little Reaper tip: if you alt/option click the dry/wet knob at the top right of the plugin window, it puts any plugin into delta mode. Sweet video Jon. Thanks
Yes its a good idea when you're tweaking or A/B-ing to use the Gain Match button. However, when tweaking the maximizer for LUFS in your DAW you have to turn it off because it will keep the output the same as the input. I forget this every time and wonder why the LUFS isn't moving. lol.
You always make so much sense man, good job again here bud! I have an analog chain that I like to bounce my stuff through but when there's a lot, it's just not practical to do it all in real time. I'm trying to add all that "analog' flavour that I like, at the recording stage so it's all "colored" enough from the start and I can focus on a faster easier workflow down the road. Cheers!
Great explanation. I still have a question. I am confused because many people are saying that the low end should be mono, but, if i use master assistant with a reference track for example, almost alwyas it brings up the first two bands in imager. Does that mean that the reference tracks doesn't have the low end in mono? Or is this something that the master assistant doesn't interpret very well?
I think you just cost me some money, I have 9 but this looks like a good step up. I have a video request as you master your own production music (some companies master everything for you) I'd love to know how you master your tracks and the stems. What level you master the main tracks to (dbs peak and LUFS etc) Is it the same as streaming? And also the stems: If you're mastering the main track then individual stems would be effected differently going through the same set up in ozone. Do you just send the stems unmastered? Cheers Jon
I aim for +4 on the K-12 scale inside the FabFilter Pro-L. I'm not exactly sure how that translates to LUFs but i think it's somewhere near -10 or -11. We do not master the stems. The thought there is that if clients are using stems, they plan on manipulating the audio quite heavily.
Thanks for walking through the new features. Def going to upgrade. Ozone is a good balance of "cheating" and showing you how to achieve that "something's off, but I can't put my finger on it". I say cheating, jokingly, by the way.
I agree. I don't feel like it's doing all the work, even though sometimes i let it! The new features are excellent. Especially love auditioning the Delta.
Yeah actually hearing what is being changed is cool. I've always liked that Ozone teaches you to fish along the way. "Here's what I did, and here's how I got there"
You’ve got a natural flair for explaining stuff clearly. Great video on Oz10.
Thanks, Morris! Glad it was helpful.

Thanks for this John, useful, simple insights as always

Really great Jon - always learn something watching these vids! Thanks!
Glad you like them, Declan!
Ooh, I'm still on Ozone 8. It looks so cool. I might get on 10 now. Cheers Jon.
Great video, Jon!

Do you onow hpw much would it cost to upgrade from ozone standard 10 to advanced 10?
Could not find the information anywhere.
I’ve used RX8 for a while, the denoise feature has helped me to isolate dialogue audio when in a noisy room
I used it on this video because of that silly Godox fan!
So do you still need a compressor or just need Impact?
Do you put this on each track or the master track
What level is your pre-mastered track? -14 -18?
How would you change the levels through out the song? Is using automation the only way or does Ozone have a way to do this??
Ozone 🙌🏾

I think it is much improved
Ho ware you?!Yo-well masterpiece-see u around~ =))
Not having a STAND ALONE version PISSES ME OFF! This is this ONLY way I use Ozone... Will NOT be upgrading AGAIN
