      You`re welcome Seila :-))) The problem with your proposition is that I did that already on some older videos and they did exceptionally bad, people, at least the majoritay, just want to see how I apply the colour, they want to see a quick process not the in detail process of colour mixing. But I have this whole process on my Patreon where you can get for 5 dollars a month four new tutorials (basically the long version of the youtube videos), no time lapse at all and you also see the whole mixing process from start to finish.

    A fantastic job. I like to put a few layers of white undercoat on the canvass, in order to get a smoother finish for this kind of thing. The canvass can be a bit too rough sometimes for me, especially for blending, what do you think anyway? great work though.

    Wow! Just discovered your channel and such beautiful work!! I usually only use acrylic, but seeing that you use the water mixable oils over acrylic undercover…how long does it take for your paintings to dry/cure?

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much Tracey :-))) Yes, I use water mixable oils that I most of the time thin down with purified linseed oil. It can take up to a couple of days for the first layer to really dry completely. The "trick" is to have several paintings at the same time on the easels, so you can let them dry safely and still carry on painting ;-)))

      @@traceywojtal9045 Oils really do make the painting process MUCH easier...i tried both, acrylics and oils and I would never ever switch back to those acrylics that are basically the moment dry you put them on, so blending is not really working and on top of that they sometimes do not stay true to their wet appearance. Give the oils a try, you will LOVE!!! them :-)))
      On my patreon I basically offer the videos that I publish here on UA-cam in a full time real time version. No time lapse, you will see all the material that I filmed for this video. Hello, thanks for showing us this. This is a really interesting technique. Very efficient and effortless. I'm wondering something, when you dry brush on top of the dry layers underneath do you put down a really thin layer of clear linseed oil first? This might help the dry brushing blend more smoothly? Thanks again for sharing this.

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, I know about this method of "oiling out" the painting surface before applying the next layer. But I have not yet really used it for drybrushing. When you are not really careful about the amount of oil you put on you might end up having a surface that is really difficult to get some new colour on. Therefore I drybrush without this layer of oil and use a soft a little bit bigger brush to blend the applied colour even more. I think I have more control over applying the colour than with the oiling out first method. But both work fine when you have enough experience I guess. Need to try it one day :-)))

    • @RobertF-
      @RobertF- 2 роки тому +1

      @@brennerfineart Ok. I haven't really tried this method yet so I'm not sure. I think the difficult part might be to not use too much linseed oil. Maybe just a tiny amount on the fingertip and then rub it into the working area with the fingers before dry brushing on top. Too much oil would probably make it too slippery though. It might be tricky to use just enough, but not too much. Oil is interesting and tricky stuff, isn't it?
      Keep up the amazing work. Take care.

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  2 роки тому +1

      @@RobertF- I would use a flat brush, I tried it with the fingers but I get better results with a brush. And yes, the layer of oil needs to be very thin or the new layer of colour will not really connect with the painting. I LOVE oils, you need a bit more experience but the effects you can achieve are WAY better than with acrylics :-)))

    • @RobertF-
      @RobertF- 2 роки тому +1

    How much oil are you adding to your paint?

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  Рік тому

      Hi Evelyn, depends upon the level of thickness I want to achieve - when I want to cover the white of the canvas completely in the first layer of underpaint I use just a tiny bit for a better flow, when I do glazing I use a lot to thin down the colours so that they get more transparent.
