Cool video, interesting take on Plague power! I would rank; -Malakai / Belegar -Tamurkhan -Gelt -Archaon / Belakor -Throt -Malekith -Gor Rok / Cylostra
11:41 constant ambushes, being able to fire on your summons and spawning units out of the ground is pretty cheesy tactics which is perfectly fine, its how the skaven play and how you play them too
Never seen one of your videos before however I did take into consideration your points. I Think that centering your position around a lords army reduction in unit cost or experience is alittle off the mark. Rather than ramble on I will just cut to the chase on what races I feel have the best heros. 1 st place without contest is Alarielle the radiant. Hand Maidens are in my opinion the most powerful heros in the game for their ability to bring 1 influence per turn, 1 control per hand maiden faction wide, 5% trade, and +2 diplomatic relations for all factions. The second place would go to the vampire counts for the abilitiy to have heros that have access to some of the best magic in the game as well as being great fights, flying, and incredible healing. Another thing that can be considered is the traits availble for the best faction. Both Highelfs and Vampire counts get access to some incredible traits such as Fecund, Resistant and Discipled and Dread respectively.
Appreciate the comment. I probably should have been more clear about this. I don't equate "best" with "most powerful". It's one factor, but there's more to what makes a great heroes campaign in my opinion. All very subjective, of course.
The problem with the word "best" is that it implies an evaluation of something, a ranking of something, which means we have to define a way to do that. What qualifies as goodness for the purpose of a "heroes campaign"? You can certainly spam vampires with VCounts but is it a good campaign to have hordes of nameless carbon copy vampire girls with no real identity? I may be. Or it may not be. Kind of depends on player preferences. I think, if the campaign is to be "good" for me, then either we're taking the absolute mickey and just doing hero spam for the heck of it, power to eleventy, smash it all, have a laugh. Or there has to be some sort of narrative element, which means we're creating a story, we're creating a theme, in order to have certain armies that do certain things in a certain way. I suppose this just plays into how I play. I don't really like that typical geometric progression where you just expand in all directions and everything dissolves into a mess as you try to survive everywhere. What I prefer is having a main army that does the heavy lifting and cuts through the heaviest resistance, and then I have lesser armies for cleaning up and doing maintenance. Does it matter if a lesser army is boring? No, because I'm probably just going to AR with it anyway. What I'm trying to say is that to me, a heroes based campaign doesn't have to mean 80 heroes all over the map, it merely means having the relatively few main armies be centered around a band of heroes (and maybe some support elements) rather than a particular army composition. So how about this for Dwarfs: You start with Masters of Inno, along with Felix, Gotrek, a pet engineer, a thane picked up because someone has to stand in for Snorri, and of course Ulrika. That's team 1. Eventually you confed Ungrim and build an army around him, Garagrim, some dragon slayers. Maybe a runepriest too, because why not? This is team 2. You might also confed Belagar and his band of ghosts, take them on a trip to K8P. They'd realistically bring a few living thanes, and there'd be a fair few ranger units as a support element. Certainly nothing fancy until they've taken K8P. That's team 3. Then there's Thorgrim. He's not really a hero spam guy, but if he goes grudge-hunting from his seat at KaK then he'd bring a mixed retinue. Still, he's a hammerers, ironbreakers, and irondrakes kind of lord. Slumming with regular dwarf warriors would seem undignified. And then there's Grombi, who I envision leading a band of 13 warriors (call it him and 9 grunts, 2 engineers, and a runepriest), along with some thunderbarges for moral support. Undivided Warriors of Chaos has a pretty good sales pitch for a heroes-oriented campaigns as well. Harold, Aekold, Karanak, and the Scribes. And just about whatever variety you want in exalted heroes and spellcasters. That's a lot of hero power. I'll be honest, doing an Archie & friends campaign is one of those things I've wanted to do without ever getting around to it. Just Archaeon, Harry, Old Ike, the nutty twins, and the pet dog. Maybe a few other strays picked up along the way. I'd Walk about and confed the other lords, but all they do is stay at home and keep things nice. You could end up with quite a swarm holding down the respective forts up north as Archie walks the world. Valkia and a legion of mad Norscans. Azazel and a legion of scantily clad Norscans. Kholek and his retinue of oversized mountain goats. And of course Siggy and his retinue of sexy trolls and gorgeous giants. And here's my pitch for the High Elves: Alarielle is on a mission to heal the world (or Ulthuan, at any rate) so she's gathered her 19 most fanatic maidens and together they'll restore it. CA has nerfed her to kingdom come at this point but she still gets handmaidens at tier 3. Of course she'll confed the other lords but they can't go out and conquer until they have the right armies. Tyrion would certainly want to have a full retinue of fellow nobles and pretty ladies, that's just the kind of Elf he is. Teclis would want as many loremasters as he can find, because one of them might know of a book he hasn't read yet. Imrik would not want anyone along that cannot fly because ground-pounding is for weaklings. Of course he'd need a single unit on the ground, and he'd probably tolerate a noble that could fly but nobly forgoes that to be the eyes on the ground.
Some really good ideas there. I appreciate the well thought-out comment. I'm agree, I far prefer thematic campaigns over pure min-maxing (just look at any of the Let's Plays on my channel), and the great thing about this game is it lets you play the way you want.
No lizardmen? Their heroes get jacked AF and it's one of the easiest faction to get full hero stacks with tier 2 skink chief production. Its not uncommon for lizardmen stacks to roll 6-10 heroes deep replacing their stacks large single entities with their mounted hero's better replacement.
Appreciate the comment. I thought about the lizards, and I probably should have been more clear about this. I don't equate "best" with "most powerful". It's one factor, but there's more to what makes a great heroes campaign in my opinion. All very subjective, of course.

@@GamingForImmersion I can agree to that.
Nice video !

winning a lightning strike battle also gives you xp as if you fought every army
Does it really? I did not know that, learn something new every day.
Dwarfs are pretty good because of the customization the forge offers

How do you get so close the campaign map with your camera on movement? I have 3000hrs in the trilogy and never see this 😅
Camera settings (upper left): Cinematic movement.
