Welcome to another aluminum boat build from #brigadeboats . In this video I will show from start to finish how I took a bare aluminum 1997 Basstracker Pro 17 and turned it into a fishing machine!
This video features footage of the full aluminum bass boat build from bare and stripped to built and mint. You'll find info on stripping and gutting boat, carpet prep, carpeting a bass boat, mounting aluminum lids, installing gas struts, batteries and battery trays, upgrading the livewell with recirculation pumps and variable livewell timer, new bilge pump, sealing wood decking properly, installing new deck and floor parts, painting steering consol, wiring boat and full electronics, Gator Skinz on bow and stern, and of course some tips and tricks along the way!
The video shows a majority of the work with voice overs explaining the process. I also show the tools and materials needed to make it happen.
I hope you enjoy the end result.
May your tiny boat builds be great.

Dude. You’re on another plane of craftsmanship and thoughtfulness with your designs and builds. Admired your work since your first boat and it inspired me to rip up a 1985 14ft Alumacraft I was gifted and convert it to a bass boat. Ain’t even in the stratosphere of your work but the effort and project helped me out of a bad little turn of life. There are people with a true understanding and dedication to a craft. People who just have an eye for such precision and quality that few others can see. Seriously man. A gift. I love seeing your process for no other reason than the joy in the making. Can’t wait to see where you take all this. Props.
Man, thanks so much for leaving that! Words can't describe how awesome it is to get feedback like that and know viewers are excited about what I'm doing, it helps fuel the fire! I'm energized that you enjoy and can either use as inspiration/ help with your own project or as entertainment. Thanks again man, I appreciate you 👊
There’s very few do it all well people. It’s even harder for those do it all well types to make a living building. I’m envious and very happy you found a way to do what you love everyday! Keep it up brotha.
Having redone a bass boat myself very recently I appreciate this so much. Everyone wants to do a rebuild boat but fail to realize the amount of work it takes great job man that was a ton of work!
Shortly before my dad passed away, I got his 1995 bass tracker, pro 17 that I actually grew up on fishing with him hundreds of times. By the time I got it it was ruined. It’s set up for many years either in the baking sun or under oak trees. Pretty much the only thing that was good was the actual boat itself. I wish I would’ve had the patience to film myself restoring it. I put more money into the boat than it would cost to buy it brand new, but it is worth way more than that to me. That is why I have been brought to this video. I am literally working on it now. just tweaking some stuff before the summer.
Skill, ability, and patience, you're the hero. I don't know what you charge, but it's not enough. I watch very very few videos from start to finish but once I got started, I couldn't stop watching this one. Years ago, I'd started a similar project, and all I got was frustrated and wound up giving the darn boat away. I'm not known as quitter, but I will tap out when I see it's hopeless, ha. Excellent Job!
Bro you killed this build. This is probably the nicest boat rebuild on UA-cam please keep these coming. Would love to know how much these cost to rebuild
Your work is amazing. That boat looks like it would be so much fun. That size seems just right. Big enough to be comfortable but small enough to move the trailer by hand.
In the process of remodeling my father in laws 1985 15' bass boat. I'm using your design and really appreciate your channel. Restored my 1999 joat boat last year.
Bro. I just bought an old bass tracker list from hurricane harvey. I would never thought it could come out anything near that nice. Awesome and on another level.
I have this exact model of boat but a year older and after the tear down the absolute daunting scale of the task was overwhelming. My friend, your videos have given me hope and confidence that i needed to keep trucking and realise this is not a weekend project and time and care is what was needed. Thanks bro, i love ur video's they're so helpful and 100% inspirational. You gave me the tools needed to get this project done.
I just purchased a 1990 bass tracker and your videos are going to be a tremendous help to me. Thank you.
the attention to detail here is amazing brother! i am a sucker for the little things... but this guy got a deal on this boat. the pride and attention that went into this was just awesome, from the pole light clips, to the strut mounts. you couldve just tossed the lights in there or just not used struts and that wouldve been fine, but you went that extra mile. awesome build brother.
Incredible man. Nice clean thoughtful work. Loved how you included your customers reaction.
Unbelievably impressive work. You definitely have a lot of patintience, I'm redoing my bass tracker 175 right now and your videos are very helpful and inspiring ,
Thanks so much man! Hope your project turns out the way you envisioned! Glad the videos are if service.
I am currently doing a rebuild of a 35 year old Fisher Marine Grey Thunder 16 foot bass boat, and I am incorporating ideas from this build, as well as the Alumacraft Bandit rebuild.
You have some awesome ideas and techniques that make a rebuild look a heckuva lot nicer and mo-betta!
Awesome work my man.
I have one in Alabama that needs restoring. Great job.
Thank you
You just saved me a truckload of time with the 1996 17' Tracker Pro Team I just bought (first ever boat). I had to troubleshoot a leaking hull and I found a leaking rivet (just repaired w/G Flex epoxy) but found a much larger leak in the through-hull port for the live well gravity drain. I thought I was going to have to remove the foam in the storage container that sits above the gravity drain hose to the port in the starboard side of the hull, and then cut through the bottom of the aluminum of the storage area to get at the gravity drain to through hull hose -- but I glimpsed the hole underneath the seat behind the steering wheel in your video. Tonight I just removed some rivets, pulled the seat and boom -- easy access to remove the 90-degree live well drain connection and hose to replace with all new parts and fix the leak. SUBSCRIBED
You are truly an artist. I have adopted a 1998 Bass Tracker Pro 17 and I can only dream of ever having a boat like you have created. Thanks for motivating me to keep working to get my "project" completed.
Brother you got some serious skills and attention to detail is a 10of10. A magician in your craft. Looks freaking great
Bro I love the attention to detail in your work. I’m afraid I can’t offer any suggestions or comments other than awesome work, a true credit to your craft.
Dude, i love it. Truly made my day. Thank you 👊
Awesome build and video. Your attention to minute details is way over the top. True craftsman that cares. I got a list a gazillion miles long now on mine now.
Thanks so much man..Positive feedback keeps me going
Great price and well built. Bought it for my twelve foot boat to get around the lake. Very powerful and easy to install.
First... WOW!!! Second... You did all that in just 150 hours!!! Amazing!!! You have your craft down to a science. Curious question: How much did all the parts and materials cost?
15k?
This is a skill, a skill with talent, but a skill nonetheless. He’s probably built dozens of boats before so he knows all the ins and outs and tips and tricks to make a boat from bare metal with ribs showing to a fully complete masterpiece that’s also cost efficient too.
@@capspik you’d be surprised the same carpet he uses in this video can be bought for around 13.46, I have a budget, you could do all of this for about 200 hundred dollars, given marine grade plywood prices right now. The 200 dollar budget is just 50 dollars more than the 150 dollar budget Im working with and I’m still clearing about 36.40 dollars after taxes. Not a lot but it could go a long way to pay for anything wrong with the engine that I would also have to fix since my motor is a little bit older model.
Id love to see this broken down into smaller yet longer segments. The boats always look amazing :)
That was awesome! The time and effort was a labor of love. Whatever he paid you you earned every penny!
I live in Georgia also, I'm a huge fan, love all your builds. I have a 93 tracker tx17 that I want to redo and this is the exact video I needed! Thank you.
Thanks man, Go Dawgs! Good luck on your project!
Bro you absolutely SLAYED THIS REBUILD!!!!
Thanks so much man, i love how dang clean it came out 👊
Wow! Nice work. I have an 18.5 ft 1994 Pro Tracker I would like to upgrade. Last summer, I did replace the fuse panel with a similiar one you installed on this boat. I am now inspired to do a complete make over of my boat. Your video showed me that it can be done. Next winters project maybe. 🤔
You are the best I have ever seen. Great work dude and thanks for sharing!
Great craftsmanship. You could tell you built this boat the way you would build it for yourself. Fine care and attention to detail. New subscriber.
Thanks man..I did. I take pride in the work and videos. Appreciate the sub
Very nice work. Attention to detail was incredible. I’m redoing a 87 16 ft Lowe angler pro. Learned a lot from this video thank you
Much appreciated, glad it helped
Wow! Fantastic work and attention to detail. Most people don't take that much pride in their work especially if its not for themselves. Very well done!
Dang, that was awesome. That is one lucky guy to end up with a boat like that.
Super nice job! Very impressed with your attention to detail in all areas. Keep up the great work! Craftsmanship seems almost forgotten these days. 👍👍
Your builds are incredible, only addition I would suggest is, paint the inside lids. You would never know it was not a new boat, till you see the aged aluminum on the bottom of the lid hatches.
My friend you done an amazing job. I’m sure the customer was very pleased great job pal.💪💯
Got to be the most beautiful 97 tracker on the water. Great work
I appreciate that! Thanks for checking it out!
Amazing job!
Bad ass resto! I'm OCD as it gets and that wiring job was 🤌👌! Beautiful work! And GO DAWGS!!
Nice work, I found you researching converting live well to recalculation , We just got done completely replacing, upgrading our 1990 Lund 16' Rebel Mr. Pike. You are using your skills perfectly. Keep up the good work.
Yo!!! Another extraordinary build bro!! Your attention to detail is unreal man. Good stuff!!
Thanks so much for the kind words man!!
I think the work youre doing in great. Videos are informative, easy to follow. Keep up the great work!!!
Really wish I had this skill set, have a 91 bass tracker pro 17 I picked up a few weeks ago. It’s in great condition but I’d like to clean up some wiring and I’m horrible at electrical lol
Dang dude, that is some nice work. I just bought my first boat, a 2006 G3 1756. I’m all about Camo so it just called my name. Carpet looks awesome but I love the low maintenance without it on my boat. However, it lacks storage and I really wish the console was moved ahead a bit to utilize a bench seat or 2 seats with console like you did with cup holders. May have to do a little renovation project when I find some time.
A lot of help! Going to be restoring my bass tracker 175 soon
You are a very talented person. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to future videos.
Thanks so much!! Ive got some cool projects coming up i think you will enjoy
Bruh, so many nice details to count! Homerun hit on this. Great work dude.
Much love man! Thank u
Great build, super clean looks great!
Nice job man! I’ve looked at those tackle tray storage bins online so nice to see it installed.
Thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah this one was a few hundred bucks i believe, again customer ordered. You'd think thats a lot but i was impressed with the quality. I guess you get what you pay for.
@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats yeah the price is way I never got one but looked worth the money.
The storage bins are way cool.
Absolutely stunning, cuzzin! This is why I love watching your videos...it's always top-notch work, and I learn new things every time. Keep it up!
I did a restore in this exact boat before. They’re awesome little bass boats. Only thing I would’ve done differently is add a bigger livewell and maybe move those two side hatches back. I fished a tournament out of the one we built and it was relatively small for 5 fish
Just found your channel. Your craftsmanship is fantastic! Beautiful finished project.
Thanks so much man, glad you found it! Appreciate it.
That’s a fresh unit. Great work
Bro I love rite down the street . If you never want to go to Lanier during the week I usually go 2!days a week and your invited .
Very nice work !!!!
Excellent thought process on making & using things to get them to work properly.
I work for a boat manufacturer. I can not say who other than - it is not the maker of the boat u are working on.
Very nice work -
Brilliant!!!
Outstanding work done on this boat, had me glued from beginning to end. Subscribed
Awesome, thank you!
@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats gonna redo the deck in my boat and add a steering console. Learned a lot watching your videos bro, thanks
Hey Anthony you do great work. My nephew has a boat but it’s not a bass tracker it’s one his late grandfather gave him that they use to striper fish in Lake Murray it needs the wood and carpet replaced and he was trying to find someone who could do it. There is nobody around us that does. I’m gonna tell him about you. We live in upstate SC.
Just an outstanding job on that boat, better then new.
Thank you, i appreciate it!!
Sweet thats actually the boat i have , thanks for all the ideas
Great job and it looks very clean. Well done…
Looks awesome but must have cost fortune to do ! Great job!
I am amazed!! Well done!!!!
That wiring its usually better to just throw it all in the dump and build your own from scratch. Its honestly much less headache
How much did it cost to do all the work you did
Of I had to guess 15grand at a minimum
@@corysturgis6660way less than that
@@corysturgis6660hell no more like 2k-5k
Nice lookin rig buddy good job
Thanks 👍
That is straight gangster! Impressed
Очень хорошая работа!!! Молодец!
Very impressive a true craftsman.
Thank you very much
dude! This rig is sweet! I wanna buy an old tracker and redo one like this!
Thank you
You made that boat mo betta👈
Mo deadly Mo betta cuz
Nice work , one thing I would have added though was rubber grommets where you wired in the new deck lights. With vibration overtime the aluminum will cut in and short those wires
I use a countersink bit then dremel small grinding bit to round off the inside of holes. No sharp edges, pretty smooth. Grommets dry rot and crack out in a few years, I prefer rounding the inside of hole gently.
Wow!, turned out real clean... your a true craftsman... I might steal a couple ideas from ya when I really start re building mine😉...
Its all good man! Thanks
You are truly awesome at this. I have the exact same boat and so I’m taking a lot of pointers from you to do mine. Could you do a more in depth video on how exactly you do all your wiring? Thanks man
I honestly wish this video was out when I first had my tracker I gave up sold it unfortunately with no time to work on it so I just got myself a triton 18XS
Great job on the tracker
Beautiful work
Beautiful work!
Wish he was on the west coast, I’d love to get my old sea nymph upgraded
Wow good job building boat
Love your work .. Man u do excellent work .. Props to you man .. God given talent is only way I can explain the excellent work you do .. Keep it up .. Learning a few things on every build you do .. Great job !!
Great Job! Awesome Video!
That boat is nicer then most houses
Rednecks with Paychecks...how we do 👊
Best one yet
homerun cuzz.
thanks cuzzz
Been awhile cuz. Glad your still doing things right 👍
WHAT'S UP CUZZZ??!!! Thanks for dropping in man, hope you are well. Same old same old here man, still doing my thang
Wow 😮 what’s a great job and finish. I have a 1999 bass tracker v16. Very similar doesn’t seem as much changed during the 90’s on these boats. Don’t mean to pry or feel obligated what would you say the cost to do this yourself vs someone like you to do this job is ? Great work keep it up 👍
You do some fine work.
Amazing! I have a Pro Team 18 that I want to do this to! I have no idea where to begin with the Electrical yet but where there is a will there is a way. Excellent Video and craftsmanship thank you.
Nice job
would be interesting to know more on the cost of these boats renovations (labor material) stuff. I ask because this boat for example runs about 24K brand new I believe... I want to say a renovation is cheaper but.....??? is it in the long run??
I have looked at almost all your videos and you are amazing at your craft. I wish I could get that way. I have worked at a boat plant in the past. The place made McKee Craft boats and it was a good experience for me and I enjoyed it very much. Sorry I keep bothering you but I would like to know all I need to do to get my boat like this and how much time I will be looking at.
Thanks so much. I believe I had around 150 labor hours in this project. I replied to your previous comment, you can email me at brigadeboats@gmail.com
Everything exceeds any of my expectations with your builds. Only thing I was thinking, could you have run the transducer cable through the trolling motor shaft? To keep from the cable being loosely dangling. I thought if you had enough room to drill through the shaft at the bottom and top…. Look clean!!! But regardless, amazing work brother
Thanks..Possibly. I saw this trick on another channel and ut worked very well for him. I didn't want to spend too much time overthinking it. I do not know if your suggestion would work or not though. The main problem I always have with any tranducer is having to accommodate the end connector size and not wire diameter..Why holes are always SO much larger than the wire. So it would need to be a very large hole to accept the connector through and tgen feed wire, which then leaves a big hole for water to possibly get in without being able to seal properly. Just a headache in general with these things.
@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats I gotcha
I re-did a BassTracker Pro 17 a couple of years ago as an attempted flip. The boat turned out awesome, but wow! there no resale value in these old Bass Trackers. I coated all the floors in resin and did an above factory job and could barely get back the purchase price and cost of materials.
That sucks. That's why I don't flip boats. Guys that pay you to do a project are different from guys trying to buy one off you for the bottom dollar.
You do amazing work
That's beautiful work.
Thank you! Cheers!
love this guy, we need to send him so gloves though, every video my man is bleeding from a finger lol
🤣 I'm steady robbing the kids unicorn and little monster band aids!
AWESOME job!!!! well done. cant wait to do my build. tnx for sharing.
No problem, thanks for the positive feedback!
I would love to find a bass boat similar to this and completely redo it like this.
Great work... 😎💪
Greets from Germany ✌️
Nice. I would have elected to recess the tackle storage box back to where the lid would not stick into the walkway, in fear I would step on it coming off the casting deck.
Nice. There's only so much room to work with but good luck with your project. Thanks for watching
What a great job!
