The other thing to mention is that Taylor Hawkins their usual drummer isn’t playing at all! He’s by his drums with his son just watching and listening. Nandi, at 11 years old, is driving this amazing band on her own. Both capable of doing it, but also trusted by the band to do it!

Have you seen Shane Hawkins play? He's a MONSTER! He smashes the drumkit just like his father did. Nandi is really skilled and quick and precise and everything. Shane has another style, he pours his whole being into the drums. It's a joy to see.

I cry every time i watch this. Dave Grohl is so nice and he lets fans come on stage and play all the time. He even fell off the stage during a performance, broke his leg, started to go the hospital, and then came back and did the rest of the show while a doctor held his leg in place and maybe put a cast on. it's been awhile since i watched it. And Nandi is incredibly talented. I absolutely love how you can see her passion and excitement come our while she is yelling while playing. And Nandi and Dave together is so great. I love them both!
Nandi is so special. She doesn't just have the precision, which is hard enough, but she has a tremendous amount of power as a tiny little thing. When my girl gets bigger can you imagine what she will be tearing up? Ability aside, my favorite thing about her is the look of sheer joy she has when she plays and performs. If it don't make you cry, you're either not human or a very sad human. can't wait to see what she will continue to bring to music. This little girl may be one of the factors that keeps rock alive. Also, Dave is a real stand up guy. Love him.
The drums are what drives Everlong, debatably their most iconic song, yet she has the power and flair to keep up and she never loses rhythm. All while 15-20,000 people are watching her, at age eleven, with a professional rock band, completely slaying it!! She's already well beyond her years and such a sweet kid. Her parents must be so proud because the entire world is proud of Nandi!!

I love Foo Fighters. I love a band who doesn’t take themselves too seriously all the time, a band who has a sense of humor. And yeah Dave Grohl rightfully owns the title of the nicest guy in rock.
You ought to check out the video of him falling off the stage and breaking his leg a few years ago on tour, in Sweden. Since it was near the beginning of the show, after he got it checked out he went back up on stage and performed the rest of the show sitting down. He was a real trooper for the fans who had come out to see them! He did an interview on a Swedish talk show about a year later, and the dr who sat and held his foot-while Dave sat in a chair to perform the rest of the show-was on there to reunite with Dave.
It’s also worth a good laugh to check out the videos of the Foo Fighters trolling the Westboro Baptist Church. This is a regular thing for them every time they’re in the area, since the church protests their shows in Kansas City. 😂

Dave has brought up a bunch of young kids from the CROWD to JAM with them. AMAZING! ✌️
The majority of them were guitar players. Only one drummer before her. And he was a grown man.
Yeah she's the first kid drummer they ever had on. And that is a whole different job compared to guitar. She literally had to drive the whole band. Keep timing, energy, and groove. It's the most important job in the whole band. She drove the entire band with out help. It's one thing to know how to drum, it's a whole different deal when you have to drive an entire life band with perfect timing. If you don't have the energy it won't translate. She killed it. I've seen many great kid drummers but she definitely stands out. She grins and smiles while doing it lol she really beats the hell out of the skins.

there is a really fun video where Nandi get's a Master Class from two master drummers, including the drummer from Red Hot Chili Peppers. She learns a lot from them and they are having a blast teaching her new skills. They treat her like a colleague not a kid.

Glad yall listened to our recommendation! Foo Fighters are a great alt rock group (David Grohl was the drummer for Nirvana) . He's also one of the nicest down to Earth guy in rock music too. Humorous and smart, too. He invited Nandi to the concert . She is very talented and will be big in music as she ages. My daughter, (who looks almost like her too) lol showed me Nandi on some videos awhile back online. Was blown away. I play guitar back in the days with this similar type music punk, alt rock, etc. So Ive seen talent over the years. On the drums at her age is amazing. Natural. Great vid!

They have many members now because the second guitarist Pat Smear(He was in Nirvana with Dave) left the band for awhile and was replaced by Franz Stahl, who was later kicked out of the band cause he just didn't fit in. They then replaced him with Chris Shiflett. Later on Pat rejoined the band so they have three guitarists with Dave. They also have a keyboard player as well.
She's incredibly talented.
