Scotty can you make a video "Best first cars to buy". I live in Europe. I'm looking for 90's 2000's car. What sould i get? I'm looking for reliable car that can last a long time. Car's with manual transmissions. Is Golf 4, Audi a4 or a6 good cars? I live in the area where there is salt on roads in winters. Do Civics, 94 Celica rust?
BMW, though, is run by a family that owns a controlling interest, which bought the company in the 50s, after escaping the Nuremberg war crimes trials because the old man slipped through the cracks. The family fortune was made building the batteries for the U-boats in WW II, using slave labor. If you buy a BMW, you're supporting a family descended from a war criminal, whose war-crime fortune was how they came to control the company.
@@JayDee-b5u i drove the Giulia with diesel engine and it's really damn slow... The interiors are very cheap as well and the central computer comes from the 90'
I have had my 2013 Fiat Panda for three years and it has had no problems. It may not be the strongest car or the safest but it is comfy and beautiful with no blind spots and does what I ask of it.
An Italian chap said to me once, that a car is like a woman, the more beautiful and fun it or she is, the more they will break your heart and your wallet... But you'll always come back for more... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@MonkeyDLuffy-sv2pt IDK maybe it was started from Italy and migrated to here. I don’t really know any famous USA food beside hotdog if that invented here i not even sure.
Yep, I bought a 1999 BMW E36 and the first thing I did was upgrade all the cooling system components with plastic parts to aftermarket stainless steel and aluminum parts. I have had zero trouble. I even swapped out my fading plastic headlights with glass headlights with the angel eys halo rings for safety. Older BMWs are very dependable as long as you maintain them and know what parts should be proactively upgraded.
@@MGVK2277 don´t agree and own 7 BMW´s, maybe the worst of all . Cheap, badly built car, a money pit and own a 96 318TDS and for 6 monthes owned a 320d from 2005 or around it
i myself have a poorman car colection or italian cars and german ,theres a point in their age that people get sick of them and sell it very cheap, some even bought them when a teenager but all are still with me, "take it" ,"i ofer it to you" ,"i need a cassette deck" "no money , no problem i know you´ll take care of him" some of the things i listened
My experience with BMW has been fantastic. Had an E46 for a couple years with over 200k miles and it had no mechanical issues at all. Ive had an F32 for nearly 4 years now and it had been amazing. I put about 100k miles on it since I bought it, its stage 2, and i beat the ever loving piss out of it and it has been 100% reliable.
My e46 323 wagon just crossed 200,000 miles, and I can't say I've had the same experience. It's a gorgeous car, but man does it have some issues. I drive it extremely conservatively as well, I probably cross 2000rpm once a month, but the thing just keeps finding new parts for me to order. The car really feels like it was built with maintenance being an after thought when I look at the way some of these parts were designed. Hopefully they're not all like that, because there are a lot of things that I love about it.
@@willhelterbrand3785 they are great cars , close to perfection their goal was to meet the same quality as the Mercedes-benz wich till today they never did, the governament in Germany made both brands have in all cars a limit of 250 km/h (1 mile = 1.6 km´s) this because between late 70´s and early 80´s both brands had cars that drove above 300 km/h and many people were dying at the time in car crashes , but one can take the limiter at home it´s very easy, but i ,in a car ,the BMW745i(V8) was driving close to 300 km/h and i had a splt second of awareness and reduced to 200Km/h ,it´s death on wheels one can die for many factors not relatred with the car quality, i also have a 82 red 318i van and for a lot of years i never saw other than mine ,this in the last 30 years and allthought it´s a van it´s a incredible car, never as problems only water, gasoline and oil are their problem much better than more recent models from BMW, i will never sell it, 1st they wouldn´t pay me the money of it´s value ,2nd maybe the only van on the rodas from it´s year or model, i drive a lot in Europe and i never saw other ,only one from the next model in France maybe in 96 when driving to England to meet my sister and brother who live there, regards(keep it ,it´s very rare)
As a German i have to say he is so right about all the electronics and ripping off the customers. And you can‘t go wrong with older Volvos. They are heavy duty machines and i personally love the „box“ design to be honest 😀
Yes it’s the same with done American companies now making cheap garbage vehicles. Toyota’s are probably the most reliable. I still see old American cars, trucks and Volvo cars on the road haha. I fear for the future… Toyota’s are super reliable here and retain their value. This is coming from a Chevy driver too.
@Misterlaxx d I think the m3s are amazing cars dude if you can afford all the maintenance it might need I’d go for it but that’s the only bmw I care for
I’ve got a 2012 volvo s60 r-design polestar edition with 90k miles on it (bought it at 60) and I absolutely love it, never had a single problem with it
I went with a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti and had it for 30,000 miles over a few years. I loved every minute of that car. Only problem I had was tires. Just sold it since I bought a house and needed cheaper payments.
I have a 2017 Romeo Giulia and despite and I love that car, I may get rid of it cos’ it’s true what Scotty says, you cant drive 5000 miles without getting something damaged
Waas looking for one today in DK, but seems like the motor blows up afhter 120k... scared me off with the amount of cars that got changed the entire motor here...
I will say that I do love Volvos. Simple but classy, safe, sporty, good handling, efficient on fuel, and relatively issue-less. Drove my 2010 v50 up to over 205,000 miles, and ran well as my 28mpg daily driver before my wife’s friend totaled it in a head on collision. She walked away without a scratch!
maybe not , if the government and automakers do the whole give us your old cars that don't meet emissions so we can crush them and we'll give you $6000 dollars off , like they did in the 90s , there wont be a lot of older cars left. Was a sad time and a bunch of nice old cars were crushed.
this is such invaluable knowledge this man has about the automotive industry. anybody that lives near this guy and has him for their mechanic is a very lucky person. theres not many mechanics out there that are gonna give you this unbiased and accurate information.
His information is NOT as accurate as you may think. He is stating opinion.....not fact. I own 2 M-B vehicles: 2011 GLK350 (purchased Aug/2010) & a 2017 AMG GLE43 (purchased Sept/2019) Excellent vehicles with superior quality and reliability when compared to the many domestic vehicles I have owned.
@@jiw71 nobody is saying those are bad vehicles. I own a 2001 audi s4 I love german cars also. but for the average person that doesnt have a lot of money to spend on maintenance its not a good car. hes talking about the average person. because as you know just simple issues can cost thousands with those cars. the average american living pay check to paycheck cannot physically afford those kinds of costs.
The P1800 is a beautiful car - when Roger Moore won the audition to star in The Saint the producers got him to drive his own car as it was so much cooler than any car they could supply.
I have owned three BMW 3 series all older models with 100k+ mileage. Scotty is 100% correct they turn into money pits if you try and abuse them and not maintain them. Wonderful cars the best driving experience I’ve ever had and I love them but in order for BMW to keep prices down they use plastic parts and the east coast winter just destroys them as the constant freezing then heating up of components really wears them out fast! Now that I’m an adult and have a good job I’ll buy a brand new or low mileage certified pre owned will never buy high mileage again lol
Old Volvos are like heirlooms. My aunt bought a decade-old Volvo for 3 grand. She has been driving it for 5 years now( we even drove it across Europe during 3 holidays in a row, thousands of kilometers per vacation ). Haven't had any problems with it. It's pretty fuel-efficient too, for an old car. 6.5l / 100km.
@@aronaamodt9522 before 2000, after that it's basically a Chinese car, it's still very good but I'd rather buy a Geely brand (the Chinese parent) which are available in my country Australia, same as Volvo but with less luxury and half the price.
Mine does 4 l / 100 km and can do 1300 km on a full tank easily on the motorway. If I lived in a flatter area I could probably get better fuel economy. Incredible engines, no complaints.
@@scottykilmer I will not argue because I am sure this makes sense in the US. But let me tell you, in Europe things are a little different... If I made a 7 brand list, Volvo wouldn't even make the list
@@joshharrison2657 i got a dacia with a standard transmition and tbh im happy. Cheap repairs. Cheap parts. Easy to work on. I got the mcv so alot of space too. Dacia logans are great cars. The only problem is acceleration. Mine only has 85 hp
charbel moussa that’s not bad, 75bhp 1.4tdi was a pretty good engine from VW. Dacia can’t have good engines though so I imagine it’s pretty dire in that regard
I drive a 1993 volvo 940 with the automatic, has 255,000 and runs like a dream. Bought it for $1700 and definitely haven't put more than $300 into it fixing it up (various leaks that happen when cars sit for extended periods of time) extremely reliable and fun car to drive, never fails to turn heads.
Same here 2008 Volkswagen passat cc never had any major problems but I think what has help me with owning a European car is im a Car enthusiasts so im very hands on and tech savvy so I know how to work on alot of stuff on my cars so I don't spend as much as others but my cc has been great no issues aside from my ac needing to be fixed but great reliable car almost 200,000 miles on it also had a Acura that I worked on my self but Volkswagen has been great.
@@rafaelcid8510you probably just don’t know how to work on em, skill issue. Probably a JDM weeb, and you probably smell quite bad. We have my dad’s mk.1 scirroco from high school and it still runs great, my brother has a ‘92 VR6 Corrado runs fantastic, I have a Mk. V GTI with a few parts from ECS Tuning and APR, it’s fast enough and runs perfectly fine. We’ve owned Hondas, Toyotas and Subarus… all have had problems and with help from our friends that are factory mechanics (from those brands), they admit that just bc they sell a lot doesn’t mean they are the best quality. Not to mention Japanese cars are UGLY, and not nearly as pleasurable to drive as a European car, apart from Fiat, and Mini.
Yes, they are trademark gestures his audience has come to love, just like Johnny Carson's arching his back, stuffing his hands in his pockets and looking sharply from side to side, esepecially when a joke bombed. It became the basis of Tommy Smothers' hilarious imitation of him.
I have been trying in vain to remember Rod Stewart’s name for the past 3 weeks now. I wanted to hear one song from him and I haven’t been able to look him up until now 😅
Three years ago I bought a BMW 525tds from the fifth owner, and I'm still driving it. I made 90000 km with it and it goes perfectly to this day. Then I bought Mercedes S211 from the eighth owner. Despite the fact that the actual mileage remains shrouded in mystery it's almost perfect. German cars need a little care, but if you are willing to take a screwdriver in your hand and do some maintenance every now and then, you'll be fine.
7:25 Sorry but how is the modern Mini an "overweight heavy car"? They're literally some of the lightest cars on the road. The newest JCW has 300 horsepower and weighs 2600 pounds. A new Honda Civic Type R weighs 2930lbs. Hyundai Veloster N is 3100lbs. Golf R is 3400lbs. Mini literally make the lightest hatchbacks
I moved from UK to Canada and was surprised by the perception of European cars in North America. The North American market only has tiny selection of the European product line, the most reliable products being the manual diesels are nowhere to be seen. I also think the higher cost of repairs on a more expensive car compared to cheap parts on cheap American cars is a hard pill to swallow for most.
For real man! My dad has a 93 Volvo 940 Wagon. SOHC 4 Cylinder non turbo. Slow as balls as you mentioned but it'll keep going forever and ever. Hell it has over 300k miles and that's probably a break in period for them 😂😂. I gotta say the automatic transmissions in those are pretty stout. Yeah they're slow but they're durable. I didn't even know that those old Volvos had Aisin Auto Transmissions in them and honestly, it shifts real good despite its age. If I am ever going to buy a emergency or daily driver, it'll have to be one of those old Bricks.
Slow?? The only one I had my hands on (company car) was like a 1985-87 or so with a turbo 2.2L4 I think. And she was plug ugly. And had some minor rattles and all that. But once I learned how to get the turbo pressure up at a stop light? man, that car was NOT *slow* 😂
I have had a BMW here in Thailand for more than 4 years! I have driven all over the country in this car! Excellent! No regrets at all, regularly serviced and cared for !
Henry Ford: "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants, so long as it is black." Uncle Scotty: "You can buy any car you like, so long as it's Toyota!"
The Model T Ford came in more colours than some today - green, red, blue, maroon, brown, grey and black. Ford never sold any car model just in black other than hearses.
I love your bluntness. Your knowledge of cars is impressive. Your advice has helped me I bought my daughter a used Lexus LS250. Wonderful car. Thank You.
@dao_2_prosperity None of the manufacturers are building quality cars nowadays since they spend less than 2 years developing them...I had a w208 and it was a tank...I have a 2017 Sportage now with only 30 000 km on it and the turbo actuator valve broke. Most recently, I get check exhaust...I hear a lot of people around me having issues with other brands...
@dao_2_prosperity No, it's not on purpose. It's because of market competition and top management pushing to have new generation cars every 4-5 years...I will buy an old Merc. They run fine. Actually, pretty much any German car built before 2005 runs fine.
It’s amazing how everyone says the German cars are junk, and expensive to maintain. They have obviously never owned a newer corvette. My last 2 corvettes had less then 10,000 miles and they were broke all the time. My 2010 c6 sat on the hoist at the dealership for 6 months waiting for parts , the plastic line that went between the 2 gas tanks was Dry rotted, it cost $2200 because you couldn’t buy just the tube , you had to buy the tanks , without the level sensor. So expect to spend more to maintain a sports car , no matter where they are made
LC500 will be your money-saver sports car. Only the tail light seals sometimes fail, let in moisture, and cost over a grand to fix. Other than that, the LC500 is reliable.
Great information. My wife has a 2010 Audi A5 that she used to have serviced at the dealer here in Florida. We noticed that the engine was leaking a lot of oil and took it to my mechanic. He found that the oil drain plug was stripped. The dealer tried to convince her that they don't drain the oil, but they suck it out from the top. They problem is, on her past invoices they charged her for a VW drain plug. Never trust a dealer.
I’ve owned a Volvo S60T and it was outstanding. Had a Volkswagen Passat SEL Tubo Diesel - horrible electronics, was part of the settlement and drove for 3 years and received a $30k check from the dealership - the car got over 43 mpg. Now I only drive BMW’s, older 2011 328i convertible with an inline 6 is sweet and reliable and a 2014 535GT with the same reliable turbo engine as a number of other Beamers. That’s what people don’t realize, is MOST BMW’S just use a handful of engines, in an array of bodies. Swap out the horrible Run Flat Tires and you have an awesome driving machine!
I have a 2013 BMW 328i. So far have been reliable and no engine or transmission issues. I really like how it drives on highway, way more than my Toyota SUV. I think these simple steps help with the reliability: turn off auto start stop since new and did 1 to 2 oil changes per year.
Volvo! My 2007 S60 has almost 270k miles and it runs like a champ. The new Volvos we can buy in the US are either made in North Carolina or Sweden. Also, Scotty is absolutely right about Aisin. If you can't beat em, join em!
Or Belgium and the s90 is made in China. The Chinese-made one may be the best made one of all tbh. The next-gen Volvos (they're rumored to be called "Embla") are going to be made in South Carolina. Polestar 3 as well.
6:55 look at the subtitles ''Look what happened to the beatles, they're gone now because they were made like crap'' even with the cut at the end. I bursted into laughter in that moment
Love your videos, Scotty. I have owned a Toyota 4Runner, Ford Escort and Focus, VW Jetta, and a 2006 BMW 330i. I ran all of the vehicles, predominately highway mileage, at least 150,000 miles incurring the expected maintenance costs without regret. My current car is the BMW; currently at 200,900 miles and running strong. Very strict about maintenance schedules and detailing the interior/exterior: cheaper to maintain than fix. The sunroof headliner just started to sag, but other than that, no squeaks, rattles, dash/upholstery cracks, or other mishaps. Daily driver still getting ~ 22 mpg city and 31+ hwy. It is a 6M, so I have avoided the common AT issues! Love driving the car, but I do realize my experience is not the typical experience. Doubt I could buy a new BMW with a 200,000+ life expectancy...
I bet Scotty would be a great rock star. He got the look and voice that sounds like a good rock singer. Every time I hear him, cannot stop hearing "High way to hell" in my head. :)
As Donny Donster had requested, I'm also excited to see a Worst to Best review of all well known car brands in the world. My guess is that Toyota and Honda would still come out as 1st and 2nd, but I don't have a clue for the rest. Thanks in advance.
We already know the ranking : 1st Toyota 2nd Honda 3rd Ford Last Fiat-Chrysler In-between : Endless money pits Jaguar Land Rover : So crap, it's not even mentioned.
That is no surprise, scotty is a gem. however, have you driven the new ALTIMA, it is smooth and very very good mileage. Quite. i hop they have worked out the CVT trans issues
I lived in San Diego in the mid 70's. My roommate had a Pepto Bismol pink Fiat convertible (which she named Phoebe). We drove all over the place, top down, and had a blast. One day when my roommate was driving, the brakes completely quit and she ran into the side of a house. Luckily no one was hurt, but Phoebe was totaled. Not sure if Fiats were any better mechanically then, but we were young and carefree Navy gals and Phoebe was a great ride along the beaches of southern Ca.

My parents bought a new Golf MKII in 1985 and LOVED it. In fact, aside from a gas engine that proved more finicky than Morris The Cat (it rarely complained once they started feeding it Mobil "Super Plus," granted), they had very little trouble with the car. Alas, a cab driver ran a "STOP" sign and totaled the poor thing in 1990. After that, they went back to buying second-hand American cars.
How about the spare parts problem. VW specifically doesn't stock enough. X-wife got a new Taos. Small accident broke right headlight. Car was undrivable for 6 months while she waited for VW to make more headlights. Probably karma but I had a minor accident with my 21 Jetta. I've been waiting now for 4 12/2 months for a new front impact bar. In the meantime they have plenty of parts to keep building new Taos and Jetta cars. I used to be a fan of the make but not any more!
Bought an 04 Volvo XC70 with 120k miles on it 7 years ago and haven't had a single issue with it. Such an amazingly built car. Super reliable and fun to drive. Best quality!

Nicolas Mikah can trust some dealers with used cars over in New Zealand however you still have to be careful which cars you buy and which dealers you buy from. Our law in Nz gives you 3 months if anything goes wrong. But it is smart to get the car checked before purchasing. The other we problem in a small country is finding someone with competence to have a look over the vehicle as most vehicles coming into the country are purchased over the internet from japan. This does not give you much confidence in the vehicles as computer screens etc don’t show every fault or real condition of the car. Always take a car diagnostic tool and check for yourself before handing over the cash
As an owner of a 2017 Volvo S90, I can attest that it is a stellar car. Few to no problems, and it is a joy to drive. Not to mention that my wife & I get lots of comments from people about what a great looking car it is. One of the best cars we have ever owned.
Good. Current Volvos are really great if you get a good one. And I don't think the Geely ownership has done anything negative to Volvo. I actually like the new ones better than the older ones and I've had older ones. The only thing I don't like as much is less visibility and I liked the older 5 and 6 cylinder engines but EVs will make that a nonfactor.
sOME CARS ARE SO EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR, THAT THE SELLER SHOULKD HAVE TO PAY TO GET OF THat SPIN THE WHEEL, tODAY IS $6500 . whew i AM GLAD THE SELLER PAID ME A GRAND!@!
Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Accura and may be, just may be Porsche(For the performance it offers and the better reliability than every other sports cars). Everything else is either money pits or just doesn't last long enough.
Had a three series for a month and I was always working about something expensive going. The engine light would always come on and I'd get the code reader on it and fix the sensor or the abs rings or whatever. I can get in the Lexus now and It doesn't even cross my mind that it would go into limp mode or break. This car is 20 years older but so much more relaxing!
@@anbsgarage901 who said I couldn’t afford it. Being able to afford it and having an opinion are two different things. When I was a kid, we had an early-80s W123 Mercedes 230 E. It was such a classy car with a really smooth ride and it was quite a headturner on the road. Best part about it was it was built like a tank - a motorcycle once crashed onto the rear right side coming from the right and the rear right panel just got scratched and barely dented. It would rarely need to be serviced even after 10 years. Now my sister bought a brand new Mercedes E-class in 2022 that came with all the techy gizmos and such and she had to get it serviced after 9,000 kms because of a faulty climate control system (it was leaking freon from one of the pipes, lol).
bought both my volvos for 800 for my 2001 and 600 for my 1998. Best cars I've ever had, after I did timing/pcv/cam seals etc. Well worth the money for a 250 hp engine and standard transmission.
So many good and powerful used euro cars are out here, E63 amg for instance W212 are going for a great deal under 100k miles but if you’re not mechanically inclined stay away!! If you’re needing to go to mechanics for every little thing stay away, especially if you want to keep it for the long run. They drive so damn good and have tons of power, but if you can’t handle the maintenance and don’t know what to do, or what you’re looking for, then you’re better off getting a new one.
I love how he shows a Citroen C4 Picasso as a tiny car, while here in Europe its already considered a bit bigger car people use to drive their family around.
Yeah, but you have to consider cattle size seats instead of normal human size. The average american is 10kg over the average european already quite obese general population.
@@cheikhhmayadi6870 nope, they don't sell Renault in the US, and he is only talking about European cars sold in the US. It would beat volvo, without question 😀
Here in Europe is different, even though FIAT also has a bad reputation here they are some of the most numerous old models i see on the streets, and for sure the Mercs BMW's and FIAT'S are much better built on this side :)
@Kristof Alexy That´s is simply not true, i owned a 99 peugeot 406 1.8 115 cv for 10 years, those things are built like tanks, got 120k miles out of it without changing the timing belt and only 2 oil changes ahahah
They are not in the ranking at all. Peugeot is fine but Renault should just give up. They were always unreliable. My European friends always had issues with them and they were expensive to repair.
A good BMW to buy is an E46 3 series. My uncle got his new and put over 200,000 miles on it and hasn’t had problems too serious. His is the 330ci convertible and I personally have a 325ci convertible with 77,000 miles on it. Now the convertible top sucks however the engine and transmission is solid and it hasn’t been too hard to work on, just make sure you keep up with the maintenance and it’s a great toy that I’ve daily driven!

BMW, though, is run by a family that owns a controlling interest, which bought the company in the 50s, after escaping the Nuremberg war crimes trials because the old man slipped through the cracks. The family fortune was made building the batteries for the U-boats in WW II, using slave labor.
The fiat diesel 1,9 is a great motor. Used in fiat Alfa Romeo can easily reach 400000km without problems. Not everything they make is rubbish.
there is bearly a diesel market in the USA. They prefer big bore petrol cars.
Fiat Panda II & III is a very reliable car as well

Former Mechanix here , Fiat México it's just crap, Bad weldings , two years running and already leakibg oil, SO sad and Bad
I think I'm going to stick with Toyota/Honda
And Mazda
Good for you

4. Volkswagon
5. Mini
6. Alpha Romeo
7. Fiat

Would place VW higher and Merc lower, but it doesn’t change that Scotty still hates the superior european cars
What about Audi
Can’t spell
Volvo really? 25 years ago not now !!!!!!!!
You mean South Carolina? Only the XC90 and S60 are built there. The last invoices I saw for Volvo's they were all made in China.
IN ANOTHER VIDEO Scotty rated ALL european brands as dead last…. not even as good as GM (second to last)
.
Or Belgium and the s90 is made in China. The Chinese-made one may be the best made one of all tbh. The next-gen Volvos (they're rumored to be called "Embla") are going to be made in South Carolina. Polestar 3 as well.
i still have my grandmother 62 volvo working perfectelly, and better than some new cars i´ve tested
I just got a 07 s40 2.4i manual with 160k hoping it lasts for awhile
I found this man a year ago and I'm still mad it took me til then.. this man is a national treasure long may he live...

Scotty, when are you gonna combine American, Europeon, Japanese, and Korean Car Brands from Worst to Best?
He has that list already but left euro cars off because they'd be in last place anyway
I’ll save you a lot of time. Just go buy a lightly used Toyota 😂
As Donny Donster had requested, I'm also excited to see a Worst to Best review of all well known car brands in the world. My guess is that Toyota and Honda would still come out as 1st and 2nd, but I don't have a clue for the rest. Thanks in advance.
@@GuerreroDelInfo think you will find American is the worst with Japanese and European being the best

1st Toyota
2nd Honda
3rd Ford
Last Fiat-Chrysler

That is no surprise, scotty is a gem. however, have you driven the new ALTIMA, it is smooth and very very good mileage. Quite. i hop they have worked out the CVT trans issues

I lived in San Diego in the mid 70's. My roommate had a Pepto Bismol pink Fiat convertible (which she named Phoebe). We drove all over the place, top down, and had a blast. One day when my roommate was driving, the brakes completely quit and she ran into the side of a house. Luckily no one was hurt, but Phoebe was totaled. Not sure if Fiats were any better mechanically then, but we were young and carefree Navy gals and Phoebe was a great ride along the beaches of southern Ca.

i loved the end of this, I had a volvo p1800 when I was 19 years old, I had previously bought a 3.8 e-type jag but I couldnt get insurance for it so I got the volvo, I was told by a metal expert that their engines was among the best in the world, I actually made 500 pounds profit after using it for years.
i got a 10 year old used P1800 in 1970 in Hk . My lousy parking grinded its rear wheel panel on a lamp post.

After that, they went back to buying second-hand American cars.
thats what smart people do
Enrico Three VW Passats (94, 97, 00) then 2 Mazda's (2004 made in USA) and now 17 Honda Civic. What did you get?
In Europe the Fiats with the simpler non VVT engines are some of the most reliable cars around.
Ah my request has been fulfilled! Thanks Scotty!

“Can’t trust anybody with a used car” shows picture of the pope.
Can't trust any of all these fancy robed types with anything, not just with a used car.
As an owner of a 2017 Volvo S90, I can attest that it is a stellar car. Few to no problems, and it is a joy to drive. Not to mention that my wife & I get lots of comments from people about what a great looking car it is. One of the best cars we have ever owned.
No you don't it's a Volvo.
Drove one for ten year.
Hope you feel the same after your warranty runs out and you start fixing major problems out of pocket
The new S90's look absolutely stunning, a neckbreaker for sure. I might opt for one if my 22-year-old V70 tdi ever gave up.
He is so right about Mercedes the maintenance almost killed me. I’m a happy happy Lexus owner now
sOME CARS ARE SO EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR, THAT THE SELLER SHOULKD HAVE TO PAY TO GET OF THat
SPIN THE WHEEL, tODAY IS $6500 . whew i AM GLAD THE SELLER PAID ME A GRAND!@!
Then why you buy a mercedes if you can't afford lol
@@anbsgarage901 who said I couldn’t afford it. Being able to afford it and having an opinion are two different things. You’re the one that probably can’t afford it because if you could you understand the mentality of those that can. Nor would you have time to make comments such as you did. Sad for you. I will not answer you again so don’t bother to respond
I love my 2009 Audi Q5, totally awesome all around. I'm a tall guy and this whole car fits me like a glove.
@Hello Jim how are you doing?
112,000$ new
10 years later: 3800$. Why do people buy new cars i seriously Don't understand
Usually people buy new cars because of their warranties. People still end up losing a lot but they like the peace of mind that comes with warranty.
@@legoatjames2740 thats true
I agree. It's crazy. I have always believed in buying used cars for like 1/4 of the price. It's so much more worth it
latest technology and safety features and features in general. some ppl are crazy for that stuff...
I love this man's analysis, he is a pro 👏
I love how he shows a Citroen C4 Picasso as a tiny car, while here in Europe its already considered a bit bigger car people use to drive their family around.
Yeah, but you have to consider cattle size seats instead of normal human size. The average american is 10kg over the average european already quite obese general population.
How about Renault? Why he didn't mention it, Is it worst than Fiat?
@@cheikhhmayadi6870 nope, they don't sell Renault in the US, and he is only talking about European cars sold in the US. It would beat volvo, without question 😀
@@jpwignand6915 I was wondering why he didn't mention Seat and Škoda

As a French man I'm glad Renault and Peugeot are not at the end of a reliability ranking for one time!!!
You can't lose if you don't play 😎
They would be if they did......they're crap.
@Kristof Alexy You got it the other way around. Owned the two brands, you cannot be worse than Renault.
Agree, but the most expensive car you can buy is cheap BMW....
