Tourist was my fave record I had the CD sleeve w me when I saw them on Curves Ahead tour! Russ had the entire band sign the sleeve and signed my copy of Curves! Just a bunch of very talented musicians who are so kind to their fans
Classic Ripps! Love this song and so many others they do. Was just hanging out with Jeff Kashiwa after a Reza Khan show. Super nice guy and obviously a great sax player. Huge fan of monster bass player Kim Stone as well. Russ Freeman is a musical genius!
How was like meeting Jeff? He was just at a jazz club in Charlotte NC called the Middle C jazz club in September of this year. I wanted to see him; however, I was out of town. He tends to perform a lot with this Toronto based duo named Four80East. They have some great music as well you should check it out!!!
They just not on that level of the Yellow Jackets, Weckle Band and a few other. But still a good group nice to listen too. I can just put an album on and zone out. Miss the 80s and 90s GRP. WHEN everyone played on everyone's else's albums.
Jeff Kashiwa on sax. They are mastering these clips pretty well.
and on the EWI
Those cats are sporting awesome mullets 😎
I would love to see this band again with Russ.
First Rippingtons album I ever heard was Moonlighting. Been hooked since '88!
That percussionist is having the time of his life
Great group and great music.
Wow,,,,33 years ago!! These guys were one the best at their genre!! Still listen to them while walking, driving, biking😊 Mullets make great 🎶 🎵!!
The world is in desperate need of optimistic music. Here’s to hoping they return for a 40th anniversary tour.
Saw The Rips 4x during the 90s.. amazing band. Miss Tony on the drums.. Jeff crushing the brass.. Kim on the bass.. the whole deal. WE NEED YOU BACK!
1991. That’s when music was how music is supposed to be
"She Likes to Watch" and "Curves Ahead" are two of my most favorite joints by Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons. 🎵🥁🎷🎸
Can we give it up for the percussionist going 200% in this version!?!!
This guy is way beyond insane percussion
One of the greatest jazz ensembles ever
I have all the rippingtons albums. My kinda music for roadtrips.
