Reminds me of the time (20 years ago) I got pulled over for doing 110 on my bike. Trooper thanked me for stopping, and said, "If you had been going 120, I wouldn't have bothered".
I passed a cop on my way back to GA from AL doing 120+mph while he was doing about 110mph, I was in a Dodge RAM, he was in a patrol car, I chucked him the deuce and pushed ahead, my ex was in the passenger seat freaking out until we got home.
Wild, brings back memories of when I was young & stupid. I too have hooked that left & run wide open (excess of 140 moh) towards Memphis across that stretch of road. Had my t-tops off & I just floored it for a few miles. My ‘78 T/A loved to stretch it’s legs there. Mind you, it was always late at night w/no traffic. So thankful my stupidity didn’t result in injury, death or incarceration.
Yeah, I did the same thing about 53years ago in a "Boss 351" Mustang. I wanted to find the top end on that machine. Waited till 2:00AM, got on one of the few 70MPH highways (MN) at the time. The speedo in the 'Stang only went up to 120, but when I "topped out" the needle was a ways past the 120 mark. I figured I was doing an honest 130MPH, that was enough for me! I count myself lucky that there was no debris or animal running across the highway otherwise I would not be writing this comment now. Stay safe!!!
I'll add mine: I was stationed at McGuire AFB in the early 70s. One night I was driving home to Barnegat on a road that was straight as an arrow for miles. I floored my Dodge Charger 440 and got up to 140 MPH. It was then that I noticed the trees on both sides flashing by and my thought that maybe the front tires might blow out. Eased it back to 70. That car was great but too much temptation. LOL
I've seen Camaros out in the western deserts of the United States blow away highway patrol and troopers like they weren't even moving. One was clocked at 203 mph back in the 1990's..
I'm a long haul trucker, that section is very scary for us. Its only 2 lanes each way and all the traffic going east and west is bottlenecked into that section.

Had a Z-28 when I was 17 that was built. Got a reckless driving for being clocked at 144 in a 50. I thought about trying to run cause I had more but I chose to pull over because my buddy was crying we're going to die.
Even a Camaro SS can toy with the police, the V6’s are just a bit quicker. Realistically if your car can do a 6 second 0-60 and 130+mph it’s quite possible to outrun the police
Ouf this man was the state trooper of the year… his ego was definitely feeling it after that, and his buddies at the department probably didn’t drop it for a week
ASP are Tyrants and driven by nothing but ego! Tennessee Highway Patrol has more respect for civilians than ASP, and no TN and Arkansas definitely do not see eye to eye, they know not to go beyond the Mississippi 😂😂😂😂
Most states have pursuit agreements with neighboring states that allow them to cross state lines as long as the chase started in their jurisdiction. Even if they didn't have that agreement here they definitely radioed to next jurisdiction and let them know what is coming. For all we know Tennessee troopers were waiting for him at the end of the bridge.
You know what I'm willing to bet that the driver of the Camry has done this before because it seems like he's not panicking at all and he's moving past and around these cars like he does it every day
Debs husband says I once heard a state trooper talk about how boring it is to sit by a highway and watch traffic. If the truth were known I wouldn't be surprised if some of these troopers got as big a thrill out of the chase as the person they are chasing but I doubt they would ever admit it. 😊
That's why owning 2 camaros is so important. Like myself. Run in the blue one. Getaway... drive thebred one dorm 6 months. Nothing to worry about other than. How fast the gas goes.
I was talking to a Kentucky State Trooper not too long ago while we were both at the fuel pump and was surprised to learn that his patrol car only had a 6 cylinder in it, it was a Dodge Charger SXT and he said they were not the fastest thing for sure especially with the couple hundred extra pounds of gear installed to make it a law enforcement vehicle. I would guess that this is more common than most of us realize.
Did you ask him to open the hood? Because they're generally not allowed to open the hood if you ask. There's a reason for that. ;) Don't believe everything they tell you, those cars are special ordered from the factory for police work.
Ive been told by a couple local enforcement officers that most police chargers top out at 125. If they need to do a chase that leads over that, they'll bring out the fast cars they seize from drug dealers that have been converted to police cruisers. They show off a twin turbo 370z all the time
@@Nathanv3 according to @dandymcgee it's all one big psyop, they just tell you they're slower, rebadge their cars as slower models, and they're really "special cars" on the off chance that some day they'll encounter you out on the road and you'll take off thinking that you can outrun them because of what they've previously told you and then the trap is sprung.

@@dandymcgee Your right, it's all one big conspiracy...
