) - 1), he lost his best two fights against Leonard and Hagler, or 2) the first man to win four titles at four different weights, which he achieved by beating Roldan. By using the Roldan fight as the centre piece of the video, it would accentuate the positive memory of Hearns, rather than the negative 'nearly man of middle weight boxing' label that some people stick to him. Much love & respect, Hitman.
Respect bro, thanks for commenting. I'm getting around to replying to some comments and will take a second to address this. I can understand your viewpoint on adding the Hagler fight but it's hard to deny the epic event which was Hagler-Hearns whether Hearns was victorious or not. Leaving that fight out of Hearns highlight is like leaving the first Bowe fight out of a Holyfield highlight or the first Ward fight out of a Gatti highlight. Some fights define a fighter, even in a loss, and capture everything that fighter was about.
0:52 that right uppercut is one of my favorite punches ever throw, Hearns was a monster with his right hand, the uppercut, the hook and of course one of boxing's P4P deadliest weapons - Hearn's right cross!!!
My No. 1 favorite boxer of all time. Unique body type and style to go with it. Power for days (especially in that right hand, lord have mercy) and those left-handed flickers should be textbook for aspiring jabbers. But most of all, HE DUCKED NO ONE!!! Didn't matter who it was, once the Hitman stepped into the ring you knew he was gonna bring it win lose or draw! Only regrets with him: didn't get a rematch with Hagler and got totally screwed over by the judges in the second Leonard fight...
This man is a wicked warrior. He's got bullets as fists and rockets as legs. Sad to say that there are no more like him in the sport of boxing. It's become a purely money-making venture. Unfortunately, it no longer rides on the artistry and skill of the man in the trucks.
good to see the recognition of another fighter after hearns lost to hagler. this new generation needs to see that. game recognizing game. classic. both men at the end of the day.
My favorite. Never fought a 'bad' fight. Not one outing where you can say his performance was poor. Great as they were, can't say that about others like Leonard, Ali, Norton, Tyson, Duran, Jones, Holyfield, Lewis, De La Hoya, etc. Many more could be mentioned.
1 - "The Bridge is Over" - KRS1
2 - "Mental Stamina" - Jeru the Damaja
3 - "Buck Em Down Remix" - Blackmoon
Thanks :-)
Whoever edited this video did a killer job with the music. Buckshot is an underrated MC just like Hearns was a boxer. Noone ever ran through Tommy Hearns. Win or lose his opponents came out banged up!
Only man to ever stand up to hearns was hagler
Coldest boxing stare since Sonny Liston hands down
I'd have peed a little
Lol. I still remember that episode of Martin with Tommy Hearns, lol!
When that right hand lands his opponents soul leaves the body for a mere second and returns.
I love Tommy "The Hitman". Crazy power and speed.
My all-time favorite boxer, since I watched him stone Pipino Cuevas, when I was a kid. The right hand he starched Duran with, was probably the single best punch I've seen landed in a fight between 2 Hall of Famers. Hearns punches looked like he was hitting people with axe handles.

Tommy's stare really sends chills going down my spine. He was one scary man.
My favourite boxer of all -time
The best days of the sport, no ducking. The best fought the best
Wow. This highlight is still up :')
Even that stare had people freaked out about what was to come...........
class act right here , this guy is one of the greats
The way he uses those flicker jabs, truly something to admire
Im glad this video is still up after all these years. Hope all is well with you Mr. Iceveins
This guy is one of the all time greats, he should be in hall of fame
For those who wants to see top prime Tommy Hearns, watch his fight against Benitez. Masterpiece of boxing.

Thats a scary man folks
A great tribute to one of the greatest, to ever lace up the gloves.
That first round of the Hagler Hearn’s match is in my opinion the best 1st round in the history of boxing.
I think it’s in everyone’s opinion
i've seen this video so many times and i still love it!! truly one of the greatest ever. i feel at times thomas hearns sometimes doesn't get the recognition in people's all time lists. can't help but think what he would achieve if he was 25 years old. scary thoughts of people hitting the canvas hard!!

Man you aint lying! Ive never seen a fighter pop off 2 double left hooks so fast and so snapping like that. it was like a jackhammer. incredible.
Stays focus all the time and is incredible at speed, power and agility!
Congratulations Thomas. You gave us some of the most memorable fights in boxing history and inclusion into the Hall of Fame was a no-brainer. Well deserved.
This tribute is like....mindblowing!
Tommy Hearns left hook to the body was vicious.

DAMNNNNNN!!!!! He connects with this rights soooo cleanly! It's amazing! and that jab is just godly
I don't know if there is ever gonna be another Tommy Hearns. This guy had some amazing punching power. Even Tyson said in an interview that "Hit Man" was one of the hardest hitting guys he has ever seen.
Good Video!
he had some sick chopping rights... one of my favorite fighters of all time.
when he stares you down, it looks like he’s not even looking at you, he’s looking through you.
LEGEND
Hearns had it all. Power, body type, technique, speed, he could box or brawl and he had some real smarts when he was in the ring.
Todays fighter's should count their lucky stars that this guy aint around now
I have a great love for Tommy Hearns Fighting style, that right hand is the stuff of legends, its as if he was hitting his opponents with a gun! Much love for this edit! I watch it almost daily before training :)

Super fast.
Ridiculous reach.
Hit like a truck and the 'death stare'.
Great welterweight.
Great fighter.
Been revisiting a couple of Iceveins videos lately. Truly great editing on all videos!
Brilliant video, brilliant music - keep 'em comin' Iceveins!!
Lol. I still remember that episode of Martin with Tommy Hearns, lol!
He was one of the best punchers.
The best combo of music+highlights+the "ring personality" of the person in the highlight that I have ever seen.
If hearns hadn't broken his hand in the fight with hagler, it would have been a much more crazy war, and hearns would have probably won.
@Lobsang Tsetan
It's Hearns right hand. Of course he theoretically could've KO'd Hagler.
BUT Haglers hard head broke Tommy's right hand.
The immovable object beat the irresistible force on that night.
What a great fighter Hearns was.He will always be remembered for being in great fights and taking on all comers. Unlike a lot of our modern crop.
Love it! Still watching it
Pound for pound one of the hardest punchers and most exciting fighters of all time. How many bad or boring fights has this guy been involved in? Respect to the Original Hitman...........thanks for the memories Tommy.
lol the look on his face during staredowns say "you know I'm gonna woop you right"
Dope video, dope song selection, seriously off the chain!
You know the beats bro? Would appreciate it.
This was one of the first UA-cam videos I ever saw, way back in 2006 (this was re-uploaded in 2007). Still come back to it every now and again, love the action, love the music - almost perfect...

Him , Tyson & Manny are my all-time favs.
Great video and song! Hearns is my all time favorite boxer not sure why...he just had the magic
Great video. The hitman was one of my favorites. The Roberto Duran knockout with the lighting was nice!
His punch speed and power is remarkable if i ever got into a fight with him...i reckon he could give even Tyson trouble seriously

Tommy Hearns in one word - Animal.
Man that shot he laid on Duran while he was on the ropes!!! Thats power. Duran went from sober to 100 tequila shots drunk in a second.
great editing, great music, great fighters! keep up the good work ice!

I almost cried when hagler took out hearns.... Hearns is the MAN!
This is interesting. I got a reference from an anime called Hajime No Ippo regarding Hearns, this is very educational indeed! :}
good to see the recognition of another fighter after hearns lost to hagler. this new generation needs to see that. game recognizing game. classic. both men at the end of the day.
I just watched another video of Mike Tyson and he praised the knockout power of Tommy Hearns. Now thats a complement of the highest degree in my book.

Hearns was the one and only Hitman
This is the first boxing video where the music works just right with it
