I purchased one and I love it, it's just a bit thicker so it still fits in my GBA pouch. The clicky shoulder buttons are definitely a drawback, but over time they have become less clicky. Right out the box they were functional for me. I ran the numbers and it was cheaper than getting a GBA player setup with a memory card to bypass the player disc. I end up using my Intec with my laptop with the help from the Genki ShadowCast, I call it my phat DS. With the popularity of Baldur's Gate 3 I found Dark Alliance on the GBA check it out it's awesome!
I was literally looking for 2 weeks for an alternative to the Gameboy Player. I wanted something that can play my flashcart and save on that flashcart. And something with AV out as I have no need to output to HD tvs. This is really the only option so thank you for the video!
I love all these options for GB amd GBA games now. I have a gameboy player and Analogue pocket and dock, but all these options are awesome as the two options I mentioned are subject to high prices now and scarcity.

No doubt when Gameboy came out eveybody wanted then Gameboy Color after that Gameboy Advance im sure there was probably some others but Nintendo was way MORE popular NOW WE ALL have MODS😊
The lack of 3:2 output is a complete non-starter for me. I can't believe they didn't just add black bars to the 16:9 output mode so that it looks correct. I'm intrigued by that mod you mentioned to keep a display and add a dock with SNES input and HDMI output, I think that's very cool.
i want to see that gba dock, ive been eyeing it for months and once it got on rgrs ive been waiting for someone to review it

I'm too obsessed with proper aspect ratio and integer scaling to even remotely consider this as a viable option tbh, especially when the free options out there don't have such compromises. I even find the stock GB Player cheaper and less compromised than this in many ways. I mean for 100 bucks this has no right to be so compromised.
Could you shave down the plastic part of the L/R buttons on the circuit board?
You might be able to sand it but when I flush cut it, it was obliterated. It’s also hollow so you can’t shave it down too much
@@JakeSimmons could you carefully fill it with glue from a syringe?
@@willosfloppydrive I wouldn’t try that because it might ruin the whole button
@@JakeSimmons yeah that's true. Maybe you could find new buttons but otherwise you can't really change it

The not able to be handheld anymore turns me away from this i wanna be able to play on big screen and in handheld mode when i want, sure i can have 2 devices (which i have) but i wanna be able to do it on the spot. I bring my Console to work. Plug it in to a tv/monitor and play big screen or sit on a chair in an office and play handheld.
Too many cons n not enough pros with basically every consolizer for me. Im just gonna settle with getting a iphone to tv adapter cable n play on the delta emulator
