Sugar Ray had hidden power, he had speed, and most of all he was deadly accurate with his punches! One of the most accurate punchers in boxing history!
Ray had it all! Speed, power, granite chin, ring IQ, and stone cold killer junk yard dawg. I would've loved to see him beat the brakes off Mayweather Jr. That boy would never make it through a fight with Ray!
we can't say that, since roberto duran beat him and raise of weight category, also he fought the greatest middleweight of all times even if he wasnt at his prime lol
A knockout post. Sugar ray Leonard for me was the most complete boxer I have ever seen. He had power speed skill stamina and a super boxing brain. He was like a SAS special forces thinking solider, he was the thinking fighter .
He is truly one of the greatest of all time. Incredible Speed, underrated power, ring generalship. A true champion in that he fought everyone and he had that persona and flash that added to his legend. I had the privilege of meeting one time. Much shorter than I thought but a true gentleman. He stayed at the appearance until every person got a picture or autographed
Sugar Ray ran from no one. He is truly one of the greatest of all time just as you said. Speed, underrated power, ring generalship and one thing you forgot: his chin. Sugar Ray could take a punch. Tommy Hearns was ahead on all three fight cards in their first fight but Sugar Ray took the punishment and in the later rounds Tommy ran out of gas and lost by TKO. That was one of the greatest fights of all time.
There will never be another like sugar ray leonard, i loved watching him growing up and seeing him box live ray had it all period !!!! Killer in the ring gentlemen out side the ring .
His speed was tremendous and electrifying and the coverage was thee climax of all of sport's Thank you Mr Howard Cosell and many other's dramatic comments and articulate descriptions. R I P 🙏

None of them would, this is what people don’t know about ray, if you didn’t grow up in the area he lived in ray actually would street fight, he liked fighting, he would KO people that would challenge him. Ray wasn’t a sucker, he was the real deal.
Ray def would’ve beatin Floyd in his prime! Floyd’s dad was undefeated when he fought Ray and Floyd’s dad taught him the “Philly Shell” style of fighting. Ray would’ve too fast and he had knockout power!
It's Amazing to me on how this today's new Era boxing fans try to suggest that they would like to see the Sugar man against today's," Floyd May-weather, Terence Crawford, Errol Spence, Keith Thurman", ...etc. They are the best in my opinion for their Era of Pro Boxing but certainly those before them would destroy them. Most boxer back then fought every 2 months or less meaning they stayed active. They had True KO power some in both hands. The level of boxing was much higher in every aspect along with having to be a 15 rounds Pro Boxer, with super heart.
Very underestimated in the boxing talk nowadays ' Ray was a genius combination puncher and was with Hit hearns Duran And Hagler the Ali of his weight '
Purists may not agree but for me the G.O.A.T ☺️ I’ve been a lover of the sweet science for 45 years and IMO this guy was top of the pile! 😉 There will never be another 😘
Ray was one of the best boxers ever! In his prime no one could touch him. IQ is right up there with ALi's. He always did what he had to do to win. Found a way when up against prime greats--Benitez, Duran, Hearns, Haglar...
In all fairness...he had a short prime because of his eye injury. .and drugs...was never the same after that. But as his prime...could beat any welter in history...he's even money with rayrob in my book
My favorite fighter of my generation , they thought he was just media hype, an Olympic pretty boy! No he was a skilled, vicious assassin , with a lion heart!
Sugar Ray had hidden power, he had speed, and most of all he was deadly accurate with his punches! One of the most accurate punchers in boxing history!
Also had incredible stamina and endurance along with a determination to win.
His power was underrated, especially as a welterweight , that was sort of his secret weapon.
Ray had it all! Speed, power, granite chin, ring IQ, and stone cold killer junk yard dawg. I would've loved to see him beat the brakes off Mayweather Jr. That boy would never make it through a fight with Ray!
And he could slip a punch better than Ali.
He was my favorite all time boxer of all time with tremendous speed and accuracy with his hands that was unbelievable
Back in the day when there were plenty of excellent fights on free network TV, Ray Leonard's bouts were special.
Illusive power. He hit you from every angle. Power in both hands, and if you pay attention you see he was a great body puncher.
Especially after the Duran fight, he learned a lot and became a better fighter overall
Brutal body puncher
He had under rated power imo. He had super fast and sneaky punches that would catch you off guard; similar to Ali. Incredible.
Sugar Ray Leonard would also confused and tired out his opponents... especially with the rematch with Duran

My favorite boxer all time. He was cut up like Bruce Lee and ultra quick and accurate with his combos.
Era of the 4 greats.
Humanity will never seen another time like that in boxing.
Sugar Ray, Hagler, Hearns and Duran.
In his prime, he was arguably the greatest fighter, pound for pound, in the history of boxing.
i agree amazing heart unbearable speed and power
we can't say that, since roberto duran beat him and raise of weight category, also he fought the greatest middleweight of all times even if he wasnt at his prime lol
Totalmente de acuerdo!
Perfect fighter for me he had everything speed ,power ,tough as old boots ,charisma
The knockout of dave boy green was brutal
SRL.
Top 10 pound 4 pound boxer of all time.
The world would appreciate his legendary contributions more when he his gone.

He didn't fight Aaron Pryor, who publicly challenged Leonard. Leonard people didn't want no part of him
@@ThePasterio Just because Sugar didn't fight Pryor...it doesn't mean he dodged him. It's not like how Mayweather dodged Pacquiao for all those years.
@@thelawofdivineoneness458 Point is, Leonard was challenged by Pryor and didn't fight him. Errbody but Pryor. Fact

Beautiful fighter and boxer. He was technically skilled and some ways a complete fighter. It was a pleasure to watch him work.
Sugar Ray was before my time but now I’m interested in looking at it he is sharp! Whooooo!
Man, if Ray Leonard was fighting today, Spence would NEVER come out from under his bed, lol.
None of them would, this is what people don’t know about ray, if you didn’t grow up in the area he lived in ray actually would street fight, he liked fighting, he would KO people that would challenge him. Ray wasn’t a sucker, he was the real deal.
Leonard had every boxing skill mastered. He is the best P4P fighter in history at welterweight, before the retina tear.
Big Sugar Ray!👍🌹🤗
The most complete fighter of all time no doubt
Ray def would’ve beatin Floyd in his prime! Floyd’s dad was undefeated when he fought Ray and Floyd’s dad taught him the “Philly Shell” style of fighting. Ray would’ve too fast and he had knockout power!
OUT cold 🥶 True classics 👌
It's like watching a cat finishing its prey. Ray is one of the greatest boxers to ever live. A legend.
The most complete fighter of all times
Pounded Hearns post to post. Literally turned him into a punching bag😮. Sugar Ray was like a big cat in his strikes.
Great video and great music!!!!❤❤😊😊

That last KO was vicious, Leonard almost caught a body.
I couldn’t even see the first knockdown punch against Gonzalez. Incredible speed Ray had.

Pour moi hagler avait battu leonard
Ali didn't have a high IQ, he had heart and a great chin, if he had a high IQ, he would've gone to the body much, much more.
I use to watch Sugar Ray practice at the #10 boys and Girls club in NW Washington DC as a Kid slim hands been on point.#ima80sbaby

An utterly weight drained lalonde fighting at half a stone less to give SRL a huge advantage you mean ?
Grande entre los grandes sugar leonar
Lo tenía todo enorme boxeador !! 😃
Back ground them was on point,, ..
Extraordinario
Greatest of all time.
And the heart and chin of a champion.

A small weapon of mass destruction, amazing man, such skill, speed, power and confidence. Respect to this tremendous man.
Back when boxing wasn't a joke.
Refs back then was bad too. A lot of these guys shouldn’t have been allowed to continue and should have been stopped earlier than they did
Nice music, but inappropriate here. I wanted to hear Howard Cossell.
Ray was a killer!
Sugar Ray Leonard has the fastest jab knockouts especially the Winfred benitez fight...when Sugar Ray Leonard jab knocked out Benitez
Ray was one of the greatest
Fights were so much more active back then
Pin point punches! So fast! Boxer to the bone! Gotta be top 2 all time!
Leonard Legend❤🤩👑
In my opinion the greatest boxer of all time!! He had the speed of a cat!!
Pound for pound the best fighter ever!
Top 2 de la historia del boxeo
So many of his opponents were good at blocking his punches with their faces.
I love that beat
Ya no hay boxeadores ni peleas asi😢😢😢
Any fighter that can make Duran quit and Tyson cry is automatically the goat
Turn the music off !
Dam I thought Davey Greens head was going to fly off
speed power precision dude had it all. needs o be talked about in the same breath as ali and tyson
Don’t think he beat Marvin, but arguably the most complete box/fighter there’s ever been
Such a shame that we never got to see he and Arron Pryor square off. Sugar would've been too fast for Aaron I think.
sugar the best my hometown man ,,,
What a tremendous athlete. ❤
Leonard had faster reflexes than a damn mongoose. His punches were so fast that his opponents could not even see them. Amazing!
