@@robertkubrick3738 Well, Trump is likely to get elected so the economy will bounce back. However, even if the economy bounces back that doesn't mean people will buy vehicles. Everyone has too much debt and republicans aren't big on debt and overborrowing of money. So interest rates will likely stay the same or go up. Until they stop making cars at ridiculous price points and trying to re-sell used cars at new car prices the problem wont be fixed.

The Fed has been criminally negligent in not getting inflation under control more quickly and making it so the banks will have to lower interest rates. Ford made another bad decision, like they often have in the past, to focus on shifting all their vehicles including the F150 over to electric. This was about 15 years ago when Obama was president right at the beginning of the Green New Scam. So instead of focusing on good quality ICE engines and vehicles they put their money into EV tech. We see now how that worked out for them. The Chinese will buy Ford for pennies on the dollar. Their ICE trucks are all they have left.

@@johnjdumas She could not find a fast charger to refuel with because the infrastructure wasn't there for it. Same as if you were in parts of Africa today where you had to refuel using liter containers with limited supply.
Most people will only need to charge once a week or so and that they can do that at home. When infrastructure is built out it may be at work on a slow charger in the parking lot. They may go years never having to stop to refuel. That's a lot of time saved.
But, my comment was comparing ICE car infrastructure at the turn of the century when they were wasn't much there yet to support them. Gas was often dirty and hand-pumped. I remember even in the 60's where remote stations with the older single walled tanks would often have water in the gas. This would end up leaving you stranded a few miles out even though you just filled up.
Battery recharge speeds are getting faster. A 6C battery can be recharged in 10 minutes. 4C and 5C batteries are common. Power density is getting to be so good now that same physical size battery can get 700 to a 1000 miles of range on a single charge. Probably see those in 2025 in US cars.

I decided I had had enough I put in a concrete mailbox post, but people still kept going around and cutting the corner across my lawn, so I had an old anchor and some heavy chain which I tied around the electric pole that was at the corner as well and laid it out so that anybody coming across would run over the anchor. The anchor would probably grab a hold of the rear axle it worked, I had a guy race across my front lawn. It was a car that hung pretty low to the ground. Most salesman try to steer them into leasing on so the customer won't get stuck owning an out of warranty vehicle that nobody wants to buy unless it's dirt cheap. Toyota has sold wiite s few since the dealership is fully capable of performing all repairs plus has plenty of replacement parts. One Prius owner told me that their service department has special pricing for EV and Hybrid repairs so they can afford to drive those until slap worn out due to being extremely difficult to sell used.

Aviation form a gasket is the best gasket maker. U can buy it at Napa only, it’s for airplanes. They only use form a gasket and it’s gotta be good enough to hold at high altitudes. It may over kill but it’s the best thing for water pump gaskets and any other gasket for that matter. It can even be used in place of a head gasket but only on some vehicles.

i put a 1/4" thick steel insert inside my standard U.S. post office approved white rural mailbox because people would bat the mailboxes off their posts...they didnt bat mine off the post ever again they had to run the post over with their car to knock it off...they left car parts all over my yard and the street and then launched catty/katty/kitty corner across the intersection and took out a brand new stainless steel communication box on the corner...i just wish i could have caught it all on video...

The EVs won't go away in countrys where the government makes it near impossible to buy and run an ICE vehicle. Where drivers have a choice, ICE cars are what they choose nearly always although EVs work for short range commuting if you can charge at home, not waste time at public charging stations.

Most of our towns are too low density for EVs and current battery tech. Maybe inside Manhattan. We just need smaller cars with efficient engines. Why can’t they just lean on and market that all hip? Marketing is evil. It’s not just for sales, it’s for actual harm to society.

EVs are unsalvageable. Unless there's only damage to the exterior body panels, or a loose bumber, perhaps an impact from the side, etc.. In any other case, nobody will take on the job to repair it and sell it on... It's basically only good to recycle the battery-packs from... Hardly 'green'.

Regarding the last story of the fence. I father was a police officer and got a call from my guy one day. The guy said every Friday night or Thursday night. I put out the garbage and somebody just smashes into it. This was back in the 80s on people have those big huge Oldsmobiles boat type cars so my dad said well I didn’t tell you this, but you could put some cinderblocks and bricks in the garbage can so the guy did it and one night just like clockwork a big car came and smashed in the garbage can 6070 feet away from where the garbage can was with his lights for his car and everything else The people who are smashed in the garbage never came and asked for compensation to fix his car because he knew he was in the wrong. What the hell is the world coming to?
