  • In this video I review this 2015 Camaro SS. This Camaro is a very clean and low mileage example of a proper 5th gen camaro ss. I love the LS3 engine that powers this car but I definitely do have some cons about this car that I talk about throughout this video

    This car is so much fun, I’ve had a 2014 base model I loved for three years and recently got a cherry red 2015 ss! Fyi the difference between the motors is a few internal changes. LS3 makes 426 to the crank and L99 makes 400 even. Also you redlined. Gotta get it perfect to get the precise no lag shifts. You’re also not in manual until you start using the paddle shifters. Once you do, you get the true “M” mode and to go back to sport mode just hold the upshift . Reason being for those who want the computer accurate shifting over paddles while in sport mode. Great review tho

      He shifted before the redline but the lag on these sucks. I have a 15 SS as well and I have the same problem. U gotta shift early everytime.

      If you say so. This guy didn’t know how to work the sport and manual modes and that’s an ancient feature in this car. Def don’t except him to know where the car hits it’s peak power on the rpm band.

      437hp with a tune and CAI.
      plus faster gear changes in manual mode.

    at D mode you can still use paddle shifters but if you max out the rpm it will do upshift for you + if you didn't accelerate for 8 or 10 seconds it will be back to Drive mode (they do this because when you are in drive usually you are daily driving from point A to point B so you need to pass some cars then back to drive if you in a study speed)
    But when you put it in S mode and use the paddle shifters it will be fully M mode without returning to D mode or Up Shift automatically for you

    A tune for the L99 is a must
    feels almost like a new car.

    It's even more fun with a 6speed manual best lookin 5th Gen camaro and I even like it better than the 6th Gen it just has an old school look to it. I will never sell mine. I have mine for 7years now no issues with it kept it factory stock will be worth more with time

    Re. your complaint about it not shifting as quickly as you wanted: was the transmission in D or S? Makes a diff. You were likely in D.

    The L99 has cylinder deactivation for fuel economy and a few other small changes like a different cam. it’s not super different but it usually puts out around 30-40whp less than the ls3

      with a tune those differences are gone.
      i have a tune from DSP performance Motorsports and got +37 hp with just CAI and Borla catback system.

      Get a muffler delete

    • @markjmarkjack
      @markjmarkjack 2 роки тому +1

      If you have the NPP dual mode exhaust you can pull the 5amp fuse in the trunk to lock the actuators open and get more sound. If not delete or replace with a nice aftermarket muffler. A set of long tube headers will really wake it up in both sound and power. As for your mid pipe mine has a H pipe which I think sounds the best but an X pipe scavenges better.

    • @Tanner_Teves
      @Tanner_Teves Рік тому

      No, the 2016 Camaro is on Chevy's new LT platform. Bunch of differences between an LT and an LS engine. The 6.2 in this video's Camaro is the L99 (The main difference between the LS3 and L99 is that it had cylinder deactivation which turns off cylinders to save some MPG).
