I live in NYC and anyone watching this video who is going should absolutely check out Wonderville, an awesome indie arcade bar. Unlike other bar arcades, this doesn’t have classic games you’ve played before. It’s entirely new independent games with really cool gimmicks and mechanics and it’s such a fun time. It’s like if real arcade games were still being made in 2024, truly a great time.

Rather the 2024 model (already announced the ROG Ally X) than a true next gen model.
Bigger battery, redesigned to also not have the SD reader that can melt your SD cards (yup), and also with faster/higher bandwidth memory but no change in the CPU/GPU. More bandwidth is good tho, I'd guesstimate it could bring up to 10% more perf!

I just got back from a trip to Alaska and ended up only bringing my Switch and VITURE glasses. Weird for me because I thought I might bring my newish RP35xx+, Steam Deck or Pimax Portal, but when I sat down to think about the types of games that I wanted to play along with the portability of the device for some reason the size and capabilities of the switch (plus the game backlog) came out on top. And the XR glasses were an incredible match with the switch. I totally recommend them to anyone who is interested and either travels a lot or has a lot of gaming time without a TV available.

that guy's a jerk, but even the scent of rancid nuts isn't going to kill someone with the allergy.
It may not be fair. It's definitely a 🤬 hassle. When it is a matter of life or death, the more you can mitigate the risks through your own actions, rather than trust in others you don't have any control over, the better.
Technically, the hobby box or even a self filled ziploc will have way less nut scent, than if he opened a factory package, like the airlines used to distribute, that the force to open could launch particles. Even the factory nut jar has more nut scent.
The bigger risk is if traces get on his or his family's hands and then plane isn't cleaned properly. The next passenger unknowingly gets the unseen, unfelt nuts on their hands then touches and ingests the nut traces after that. The airline is who gets sued when they're the ones that didn't clean the plane properly between passengers.
Someone that worried about a deadly allergy is going to do their best to be on a plane's first flight, when is just been cleaned, no passengers. They don't just trust the airline, they will clean the space before they touch anything, possibly multiple times. Also, bring their own food to avoid any contaminents in the provided food. Also, make a point not to touch the food with their own hands (if not definitely clean) , (allergens aren't the only thing you don't want to be ingesting from high human traffic or traveling) , but clean utensils, maybe fresh food safe gloves.
Also, carry an epi pen. I'm still p*ssed at the doctors that screw people out of epi pens.
Additionally, definitely don't buy the no refundable, transferable tickets.
The odds are pretty low that someone in the next flight was rushed to ER or died.
If he and his kids handle the nuts responsibly, then there shouldn't have been any risk.
Having been in a lot of transit, there's worse things. I was thankful I didn't have to wear additional ppe, like a rare other passenger.

I want a John wick style movie where Russ has to escape the Nintendo ninjas in New York. It can open with them deleting his Ninten-dogs save file.

Russ, you definitely went in some good weather. Whatever New York gets for weather, it’s almost a guarantee we’ll get the same weather in NS about a day later. And yeah, it’s been great here for about 2 weeks now. Sounds like a good trip

Sounds like a thoroughly pleasant trip you had. Have you ever heard of a film critic who happens to live around the areas you visited known as Cole Smithey? He's apparently rather eccentric, but mildly funny

Wow Hop, decent choice, very old school for sure. Wu's Wonton King is a fave for us. Please tell me you hit the Chinatown Ice Cream factory. Very unique flavors and I can't help but hitnit every time I go. Mei Lai Wah, is across the street and the baked roast pork buns are to die for. Tonchin is a great choice for ramen in NYC but there are so many really great ramen places in NYC, it can often be hard to decide. I live in the Westchester burbs and head in to eat all the time.

I don't want to be rude or anything like that, but though "shake shack" isn't something my European mind would typically recognize, that specific location is where a naked lady was posing for some sort of performance art thing last I was there with my wife in the summer of '23. Or to be more precise at the right side of the bottom of that high line staircase.

I'm still bummed I didn't see a show in The West End, in London. I have seen shows on Broadway. Do stage door, too. If they're big Hollywood names, don't expect the usual chill stage door experience (in fact if they're too big - like Hugh Jackman & Daniel Craig at peak - , you'll not even get a proper stage door experience, cuz there will be crowds of people who didn't see the show and they'll be pretty far away beelining from door to get away car). It can still be interesting experience, while you stand around processing the show you just saw. Stage door, you can extend the experience of a great show, get a very friendly memorable experience and add to your playbill souvenir.
I love Wicked, still mad about it, 20 years already, whoa! The various actors in the stage productions are phenomenal, in and out of Wicked. It's different from the book, if you've only read the book, but it's good background, since the musical is fast to keep up with. I'm not sure about Arianna Grande as Galinda, but I'm even looking cautiously forward to the two part movie.
I saw the library, it is such a great break from the city and lovely to chill in. So was this super zen place I had a meal and tea. I still recall what it looked felt like, but can't recall the name. I apparently don't see my New York stuff recorded in locations or reviews, sigh. The places in New York where it feels like you went through a portal into an awesome space are such a treat and total vibe changers.
In NY, you gotta get some pizza. Don't stop at just any old cheap side walk slice , though. Look up a proper place to really enjoy one of the best slices or pies. Even mid to upper will be good though.
If you got a place with a microwave and mini fridge (or just enough mouths) , definitely pick up or get one delivered. Just any old cheap slice isn't giving yourself the best of NYC pizza. That pizza saved me from starving running between stuff or from being tired and going to sleep without dinner.
I'm totally guilty myself of not getting much outta Manhattan, but there's a lot more to New York than Manhattan.
The biggest thing that really surprised me going to New York was how friendly and helpful people were. There was such a stereotype, but it was so welcoming. I know stereotypes are stupid, but somehow I feel prey to that one. Which after the fact, I was like, duh, that many people can't coexist in that density, if they were actually hostile. One of the friendliest cities I've been to, in the world.
I am glad I experienced NY long before covid, increasing vacancy and current issues.

You ACTUALLY labeled the Empire State Building? Whatever Google is telling you about your demos, I am sure it doesn't imply you need to label very well-known landmarks.
