Putting a cheap old boat back into functional shape to serve as a reliable battle wagon is a project that I can definitely relate to! Glad to here that you are on the mend and have a positive attitude. Thanks for the video!!!
Humble new beginnings and I love it. You're a fisherman's fisherman. I'm stoked for what lies ahead and it inspires me to get out there and keep fishing no matter what gets thrown my way.
I love this guy, I get soooo sick of all those big dollar " Stripeking & Boogie Squad " fishing tubers , bragging about their sponsors and the " Mondo" fish they catch with the company baits, It's really good to see a real poor man fisherman doing what all real world Bass Hunters do without $ 75,000 dollars boats and gear from the big box baits store, good job Bro & good luck !!!!
Good stuff man. I really hope you can financially keep this going, because the past two videos have been genuine and fun to watch. You definitely connect with the art of putting these together. I get the idea of cutting your sponsors, but I can imagine it’s scary. Keep on keeping on. I’ll hit your patreon up to keep this going. I’m a new dad who loves to fish in the Stuart area as well, so you’ve inspired me a lot over the years. Keep it up buddy.
I understand this completely, love that you are happy with it. I took my grandpas 60 year old Jon boat registered it, decked it and put a motor on it and I absolutely love it! looking forward to more updates! I really like the direction you are taking the channel!
Had the same problem on my job boat with the seats. Unscrew the bases from the boat and turn the whole assembly upside time. Spray penetrating lubricant and let sit. Repeat numerous times. Grab a small strong bar and a large persuasion tool and beat the heck out of it. Worked for me
Glad that the major stuff seems to be in working order! Cant wait to see the boat in action shortly!!! Hope your family are all feeling well now, and God Bless all!!!😉👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Lawson, you've done a great job but a little piece of advice for next time. Scratch the carpet and buy non skid paint, it's much easier to apply and, doesn't get all nasty over time from the sea life. I figured this out doing one of the bass boats I've had to re do the carpet on in the past. I've been watching you since almost the beginning, I rarely ever comment online, i also think you did good with your channel choices, thanks! 💪🤠
Everyone has to start somewhere. I redid my 85 starcraft SS 16ft open bow. Made a family friendly fishing boat. Perfect for us. Spend the time to make your next one nice and you will appreciate it every time you fish!
The first thing I said when you posted a video on this boat was... "talk to Matt!" 😂 Glad to see you did so. If he doesn't know how, he knows someone that does! Nice to see progress on this boat.
The best improvement I made on my $1,200 bass boat, 1983 Performance Thruster, Johnson V90, was putting in a tray for the trolling motor pedal. My knees thank me every time i go out. Check those seat pedestals to see if they are the threaded style. But yes, the non threaded can rust up enough that it'll take some taps with a hammer to get them out.
There's something to be said about looking rough and outfishing the pretty boys and their toys. Fishing and catching is what it's about, not looking like you walked out of Cabelas.
Humble at its finest, great job Lawson hopefully if you're ever traveling my state we can collaborate. I will be heading down to Cape San Blas this fall for some fishing
Nice Job Lawson ,Prayers to you and the family for a speedy recovery...Your son is Beautiful enjoy every minute....I had a front pedestal seat on my Boat that wouldn't budge so I cut it off ,sooo glad I did now my front deck has room to roam ,,,DO IT....LOL See you on the river Buddy..
Lmao that 1990s blockbuster video training video style transition of "Lawson does a crappy job" just made me laugh so fucking hard for some reason I don't know why
I love youtubers that are just good people and enjoy being nice and just fishin! Lovvvvve the vids Lawson, keep it up!!!You should come to NY to fish Long island sometime for Big Striper and blues in the spring or fall.LOve to guide you, been fishing these waters my whole life.Great video Lawson!
On the chair posts, Install a chair base on them and use two bottle jacks across from each other and slowly jack them up until they pop free. I have a tracker poontoon boat and that is the only way to get them out.
Awesome rig, Definitely just neets a good wash, maybe some leather conditioner and trim conditioner, maybe polish the paint if you feel like it even. Looking forward to seeing fish caught in it
Great stuff mate. Should've got the guy from "ThatBoatGuy" channel to help you out! Ha ha ha ha. Love what you said about the boat not making the fisherman! Totally agree! Keep up the good work and great attitude my dawg!
Looks sweet man can't wait to see you fish out of it! 3m makes gelcoat polish (you can fine it on amazon) that works on aluminum and does wonders for getting rid of oxidation. I would get the heavy one in the series and the wax. It's doesn't taken much effort to polish it and they make the finish look new it's so worth it! I swear by it
No lie bro I'd be more than stoked to have a boat like that!! And if you bought it for 2500$ for real than you stole it, can't touch em around Okeechobee for less than 5000$ lol, good on you brother.
I’m so happy you’re sponsor free! A lot of these guys are jerks, therefore I refuse to purchase from anyone other than private independent mom n pops bait shops. Also prayers for you and your sweet family!
So excited to see a notification from you brother. Boats looking great so far! If your going to get a trolling motor I would order is asap cause mine took 5 months to arrive cause everything is back ordered
I ripped out the carpet of my aluma weld and just gray bed lined the whole inside turned out pretty nice recommend a least a minor service of a water pump and some plugs good luck!
Invest in an oscillating multi-tool for when you want to strip out the rest of that carpet. I'm on the West Coast but if you need a hand when it comes to upgrading/rewiring the electrical system, give me a shout I'd be happy to help. I just finished rewiring my Dolphin SuperSkiff. Bumped into you a few years back on the Sebastian River
Maybe get it running and sell it, move on to something more salt water oriented like a south dade skiff or even reach out to Harry Spear to build you a skiff, that would be an awesome series.
Like how would this 17-18 foot boat be less salt water prepared then a little 14 foot bay skiff.. id just run it.. no harm done a boat is a boat.. itll get the job done and u have more room/storage..
Glad to hear you’re moving in a positive direction, the boat looks good for your limited skills self. Not a dig or insult but some of us have made a living redoing things such as this for a long time. You didn’t back off and did your best, so kudos to you. Battle Wagon, appropriate. One things you must do is replace the impeller so that it’s gonna pump water dependably. Parts are under $50 and you tube will teach you how. About an hour and a half for the first timer. Press on brother, I’ve missed your videos . Make sure she’s solid before you go so we don’t call you “One Way”.
Lawson bro… i love everything about your channel… but you have to do the prep on stuff like this lol you have to remove all your compartments, sand everything down to the aluminum (so much glue and carpet shards left) and try to do everything with whole pieces of carpet. Maybe it was the rona lol I’d have helped you with all that. It’s not all that hard just have to put in the time. Sorry just keeping it 💯 glad you and your family are ok though.
You saw how much time and money it would take to fully restore that thing. I have restored several old Bass Trackers over the last 40 years. You are better off buying a boat that needs nothing. It’s not cost effective anymore. The last one I restored 3 years ago cost $5,200. Plus’s about 150 hours of my time.
The stock market has been a really tough one this past months , but I watched an interview on CNBC where the anchor kept mentioning " ... JANE FRASER ... " . This prompted me to get in touch with her , and from October 2020 till now we have been working together , and I can now boast of $ 740k in my trading portfolio .
It is performance provided you do something different from the majority . However most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.
The "Snook" boat you mean? 😎
I just have to say hallelujah praise GOD for saving and changing me turn to the LORD and have all!!! GOD bless and your work doesn’t go unnoticed!!!

Love this motor. Great power & torque. Very quiet. Doesn't faze my Optima battery. Minimal assembly. Gets me around the lake and pond nicely.
Glad that the major stuff seems to be in working order! Cant wait to see the boat in action shortly!!! Hope your family are all feeling well now, and God Bless all!!!😉👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been waiting so patiently for a new lawson episode!!

Great edit Lawson! Glad to hear you are feeling better and excited to see you catch them up on this machine. It has a ton of character

sorry about the covids man.. Glad yall are feeling better!
Those craftsman shop vacs are beast I’ve sucked up at least 1000 gal of fiberglass/carbon dust and it’s still chugging strong
The first thing I said when you posted a video on this boat was... "talk to Matt!" 😂 Glad to see you did so. If he doesn't know how, he knows someone that does! Nice to see progress on this boat.
So stoked to see the finishing product on the boat, keep up the good work. Glad to to see you and your family is doing good also.
Glad the family is healthy! Good to see you happy. Can’t wait to see the Battle Wagon on the water!

Another BANGERRRRR!!!!!! I love how you called it a battle wagon. That boat is sweet
There's something to be said about looking rough and outfishing the pretty boys and their toys. Fishing and catching is what it's about, not looking like you walked out of Cabelas.
Ayeee new upload lets goo bro hypedd🎣🎣‼️
Great vid. Love the boat the way it is. Thank you for posting.
Love the clapped out look. As long as the outboard is dialed and the trolling motor is reliable as a back up, you’ll be fine.
Humble at its finest, great job Lawson hopefully if you're ever traveling my state we can collaborate. I will be heading down to Cape San Blas this fall for some fishing

You can never kill a mercury! I am so glad to see you doing great things! Remember.. once thing at a time!
The “jack tracker” 😎😎😎
Good to see you back Lawson
Glad you’re done with roner 🤙

Great restore
I have a tip to pull up carpet for a different build all you need is catfish skinners and it makes it easier
A boat has never caught a single fish....it's the Fisherman in it 👍
I just have to say hallelujah praise GOD for saving and changing me turn to the LORD and have all!!! GOD bless and your work doesn’t go unnoticed!!!

Hell yeah bro it's venom BTW I'm so glad you got this boat up and running we all miss you rippin lips on a boat bro
There ya go buddy! Great job.
🤙🤙 will be a good inshore boat. I helped my brother restore one just like it to a flats boat and it came out great
So excited to see a notification from you brother. Boats looking great so far! If your going to get a trolling motor I would order is asap cause mine took 5 months to arrive cause everything is back ordered
Nice battle wagon!!! The way you catch fish. You could throw a outboard on log and get a 40inch snook🤙✌️
I ripped out the carpet of my aluma weld and just gray bed lined the whole inside turned out pretty nice recommend a least a minor service of a water pump and some plugs good luck!
that carpet work 10/10
Invest in an oscillating multi-tool for when you want to strip out the rest of that carpet.

A little skeptical at first. Love what you are doing !
That’s factory trolling motor good upgrade is going to a 24 volt such as Minn Kota fortrex 80lb it’s 2x the power huge difference

Love the channel.. my beat up boat serves me well without worrying about scratches.. ect.. less to worry about lol
WHAT IS UP MAH DAWWWWGS. HE’S BACK
Hey bro-That’s going to be a sweet Snook Buggy soon. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Back to the basics...👍👍
I’d love to do this one day. Cheers Lindsey.

Great Video!
You could try some heat on those poles that might help release the bond
Thanks for this Motivation 💪🏿✅
Put some PB Blaster on those seat bolts. Let it sit overnight and it might work! If not time to get out the angle grinder😎
I love this!!!!! Keep grinding son!!!!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO
We need the micro skiff back
If you can't remove the corroded seat post from the base, can you remove the base? Many are secured to the deck with simple bolts and lock nuts.
How is it pumping water did you least check it while it was running??
Try a hand torch and pipe wrench for rusty and seized parts. Hot as possible.!
Heat got my old chair posts out. I used a small butane torch. Be careful as things can get hot quickly!
Get some chemical brothers plastic restore for the plastics. It worked great on my tracker.
My seat posts did the same and it took a pipe wrench unthreading it then shaking it and someone else pulling
Looking lean and mean dawwggg! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Legend
Older seat posts have like 3 threads that actually thread into the stationary post holder
you should collaborate with The Boat Guy and he has tons of experience you both could benefit from the video. He needs to learn more about fishing
If you ever have glue tape old stickers etc. And they are hard to get off like your carpet was try a heat gun it will help tremendously
I did not buy a $100,000 pathfinder, but I did buy an $16,000 pathfinder. Lol I love that old girl too!
Yes!!!
Is the boat pretty stable? How much do you weigh?
You saw how much time and money it would take to fully restore that thing. I have restored several old Bass Trackers over the last 40 years. You are better off buying a boat that needs nothing. It’s not cost effective anymore. The last one I restored 3 years ago cost $5,200. Plus’s about 150 hours of my time.
Can u make a vid explaining what happened to the old boat
What kind of boat is it? Specifically size...?
“I’m gonna play video games til I feel better.”
Words of wisdom.

@Timttop Maxwell Do you trade on your own ?
That's impressive . Are you giving her your money or the money stays in your trading account ? What's really the idea behind copying trades .
Are her service available outside of the US ? as her broker is registered in the US .
That thing has got some fish catching stank to it. Get err on the water:)
Shoot you can still use the rover though!
Florida Bass Tournaments ain't gonna know what hit em
Make some merch I would buy some hats and shirts to help support the channel!
do you still have merch of some sort, i remember the first merch and got a t shirt, would love to get more :D
I thought this was going to be a boat restoration video. But it turned out to just be a video talking about boat restoration
I have the same amount of money and I want a dang boat like that
