Quick Wave Painting in Oils

- This is really a pretty simple wave painting but it took me quite a while to paint because I kept changing my mind about the color. At some point I completely lost interest in it because nothing was working, until I realized I had the top of the wave far too straight, once I added some curves it began to fall into place and I was able to finish it up. Oil on 15x30" deep edge canvas.

Thank you for posting how you created the seascape. You make it look easy but its also reassuring to know you too get doubts mid painting.
Even following reference photos I can get off-track at times, it's just a matter of standing back, taking a deep breath, and move forward🙂
Nearly turned this off because of the music! Good tutorial, nice job!
Yeah, not my favorite, but the free sound clips came with the video editor. Thanks' btw.
This was so helpful to watch. Could you give us an idea of the colors you use?
My standard palette is titanium white, cad yellow light, cad orange, alizarin crimson, and burnt umber. For my blue tones I alternate between ultramarine blue, indigo, and cobalt blue. Glad it helped you.
Thank you so much!!!
WOW! Gorgeous work!!!!
