Get out the dramamine for this one. Keep in mind these are old 8mm video tapes. When you use your zoom, it picks up the slightest shaking and gets a little more blurry.
I went to Lollapalooza that year in Arizona, and when Ministry came out and started playing, an enormous mosh pit formed that consumed everything in its path - coolers, blankets, people. I remember seeing all these crunchy people running for their lives as this thing just barreled outward like goddamn hurricane.
Thanks for posting!
That sounds like an awesome thing to have seen....!😃🤘
@@evanabbott2737 like most other sane people, I was running away from it lol
there were literal bonfires people started burning those mexican blankets chairs. anything and raging around mosh pits. that was incredible.
I was there early and working doing hair wraps until someone slipped me a tab around dusk and enjoyed the rest of the show... Ministry came on as it was getting dark.
That hurricane blew into Houston. When that pit opened up, it was like getting sucked into a vortex. Like a human wave pool and there was absolutely no control. It just kept growing but there was little to no chance of escape. Scary as shit and exhilarating at the same time. I would equate it to jumping out of an airpalne and being somewhat uncertain if you actually packed your chute correctly. Combining that with the sonic and visual onslaught, it was something I will never forget
@@maxbo2003 I was there (Ft. Bend County Fairground). The pit was insane! I saw a girl being carried out, possibly with a broken leg.
Serj Tankian was in attendance. He was "blown away," he said.
I was at this gig and ministry literally blew my ears out.
I saw this show and lost my fucking mind! It was my personal shock and awe. The lights were blinding, I was transfixed. I had never seen or heard anything like it. Still a fan 30 years later and even after all this time, watching took me back to my 20 year old self mesmerized by this wall of sound and sensory overload. Thank you for posting, this it is a gift.
yep.
Same here. I was at this show too.
i was at that show, and Ministry was amazing.
I was at this show too. Do you remember Al screaming you can all fuck off and slamming the mic at the end of the set? That went on some kind of echo repeat for about 10 min.
Soundgarden and Ministry were monsters on this tour, both of their performances in St Paul on this tour i consider peak concert events in my life. It was too bad the Chili's had to follow this.
nothing could fuck with Ministry in 1992. They owned that whole year.
I was there in Irvine in ‘92. Dont remember shit. Such great memories that I don’t have. I never forget them.
I was at the Orlando show, caught between 2 pits and trying to keep a 9 year old I had come across (he loved Ministry) somewhat safe. Good times, good times.
I was at this show and was at the after parter at Irvine meadows hilton afterword hung out with Al and got a pic... Flea Eddie vedder anthony kedis I wish someone had footage of the desert sky shows right before this final show of tour. In Phoenix there was about three raging mosh pits around bonfires in the lawn that last a good long time. it was incredible trip.
Would be great to see photos from that party! Cool!
Ha I was at this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The loudest band there ever was and ever will be, and I mean that with love ❤
I saw this tour in Vancouver. Their set changed my life... They started to play and all of these pale people that had been hiding from the rain under tarps came creeping out and started moshing. Most intense thing I had (or have) ever seen.
I saw them in Minneapolis Lollapalooza in 92'. same experience...they were incredible.
I was at that Vancouver show too!!! Ministry's set is still the greatest hour of rock n roll I've ever seen. Sounded like Motörhead on steroids. It was somewhere between absolute ecstacy and absolute terror lol
I lasted 5 minutes in that pit at Thunderbird stadium until my life started flashing before me on that epic rainy day; completely insane overload of energy that only Ministry could produce at that time.
This was great! This show looks insane! I’ve been watching different sets all morning! Wish I could have been there! Thanks for sharing
Their set on this tour was INSANE. I hadn’t heard a single song by them and I said to my buddy “I think we’re going to Hell just for seeing this.” Became a lifelong fan.
Saw this show in Bremerton, Washington, right up front, and my hearing never has recovered. True story.
Permanent ringing? That happened to me at a Metallica show. My ears rang for a month. I thought I was messed up for life and then it went away. After that I wore earplugs lol.
Ministry gave me tinnitus in 1999 in Atlanta while on acid.
Does anybody have any footage of the "slam pit" "mosh pit" from this '92 Lollapalooza with Ministry at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.
That pit was fkn RIDONKULOUS..
It was size of a fkn football field and it consumed EVERYTHING in its path..
The best fkn show EVAH..
You must be talking about the pit up on the grass. I was down by the stage. .
I was in the pit in '93 for Anthrax/White Zombie. There were these two dudes...like 6'5" 250 going the wrong way around the pit leveling everyone then Rob Zombie said something like...there are over 15,000 of you and only 200 security. I want everyone on this stage. It was like time stopped in the pit and I looked behind me and saw a wave of people rushing the stage from the grass. Been in S.O.D, Pantera, Ministry, Napalm Death pits and the White Zombie pit was the only time I was actually scared. I literally thought I was going to die.
Ahh..to be 21 again.
Brilliant footage actually great quality compared to others I've seen thanks for sharing this!
Would have loved to have gone to these shows.Least I got to see Ministry when they came to the U.K. on this tour with Helmet supporting.
Just imagine seeing this gig indoors. It was like everything described below.Still think bout them gigs to this day.
Yeah this show was sick ! I felt bad the Chili peppers had to follow this . Although they held their up against this . Al rules !
Fuckin' Awesome,
I love this era of Ministry💯
Oh how I wish there was footage from desert sky in Phoenix that year
I WAS THERE!!!!!
Saw Lolla II in Atlanta (the same place I saw versions I-V actually). Was beyond hyped for the Ministry set and it didn't disappoint.
This is the shit I’d get really fucked up to in high school.
I saw this show Alpine Valley Wisconsin Ministry fukn killed it just fukn killed yeah they fukn killed it
Saw this in FL. Right before hurricane Andrew hit.
Me too . In Orlando
I seen this show in INDY
Phoenix show same tour...Lsd ...bonfiers...mission pretty damn good
I felt bad for RHCP at this show. They had to follow Ministry who had, by far, the best and most energetic set. Don't get me wrong, many bands were great, but Ministry really should have headlined.
Irvine Meadows they bashed a paper mouche head of George Bush 2 NWO it was awesome! I was high on acid speed alcohol weed and mushrooms! My skin and brain were on full overload! They blew the Chili Peppers off the stage in my opinion.
Such a beautiful disaster
