Hi Bradley, I’m thinking Ozone 10 is number 1 & your master is no 2, I like em both tho , no 2 just sounds a bit smoother to me, but at age 55 and years of live playing my ears struggle a little bit. I’ve recently picked up Ozone 10, I must say it’s way better than v 9 . Cheers Mark.
I like 1 better. 2 is a bit harsh for my ears. But I am historically sensitive to Highs and high/mids. I see that it is the Ozone V. I guess I'll go give them all my money..😄
I trialled Ozone 10 but my old computer just couldn’t handle it. Even with buffering up to max it still coughed and spluttered so I couldn’t really see its capabilities. I have Ozone 9 elements which it runs ok so I will stick with that at the moment. I’m using on my master bus a blue cat gain plugin to drop output to -18 then a Drawmer S73 master compressor compressing 2-3 db then ozone elements 9. That combination seems to work ok for me.
To my ears the second one was better. The first one had a nice warmth but was over compressed. You could hear the vocal and the snare clearly… but not much else. The second had a little fizz at the top that I didn’t care for, but was much more articulate and detailed. You could hear the hi-hat work on the drums which got absolutely buried on the first one.
